The best team of rotonda Sofia and katerina!

I have mixed feelings on this hotel and fail to see why there are so many people rating as 5* . To me it was a 4* at the best. I am not sure why but there was something lacking but can’t put my finger on it. The hotel looks impressive probably the best in the area. Bedrooms are a good size, we had a double sea view which was actually 2 twins placed side by side. View was excellent, lovely balcony. Bathroom was large it a a whirlpool bath with shower over. I would say not a great design you could see on the window frame that mould had appeared over time and been wiped off. Drinking water was supplied everyday and the fridge was checked for what had been used. Funny place to keep Pringles! If using the drinks check prices, we used a Pepsi and a coke on two seperate days and charged 24 euros. Maid services was the worse ever. I thought it was a joke on the first day. The beds were not always put back and one one occasion at an angle. When made they looked as if you had got out of them! Photo attached. PJs slung on the bedside table. One day my wife had accidentally left a dress draped in the bathroom we came back to find it screwed up in the bath! I know the hotel is modern but the corridors leading to the rooms were clinical. Reminded me of hospital corridors on the way to theatre. The food was good not amazing good. Was nice to have à la carte as an option instead of buffet in the main restaurant. Room service was good, quick service and large portions. Generally the staff were polite and friendly with the odd exception. I noticed on other reviews that guest relations and hotel manager went around speaking to people, I wouldn’t. Have a clue who they were. There were some lovely guys in the main restaurant, i also think George, one of the guys who helps with the luggage deserves big mentions. Entertainment okay with the exception of the pianist / singer that’s one I wouldn’t recommend listening too. We were half board arrived after the evening meal. We were advised we could catch one of the à la carte order room service.(chargeable) we would be given a voucher to be used for lunch. We ordered room service food was great. However I have since read another review who were left sandwiches in their room. I’m. Not sure if different rules apply depending on what board you booked. Hotel was clean throughout including pool and grounds. Pity the same can’t be said for the surrounding area. The tourist tax paid is high which you would expect to go towards the upkeep of the area. It was out anniversary and my wife’s birthday whilst away. We were surprised by a knock on the door with a lovely cake, birthday card and bottle of champagne. It was very much appreciated There are plenty of sunbeds and didnt see anyone reserving. However there were a few people who had more than one sunbed in different locations/ positions. I noticed from reviews people had mentioned a towel lady - we never saw one, however the towels were next to the mini market to help yourself. Overall we did have good holiday. Would we go back ? Probably not

I came many time in Rhodes, this hotel is different is not the place,but the people that they make the difference.The reception team was very helpful they were always there for us.When I come again to the island of course I will choose Atrium platinum again and again .I would like to thank Despina,Klaudio ,Elsa ,Fotini ,Maria and Michalis Maglafas for the room
