This is located on a hillside of lush pine trees. The hotel sets the benchmark in comfort with spectacular views of the mountains and the Aegean Sea in the southern part of the island of Rhodes in Pefkos, Greece. The luxurious complex is located just 250 meters from the picturesque beach and 30 meters from the nearest supermarket. Staying in Pefkos can admire the deep blue as lovers of ancient monuments will be impressed from Lindos with its famous Acropolis, which is about 10 minutes by bus or 5 minutes by taxi from the main square of the village and at 41.3 kilometres from Rhodes Diagoras International Airport around 45 minutes by car. The area around is covered by several restaurants and bars and Greek taverns. The resort with its modern designed rooms and suites is where comfort and friendly service delight couples and families seeking a relaxed holiday atmosphere. All rooms feature a balcony from where guests can admire the crystal clear waters and a stunning landscape. All rooms are elegantly appointed with modern facilities including a private bathroom and a hair dryer.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Hotel is fantastic, all the staff are polite, hardworking and friendly. Breakfast has plenty of options and rotates daily. The hotel rooms could do with a little TLC to refurbish but that didn’t affect my stay in anyway, the price of the hotel is much cheaper in comparison to others in the Pefkos area, don’t trust all the negative reviews, I noticed that a few of the people staying there were rude and unnecessary awkward to staff who are just doing there best to make the stay at pleasurable as possible. Would stay again!
Absolutely loved our stay at Eagles Nest. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. A special thank you to George at reception, who kindly arranged a bottle of champagne after I mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary – such a thoughtful touch that made our trip even more special.
We were also delighted with our beautiful room overlooking the sea, with stunning views that we never got tired of waking up to. The hotel is spotless, well-maintained, and has a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, and honestly, we couldn’t fault a thing. We would highly recommend Eagles Nest to anyone visiting Pefkos and would happily stay here again.
Went here for our annual 2 week holiday and have definitely had a rollercoaster of feelings during our stay. Our room was probably the only good thing about our entire stay. Loads of space and private pool was beneficial, However our toilet and shower facilities were completely disappointing! Water was never on or working properly making it had to have a basic hygiene routine. The Location of the hotel had its benefits but also it’s let downs. Close to a store but was a 15 minute walk away from everything else. Extremely quiet at nights but always woke up to the sound of furniture moving or the staff arguing with each other. Unfortunately the service we got during our time there was not up to standard. Staff were very quick to shut down every conversation and not doing an adequate job of communicating with us. We asked for a late checkout and without even looking were told that there was no way of this happening as they were fully booked. The atmosphere was slightly disappointing as we have been on a few holidays and have never been to a hotel/resort were there was no type of entertainment, music or activities to take part in even with the roof garden upstairs being left to rot. Unfortunately with the price we paid for our holiday we were extremely disappointed with this as we feel the price we paid was well over what the holiday was worth. Unfortunately I will not be back to this hotel.
We have visited Pefkos several times over the years and absolutely love the resort, so it’s important to say that this review is about Eagles Nest Hotel only – not Pefkos itself. If this had been our first visit to Pefkos, this hotel would honestly have been enough to put us off returning.
The only positive from our stay was Konstantinos, the night receptionist. He was always friendly, welcoming and genuinely helpful. He made us feel like valued guests and is a real credit to the hotel.
Unfortunately, everything else fell well below expectations.
The daytime receptionist was consistently rude and unhelpful. We asked him to book us a taxi and were simply told “no”. When we asked to borrow an iron, he huffed and puffed before practically throwing it at us with water leaking out of it. On our final day, our transfer wasn’t until 5pm, so we politely asked if we could have a towel to dry ourselves after using the gym shower. Again, the answer was just “no”, with no effort to help or offer any alternative. It genuinely felt like guests were an inconvenience rather than welcome.
To make matters worse, he regularly sat behind the reception desk smoking inside the reception area. Having to walk through reception while staff were smoking was unpleasant and gave a very poor first impression of the hotel.
The room was also very disappointing. There were ants throughout the room, the bed (or should I say two single beds was uncomfortable, and the shower leaked constantly. There were also times when there was no water available in the room at all, which is completely unacceptable. We booked a swim-up room expecting something special, but it was dirty and poorly maintained. We actually arrived back after a day of sunbathing one day to find goats drinking out of our pool and fouling on the grass next to it.
Housekeeping was well below standard. The bed was made each day, but that was about it. We didn’t receive fresh sheets once during our 8-night stay, fresh towels were rarely provided, and the room was never properly cleaned. Pyjamas which I had folded up and put on the pillow were left screwed up at the end of the bed.
Breakfast was, quite honestly, inedible. We gave it several chances but ended up eating elsewhere most mornings.
The pool area was another disappointment. It was painfully quiet with no atmosphere, and the poolside showers didn’t even work. We actually spent every day other than the first at the nearby Pefki Island Resort instead because it offered a much better experience.
To make matters worse, checkout was at 11am, yet at 9am on the morning of our departure the maid was repeatedly knocking on our door because she wanted to clean the room. It made us feel rushed out well before checkout time.
Overall, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays we’ve had. Basic standards of cleanliness, maintenance and customer service simply weren’t met. It’s such a shame because Pefkos is a beautiful place with so much to offer, but Eagles Nest Hotel fell far short of the experience we expected. We won’t be returning, and unfortunately, we couldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
This hotel has so much potential, a great location in the family friendly area of Pefki. We stayed for 10 nights at the end of Summer 2025. My partner and I have realistic expectations of the hotels we stay in. We do not travel all that often so we were looking forward to this holiday very much. Unfortunately our time spent at Eagles Nest was the worst we’ve ever experienced.
We arrived to check-in at 11:30pm after our flight from Scotland and were told that we didn’t have a booking along with 2 other English couples who were just as confused as us. We all booked through different travel agents so we didn’t understand how our bookings “weren’t in the hotel system.” The receptionist finally came clean and said the hotel was overbooked. Apparently this is an issue that senior management do not care to rectify and allow for overlapping bookings across multiple holiday websites, which results in no rooms being available to those arriving. The other couples (who were eldery so got priority over us, we didn’t mind initially) were shipped off in a shuttle bus to the ‘sister hotel’ for the night. Told to come back tomorrow when a room will be available. We were left behind, promised by the driver he will come back for us - only to be told there were ZERO rooms in the sister hotel. A stand off then proceeded between the driver/maintenance man and the receptionist at now midnight over where we were going to stay. Completely unprofessional and caused us such anxiety. We practically had to beg them to sort it out as it was so late and we did not know the area to try and look for other hotels. We were finally given keys to a room in the Eagles Nest hotel, only for us to walk in on a couple SLEEPING in the bed! The receptionist gave us keys to a room that a couple moved to after complaining about their initial room given. No record was kept so this caused the mix up. We were mortified to walk in on this couple. She finally gave us keys the spare room and we understood why it was sitting empty. It was foul smelling of cigarettes. Black mould all up the walls. Dirty sheets. We were so tired and upset that we slept fully clothed with our own towels on the bed. I honestly couldn’t believe what had happened, it was like a nightmare.
The next morning, we went downstairs and explained how awful our experience had been checking in and that we refused to stay in the disgusting room. No apology was given. No upgrade was offered. Awful customer service. We were just handed keys to another room so dismissively by this receptionist man (different from the women the previous night). The maintenance man came up with us to show the new room and was slightly nicer, but full of excuses. It’s clear that management do not intervene at all in this hotel - genuinely shocking customer service. No support to their staff who we saw night after night turning away BOOKED customers or sending them to the sister hotel.
The new room sufficed however the ant issue was AWFUL. We had to buy our own ant replicant spray. The shower leaked. Got minimal clean towels every day. The breakfast buffet was okay, but not hygienic enough. We stayed the full 10 days because we didn’t want the situation to ruin our holiday. However that first night - I can safely say was a mentally harrowing experience. Even across the rest of our time there, no one checked up on us or asked if we were happy. They were continuously doing this to more customers every night. So no one cares on a human level.
We ignored reviews for this hotel as we were on a budget. Please DON’T book this hotel because they do not care about their customers. They only care about money and the staff on the ground deal with the consequences.
While we stayed in 2025, I can see from reviews this year that the situation has not changed. You will be treated like you’re in a hostel, not a 4 star hotel. DO NOT BOOK IF YOU WANT A DECENT EXPERIENCE.
