This is a magnificent resort, a unique masterpiece of architecture. The hotel has borrowed many features from the ancient town of Rhodes and really stands out with its impressive colour combinations. Wealth, space and elegance are the predominant elements here. Guests become enchanted by the setting, the colours and the collection of wall paintings. The accommodation units are carefully appointed and offer all the comforts of a resort. All guest rooms feature individually regulated air-conditioning and heating and an en-suite bathroom. Guests of all ages can choose between the 3 freshwater swimming pools including a waterfall, a children's swimming area and a poolside snack bar, not forgetting the beautiful sandy beach, ideal for families and romantic couples.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Me and my boyfriend have just ended an incredible 9 day holiday at Mitsis Rodos Village, and having been almost at the point of changing our hotel before our holiday due to negative reviews, all I can say is please do not let this put you off, we have spent the majority of the holiday trying to understand the negative reviews and are still confused as to what the issue is!
The hotel is in a beautiful quiet location, 20 minutes from Lindos Town by either taxi or bus. We visited three times, which I would definitely recommend, and got the bus there and back for €3 each way, much cheaper than a taxi for €30 approx. each way. We also did a day trip to Rhodes and Symi Island, the only downside to the hotel location meant this was a very long day, however there are also boat trips from Kiotari where the hotel is located if this is a problem. Also something to be aware of is that the transfer from airport if using Jet2, TUI etc with a shared transfer is approx 2hrs due to the location of the hotel.
The hotel grounds are gorgeous, and one side has been recently renovated, with modern rooms and infinity pools which a seem to be a bit quieter, however we never actually used these and stayed at the main pool which our room looked on to. The other side is the ‘older’ part of the hotel which we stayed in. I have seen negative reviews saying this side is run down and tired looking etc, but I can’t agree with this. Our room despite not being part of the renovation was lovely, slightly more traditional but a really pretty room. The cleaners came in every day and did a lovely job, our mini bar was always replenished each day despite being told this was every 2 days and we were always left with fresh towels. The only negative I can give was that the balconies weren’t very private in some of the rooms and you could see over to next door as the wall was very low, however it didn’t bother us as we didn’t use our balcony and used the outdoor seating areas around the hotel in the evening. We were also very close to the buffet restaurant and main reception so it didn’t bother us at all being on this side of the hotel. I can understand it being slightly frustrating being in a room closer to the amphitheatre if you were wanting to use the main pool/buffet restaurant however there are golf buggies running people around and it was around a 5-10 minute walk from our room at the very bottom, to the amphitheatre at the very top of the hotel dependant on how mobile you are. It is worth keeping in mind that the hotel is named Mitsis Rodos VILLAGE, and is exactly as described on the website, it is a very large resort but as mentioned there are ways to get around this if you struggle walking.
A huge point I noted when reading negative reviews before the holiday was regarding the food and bars. The food was absolutely lovely and I can barely fault it. We visited the Greek, Italian, Pan Asian and Tex Mex restaurants for dinner, in particular the Pan Asian and Italian were lovely. The Tex Mex was nice but wasn’t very impressive however these are not Michelin star restaurants as some people seem to be making out that they should be, it’s not the Ritz Hotel. Me and my boyfriend are not picky eaters in the slightest and found the buffet dinners and lunches great with loads of variety day to day and themed nights which we loved. You may have a problem if you or children are picky as they don’t offer chicken nuggets but this can’t be put down to the hotel really. They always had plain pasta and bolognaise sauce, fries and rice etc and a salad bar. Breakfast was the standard every day as it is in every all inclusive but it was lovely, in particular the pancakes and fresh omelettes were fab. The souvlaki restaurant we used once for lunch however due to it being outside we just found it was too hot to sit there at lunch time and preferred the indoor aircon, the food was lovely though and the crepe bar was also great and had variety which we mainly used before the evening entertainment. Regarding the bars, we used the pool bar in the daytime by the main pool and rarely had to queue, drinks were lovely however sometimes slightly strong and staff were very helpful. The bars inside (main bar and night bar) however were quite busy in the evenings and you did have to queue here which could sometimes be a pain, more staff would be great in this area to reduce this however none the less the barman at the main bar was brilliant. He made cocktails not on the menu for us and drinks were always perfect. There were other bar staff also that brought drinks to tables on occasion to relieve the wait which was nice. The night bar was also table service, however this was busy to get a table and we usually sat at the outdoor seating area in the middle of the hotel which was still busy but we always got a table. The amphitheatre bar also got very busy before shows but this is to be expected and wasn’t something that bothered us. All bars could majority of the time give us drinks we asked for and we didn’t experience an issue of stock running low which other reviews had mentioned.
The entertainment we thought was great, if you like to be doing more in the day or have kids then the main pool is probably better for you however as I said we didn’t use the other pools up at the top, so I’m not sure if they had entertainment there. There was darts, aqua gym, water polo and table tennis every day ran by Jacko and Tomas who were brilliant and really made the holiday. They were always around the pool chatting to people and tried to involve everyone which was nice, we couldn’t credit them both enough for how hard working they are. Kostos the lifeguard was also lovely, he was really helpful and friendly and helped us get sunbeds when we had been out in the morning and only returned in the afternoon to the pool. In general also regarding the sunbeds we never had an issue with this, we put our towels down then went to breakfast but there were always beds around 9.00/9.30am despite reviews. Pool was a lovely temperature as well. Evening entertainment was also great, with bingo, quiz nights and magic shows etc which we enjoyed.
All in all I would really really recommend this hotel, we are gutted to be leaving and wish we booked a longer stay. A very long review but I wanted to put some people’s minds at ease as we were quite panicked coming into this holiday but all I can put it down to quite frankly are miserable people!
The Mitsis Rhodes Village hotel experience was fantastic with exceptional staff who provided a service beyond recognition. The food and drink on offer was first class from the buffet restaurant to the five (5) à la carte restaurants which included a brunch option. Worthwhile taking the family to the hotel for a holiday in Rhodes.
I had an absolutely exceptional stay at Mitsis Rhodes Village in Rhodes. From the moment I arrived, everything was perfect. The staff & general managers, especially in the catering team, were incredibly attentive and warm. (Thanks to Arland, Adonis, and Marianna.) The food was absolutely amazing, every meal felt like a gourmet experience and a the à la carte was amazing All the hotel staff were always smiling, friendly and went above and beyond. The rooms and location was stunning, the decor was beautifully done, and the entire experience was the best I’ve ever had. I can’t recommend this place enough!
Travelled to Rodos Village with my partner for 10 nights and I can say I have no regrets.
We stayed in room 612 which was a private plunge pool room which I would highly recommend as I feel this room definitely made our stay what it was. On this point, a very big thank you to Tabika (Mika), our lovely housekeeper. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. Please look out for her (usually around the amphitheatre) and show your love because she is amazing! #Mika&Mega
The food options were great in my opinion but the drink options could do with some work. Sometimes not having the drink you’d like because they have run out.
All staff at reception were very helpful and attentive as well as the entertainment team with a big shout out to Tomas and Jakob. They were fun and really made sure everyone enjoyed their time around the pool.
If you’re looking for a laid back stay away from the hustle and bustle I would recommend! 10/10
Me and my girlfriend just returned home our holiday to Mitsis Rodos Village, and I’ve never written a review before, but felt the need after how good of a holiday we just had, especially after we read countless negative reviews prior to coming which nearly made us change hotels.
First off, we stayed for 9 nights and we given the location it can take 2 hours from the airport if you’ve booked a package holiday like we did due to multiple stops, just bare that in mind. Once we got to the hotel, the restaurant was still open at 4am, where we got some food and the waiter was so friendly and did table service at 4am which we were impressed with.
Our room we found lovely and highly convenient, there’s two parts to the hotel, a very modern renovated side and a what I would call normal looking side, they’re just not very modern. I’ve seen some negative reviews on this side but the rooms are still lovely and highly convenient being next to the main pool and near the main restaurant. I can semi understand someone’s frustration with being on the opposite side of the complex due to it being a 5-10 minute walk across the site, however the hotel is literally called mitsis rodos village, it’s going to be a big hotel, and also there are golf buggies escorting people around frequently with lovely staff so it’s not really a big issue.
The food I found was good, I personally really enjoyed the food, there was a lot of options in the main restaurant for breakfast, lunch and tea. How people can write a negative review saying there’s a lack of variety baffles me, breakfast you can have a fry up (obvs poshened up a bit), porridge, cereal stand, there’s a vast array of cakes and muffins, there’s fresh fruit and yoghurts, pancakes with lots of different toppings, and that’s just breakfast alone. Lunch and tea was very similar in that regard and a vast array of deserts as well, for a greedy sod like me I was in my element. The quality was good, some stuff was really really nice, sometimes it was dependent on how fresh it was, but that’s luck of the draw sometimes, some stuff was just good, don’t be expecting a Michelin star meal it is a buffet, but I found it a very tasty buffet. The A la cartes were good, we found the Asian and Italian the best, Greek was good, however we found the Mexican pretty average, but not bad ! My favourite part was the fact there was no limits on the amount of dishes we could order, which I found amazing! I did see one review mention it felt quite rushed / not a restaurant feeling, I got that feeling once but you can simply just ask for 10 mins before your next meal to come out and they have no problem doing so.
But the main thing me and my girlfriend were most impressed by were the staff, no matter what role they had, restaurant / entertainment/ cleaner / maintenance, they all were so friendly and said hello to you. But a massive special recognition to Tomas and Jacko, they really made our holiday, they were friendly and funny and made the activities around the pool a lot of fun, and took the time to sit and have a chat to you around the pool. Also special shout-out to my friend Kostas the lifeguard, he was so nice and helpful around the pool, he was also high fiving the kids and also went out of his way to find us sunbeds after they were all taken when we’d spent the morning in lindos. Mitsis, whatever you pay them three, pay them some more because they deserve it! The rest of the nice stuff of the hotel you would expect for a 5 star hotel, but the staff and especially those three in particular made the holiday !
