Thoroughly enjoyed our stay for our 10 day family holiday. The rooms were kept top notch being cleaned everyday. Couldn’t ask for anything more, I would like to give a big shoutout to George, Mika and Sakis who were absolutely amazing during our stay and not only friendly but great at their job too. Finally huge thanks to Rio who made our stay fantastic by keeping us on our toes and not sat down all day. He is great at what he does and getting people involved so props to him too. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking at staying here.
My partner and I stayed here for a week- this hotel has many really positive features. Firstly, the service was flawless- reception staff were always helpful and bar staff were always on it (shout out to Sakis who was great), cleaning staff were friendly and professional. It is worth mentioning we were also upgraded to a room with a pool, free of charge, which was a lovely way to start our trip. We were also greeted with sparkling wine on arrival.
The room itself, although not massive, was stylish and modern. The bathroom was large and shower was lovely. Having a section of a private pool to ourselves was great. Our one downside with the room is that there was little to no noise insulation. Our neighbours had a baby and we could, for most of our stay, hear the baby crying and parents talking/ trying to deal with it. The baby is not the hotel’s fault but we could even hear conversations- this should probably be looked into.
Food was excellent for an all inclusive. Meat, fish and carb options changed daily for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was repeated but there was a great variety of foods. Overall, food quality was high however, the à la carte restaurant was average and not worth it (the Italian restaurant is very far from Italian despite its claims).
The main public pool was large and a nice temperature. It could have had a real deep end but that’s ok. The entertainment team was great, very friendly, there was always something on to engage guests. If you are a family with children, it was clear this would be a real highlight as it was great for the children at the hotel. However, in terms of evening entertainment, quality was mixed. Entertainment was average- not very interactive/ music groups were not great quality wise. Wasn’t bad but was not good. The lobby bar also smelt a little, if you stood close to the fruit trays it had the lingering smell of vomit. We figured that it was the cleaning fluid they use in combination with the fruit- this meant that we never sat by the bar as it was unpleasant
Location is strong, beach is less than 2 minutes away and there are great hiking routines nearby. The hotel is on bus lines that connect to Rodos and Lindos (although buses were a little difficult to navigate).
Overall we had a great stay and really enjoyed our time. This hotel really deserves 4 stars but there are just a few minor things that stop it from reaching 5. We would recommend.
Just returned from a wonderful 9 night holiday at Leonardo Kolymbia. The hotel itself is well positioned, near bars, shops, restaurants and the beach..especially as it’s all inclusive and usually find they are off the beaten track. The hotel amenities are very good, rooms are modern and very clean. Arrived early hours of the morning to a fruit basket, bottle of wine, sandwiches and fresh bottled water.:: which was replenished every day. We had deluxe garden rooms, which I’d say were on the small side, but arranged nicely and with storage. I wouldn’t have quite said a garden view, but either way was okay. We did have an issue on our room with the neighbours being extremely loud and arguing in the early hours for 2 nights, we did go to reception and was told the neighbours were leaving that day…. Thankfully! But they had already been moved from another room, probably for the same reason and it did disturb our sleep for those 2 nights: The pool was large, very clean and plenty of loungers, bar and snacks available throughout the day. The food; which I usually find difficult being a pescatarian with a shellfish allergy, but they had good choice, very fresh, although I would say was a shame that we only got to visit the little Italian a’la carte and not the steakhouse, as there was no offer of a vegetarian alternative for the steakhouse, which did mean the rest of the family missed out, as we like to all eat together on holiday. So after a week the food choice did get a little repetitive. The only downside to the buffet we felt as a family was the dessert selection, where we felt it didn’t offer a good and varied choice and everyday was the same. The all inclusive cocktail menu was okay, although my personal tastes I didn’t like them too much. We didn’t realise that there was a premium all inclusive option, with cocktails that I would have enjoyed more, but we weren’t told about this until ordering at the bar and I couldn’t get a cocktail that I’d enjoy. Our holiday was made all the more fun with Rio and the team. Rio interacted with everyone, all day and night long! Whether it be adult or child Rio certainly didn’t miss anyone out. He was fun, entertaining and made our holiday all the more memorable. Thank you Rio! Also a special mention to the pool barman who was always smiling, happy and helpful. We also especially enjoyed the Bruno Mars & friends tribute act. We don’t normally return to visit the same places, but if we were to go back to Rhodes we wouldn’t hesitate to come back or recommend it to others!!
Currently enjoying our second week at the leonardo kolymbia resort and we are having a wonderful time. The hotel is the cleanest I have ever stayed in, the staff are all wonderful, the food and drinks are the best we have ever had for an all inclusive. The beach is less than 5 minutes stroll away and we would recomend the smaller beach where leonardo have some free sunbeds, we have always managed to get beds as a family of 5 by 10am, follow the board walk to the left of the verona beach bar. The larger beach to the right of the Verona beach bar is a lot pebblier.
The pool at the leonardo is gorgeous and always plenty of sunbeds.
Rio in the entertainment team is a fabulous character and we have found the childrens entertainment much better than we expected. There has also been a great selection of singers perform in the evening.
The highlight of our stay so far was the pink foam party which was incredible and so well organised.
Our room is a double for 2 adults and 1 child, and plenty of room, could do with a little more storage for clothing but we have managed just fine.
If I have any criticism it would only be that the music around the pool is just too loud, not great when there are young babies here.
We are deffinity hoping to return.
We had a great time at this hotel. Upon arrival, we got upgraded to an executive pool view room (room 708) from a premium garden room, the room was very modern and clean with a spacious bathroom. We had a late arrival and there were sandwiches and bottles of water in the fridge and the water was topped up daily. My 13 year old daughter slept on the pull out chair/bed which she found comfortable but it blocked the patio door so made it difficult to get onto the balcony. Other than that the room was perfect for us. There was a wide variety of activities provided by the animation team including water polo, volleyball and water aerobics and Rio in particular with his tireless energy and enthusiasm worked hard to ensure everyone had fun. We were lucky to be there for the foam pool party which was great fun.
We never had an issue with getting sunbeds. So long as you aren’t bothered where you go there are spare ones piled up and shade from trees and bushes if no more parasols available.
We really enjoyed the food, the quality and variety was good and the Al a Carte restaurants were excellent especially steak night.
Eucalyptus Street is 1 minute walk away and that has a strip of restaurants, bars snd shops and was quite lively until around 11pm.
We used the free hotel sun beds on the harbour beach once (we arrived mid morning and there were still some free). Whilst the beach is nice the sea was quite cloudy, we assume from the boats churning up the water. After that we paid for sun beds (30 euros for a set) on Kolymbia beach - the water is crystal clear on this beach and good for snorkeling (we saw 13 types of fish!)
Highly recommend a boat trip from the harbour to Lindos (swim stops on the way back).
