We've just returned from a fantastic 10 night stay at Atlantica Aegean Blue. We travelled at a family of 4, with two sons aged 6 and 1. I would echo most of the reviews in that this hotel was brilliant overall, with maybe a few areas that could be improved on. None of which impacted our holiday as such, but just what some other 5 star resorts tend to do.
We stayed in a swim up room overlooking the main pool, close to reception so the location was great, but you could hear the evening entertainment which was loud up until around 10pm. The room was good but having the two child beds next to the balcony made it difficult to sit outside without disturbing them. The swim up bit is nice but not sure we'd bother next time. Liked having a balcony to sit on and read a book but didn't use the swim up pool much. Air con is ok, never felt like the room was cool, just seems to stop the room being too warm..
The hotel is a really nice size, plenty space and sun loungers. Big enough to keep your week varied, certainly smaller than your typical AI resort in Turkey but never felt cramped. but was getting busy towards the end of our stay. Loungers getting reserved by 8am shouldn't be allowed, and by 10am we were usually last to get a few remaining loungers around the main pool.
We spent most of our time at the main pool as they were a good depth for kids. Plenty of atmosphere and the zumba class was a highlight. Infinity pool is beautiful but lacks and atmosphere, could really do with some background music as the setting is stunning.
Staff, all fantastic. All work really hard and engage with the guests. Special shout out to Ash / Ashton who really went above and beyond.
Water park, 5 minute walk from the main pool and we went for an hour most days. Never felt busy and dont think we had to queue for any slides. Not a huge park but nicely split up for adults kids and toddlers.
Food. We ate in the hotel main restaurant every night we were in the hotel (few nights we explored the island). Lovely size, didnt feel overcrowded and the food was exceptional. A real highlight as some of the typical AI buffets can be a bit hit and miss. Every night there was something new, all well cooked and tasty. One of the best buffets we've been do. Brilliant. Loads of choice.
Pool bar, staff were lovely. Drinks are a bit hit and miss. All local spirits, and some better than others. All served in plastic tumblers (even on an evening) which felt a bit low rent. Understandable during the day for a drink by the pool but would have preferred a glass on an evening when watching the 'entertainment'.
Ice cream shop is brilliant.
Pool Snack Bar. Very busy at lunchtime but very quick and convenient. Food was good but very repetitive. Nice to be able to serve your own drink, pour a beer etc. Saves a lot of queing.
Shop on site is superb. Everything you could need. Well priced aswell. Arcade was basic and again felt below par for a 5 star hotel. Gym equipment all new and well maintained.
Improvements
Mini bar fridge in the room was empty almost our entire stay. Had to call reception to request it to be refilled, and most of the time it was only water brought. Other hotels we've stayed it this is done fully, every day. No snacks in the fridge either. Again some crisps biscuits or fruit would be great if spending time in the room on the balcony using the swim up pool.
Room cleaning was very hit and miss. We went days without getting our room cleaned although a couple of these were when we were napping our young one in the room for an hour around lunchtime. Although out the rest of the day out of the room still to have missed the cleaning window. Frustrating.
Pool snack bar food becomes very repetitive. It would be nice for a few small changes to try something new, gyros, kebab maybe, crepes, pancakes. Anything to save it feeling like a week of having exactly the same foods. Even just a fresh watermelon station would be nice.
Evening entertainment is poor. The kids disco dancing was ok but was the same songs every night for an hour. Even the staff looked bored of it. Adult entertainment like the tribute acts, quizzes all felt below par for a claimed 5 star resort. Definitely an area that let the hotel down in comparison to everything else.
Summary
Overall, brilliant holiday and we'd definitely recommend. Im quite sure we'll return at some point but feel the above suggestions would move it from 4 to 5 star review
La Trattoria Italian restaurant at the Atlantica Aegean Blue in Rhodes is fantastic and the food was amazing. The staff are excellent and extremely helpful. Konstantina is a wonderful host and very helpful. Highly recommend. 5 stars to all the staff x
We have just returned from a 10 night stay with a 4 year old and a 2 year old. The hotel is spotless and so well maintained. You constantly see staff around the hotel cleaning and maintaining all areas. The waterpark is a fantastic extra activity to break up the day. Probably the best food from an All Inclusive we have been too. The kids loved the popcorn and ice cream! The entertainment team are what make this hotel stand out! They had soo much time for my two young children it really made their holiday. My daughter particularly took a shine to Reena and she was so fantastic and patient with her - thank you!! The whole team were great! It’s the first time we have considered returning to the same hotel. Thank you!

The serenity & calmness as you enter the spa is wonderful. After the warm welcome from Olga & Efrim, both 5*, you’re taken to a beautiful relaxation area or changing room. Then, your therapist will come for you & take you to the perfect treatment room. Subtle lighting, calming sounds, perfectly clean & the beds move up & down if you prefer to do things by yourself.
I had a full body scrub with Rhoda at the beginning of my holiday. She assisted me in getting on & off the bed & even showered me when she could tell I was struggling to do it myself. A beautiful soul. Soft caring hands who knew my sore points & who checked in with me regularly to make sure I was ok. 5* A few days later, I desperately needed a massage. I chose the calm, lavender option & was blessed to have the wonderful Serena as my masseuse. She had been made aware of my body pain & she too checked in regularly to ensure the pressure was perfect for my needs. A tender and generous young lady with a delicate touch.
Absolutely brilliant! 5*
Would I recommend this Spa?
YES! 100% Highly Recommended!!! 5*
Amazing hotel would definitely return. The best all inclusive food we’ve ever experienced at a buffet. Every night there was something of great quality and delicious. A theme every night too which was nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. A few times I called reception from our room as I needed a carton of milk for the baby and they delivered no problem atall, even at 1am! Very clean throughout the hotel. The only one little downside was, although the entertainment staff are fantastic and very interactive, remembering the children’s names etc, the programme they work off is very repetitive. The same kids disco with the same music and theme every night. Would be nice to switch it up. However that’s nothing to do with the entertainment staff themselves they’re great. Ash & Nintando were great fun. We’re looking to book again for next year and if you’re looking at booking just do it!
