Surrounded by palm and olive trees and a delightful garden area with four fountains, the attractive Golden Odyssey hotel complex comprises eight buildings on 25,000 m2, including a main building and various bungalows. It features a variety of excellent services and amenities such as a daily shuttle to one of the cleanest beaches of the island, which is about 950 m away. The centre of Kolymbia with numerous shops, restaurants, pubs and nightclubs can be reached within a short stroll. This hotel is ideal for guests wishing to spend a beach holiday in one of the nicest areas of Rhodes.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Dimitris is one of the best bar staff. 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting
Golden Odyssey was fabulous from beginning to end. The atmosphere, rooms and value for money were perfect. The bar and restaurant staff made the trip so special and made us feel extremely welcome, like we were busting old & loved friends. It was our daughter’s birthday and they provided a stunning cake , fresh flowers on the table and a beautiful fanfare from the manager and waiting staff to make the birthday one we will never forget! We enjoyed the entertainment but it wasn’t quite as wonderful as the rest of our experience.
Overall a great experience with my wife and 10yr old daughter. The staff at hotel were all super friendly and helpful especially the bar staff in the evening. He couldn't do enough to help you and went out of their way to ensure you got everything you needed. The restaurant staff fantastic and made you feel like family every day you arrived. I dont know all their names but special thanks to restaurant staff Mike snd Mary who helped make our daughters birthday out there special, surprising her with a cake and the entire team coming over to sing happy birthday. Thank you ❤️ There There is a shuttle bus to beach and back every day which takes less than 10mins or you can walk to the shops and restaurants in the main street in 20mins There is also a bus stop right outside hotel is you wish to visit Rhodes old town or Lindos and all very straight forward and cheap (€10 for 3 of us) The beaches nearby are lovely and never a problem getting loungers together (€11 for the day) The pools at hotel are great and never seemed too busy with loungers always available and staff always seemed be waking around keeping the area clean. The only small improvement i have liked would have been for the entertainment during the day and especially in the evening for the kids and families to be a better, more engaging, varied. 5 Star experience
Very good hotel with really good customer service. Especially bartender Dimitri, he's very nice and supportive. Always there for you almost no matter the time, if you're sad, if you're drunk, if you're crazy, he'll always help you through it no matter if its through words or drinks. I loved it alot.
We arrived at the Golden Odyssey Hotel late in the evening and were greeted at reception. After check-in, we were simply given basic directions to our room and left to find it ourselves in the dark. After a long journey, a little more assistance would have been appreciated.
The rooms are very basic. I was genuinely surprised that there wasn’t any complimentary drinking water in the room, which I feel is a basic necessity. The toilet paper was also extremely poor quality.
We paid extra for a swim-up room. While we knew the pool was shared, we didn’t expect it to be treated like a public pool by the entire hotel. People would spend the day directly outside our room, which meant there was very little privacy and made the upgrade feel like poor value.
The food was another disappointment. The meals were very repetitive, with little variety from one night to the next. Although the restaurant staff were friendly, welcoming, and worked hard, the menu itself lacked choice and quickly became monotonous.
The all-inclusive drinks offering was also underwhelming. Most branded drinks cost extra, leaving only tap wine, beer, and very basic spirits included. The soft drink dispensers were unreliable too—on more than one occasion, selecting Coca-Cola resulted in sparkling water coming out instead. Even when they were working correctly, the fizzy drinks had a very cheap, artificial aftertaste, especially the cola. To make matters worse, the all-inclusive service ends at 11:00 pm.
The advertised entertainment didn’t live up to expectations either. A quiz involving taking shots isn’t what I would consider quality evening entertainment.
Cleanliness was inconsistent throughout our stay. Some areas were well maintained, while others were not. Another downside was that all drinks were served in flimsy disposable plastic party cups, which felt cheap and wasn’t particularly environmentally friendly.
Overall, I would rate this as more of a 3-star hotel than the advertised 4-star. The hotel was underwhelming and didn’t provide the standard we expected. Thankfully, we spent most of our time exploring Rhodes, which is a beautiful island with plenty to offer. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t choose to stay at the Golden Odyssey Hotel
