A good four-star hotel
Staying here currently -
Positives; The food, entertainment (particularly Max) and pool area are amazing. Most staff are really lovely and attentive. We did have one rude/abrupt interaction with a member of staff that left me upset, but it was later apologised for. The rooms/beds are very comfy and clean. The gyros available after 6:30pm are 10/10, and wood fired pizza offered in the daytime is out of this world.
Negatives; The air con is O-K in the rooms could be more effective. Balcony is tiny, but depends what room you get (it's literally the width of a chair). Alcohol selection in the day is very limited - only ouzo and brandy/beer or wine before 6:30pm, it would be nice if more spirits were included.
Overall we have had a lovely stay, with a few small improvements this could easily be a 5 star hotel. 😊

Fantastic holiday, gutted to go home!!
We had an absolutely wonderful week at the Marathon hotel. The food exceeded expectations - there was so much choice! I did not expect it to be so good for what we paid . You could have something different every night and they were also theme nights like Greek food and Chinese. The staff were always friendly, smiling and helpful and ready for a joke. The hotel is in a good location because you can get a direct bus Rhodes town or Lindos very easily. Outside the hotel are loads of supermarkets and souvenir shops to look around. I took my teenager and as we know teenagers are not easy to please but Max the entertainment coordinator really made her holiday. He had her playing darts and volleyball every day and we all enjoyed the Aqua aerobics. I don’t know why someone said on a review that it is noisy around the pool because the activities are only for an hour or so and it is lovely and peaceful the rest of the day. Anyway there is a quiet pool so if you ask you can go there. In the evenings there is entertainment, twice a week there is a band or Greek dancers and then Max does the entertainment the other evenings - we had loads of fun! He is hilarious! Thank you Max, Asteris and the rest of the staff. We would definitely go back.
Honeymoon
We've just returned from a really great honeymoon at the Marathon Hotel.
Location: The hotel is located in Kolymbia on Eucalyptus street, with some great shops within walking distance. The beach isn't far but is still a bit of a walk (unless we went the wrong way!). There's a bus stop just outside the hotel that will take you to Rhodes Town, Lindos, and other tourist areas for €4.
Facilities: The pool is great but it's really hard to get a sunbed, we only managed to get two on our last day because my partner got up at 7am and laid on the sunbed. Lots of people reserve even though they're not supposed to. There's a pool table, table football, and gym if you're so inclined.
Food: Amazing! Loads of options available and incredibly tasty. We were very impressed. Themed nights include Asian food (with sushi!), Greek night etc. 10/10 The pizza available during the day and gyros in the evening were a great touch.
Entertainment: Max is a legend. We loved the quizzes, bingo, karaoke, and the couples quiz that we took part in. The man works incredibly hard and is great fun. He really tries to cater to all nationalities, but if he's playing music he'll play what people will dance to.
Room: We were originally given a really small room right next to the pool. This room was not great. We did get given a better room a few days in to the stay which was bigger and more private. They were cleaned daily to a good standard.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you to everyone at Marathon who made our Honeymoon special.
Lovely clean and friendly hotel
Hotel is beautifully clean , cleaners come in daily Pool is nice and warm there’s a 2nd pool at the back but we didn’t use this , it’s a quiet area Soft drinks not the best tasting but are the same across Rhodes apparently , we just bought coke from shop and added to spirits in evening Only beer , wine and soft drinks in day but that suited us , we are beach people anyway Max the animation man is hilarious and speaks several languages , he’s super friendly All staff were wonderful , very friendly and helpful The hotel is located on main road in kolyombia. Where there are shops and bars but sadly no live music , kolyombia for us was a little too quiet but still a stunning place Food was excellent , wide choice daily and always warm , even the fussiest of eaters could find something . Deserts were varied and lovely and they had live stations throughout our stay with sushi and other traditional greek dishes being made fresh Local beaches are nice although be prepared to pay €20 to € 30 euro for 2 beds and umbrella Room was clean and adequate but small , but ok to sleep and get ready , tea/coffee facilities would be a bonus Ice creams , pizza available during day and gyros at night made fresh Local beaches Overall a lovely holiday , nice hotel , we sadly wouldn’t return as kolmbia too quiet for us but if you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday then the marathon is the place for you Definitely worth the 4 stars and good value for money Rhodes is stunning , Lindos is a must see , and if you want a lively night out then get the bus to Faliraki €2.40 pp and taxi back around €25to €30 euros Enjoy your stay , it’s a great hotel and staff 😃
Perfect couple holiday
Great hotel, lovely atmosphere for couples. Not so much family oriented. Food was lovely, plenty of choice. Rooms cleaned to a very high standard everyday. Good value for money and literally on the main kolymbia strip. Taxi rank is right outside. Staff very friendly, bar staff fantastic. Will stay again.
