Lindos Breeze Beach Hotel

Don’t be misled by the 9.2 rating. Our experience at Lindos Breeze beach hotel was nowhere near 5-star standards. Ironically, Lindos Imperial hotel, rated 7.9 on booking.com had significantly better rooms. One day before our trip, our travel agency told us that the Deluxe Room we had booked could be on level -1 or 0. As I have respiratory issues, I specifically emailed the hotel asking them to make sure we would not receive a room affected by mold or dampness. We arrived and were given Family Room 6253, level 0 — with visible mold, malfunctioning bathroom fixtures and almost no sound insulation. We were told to stay there for three nights until our booked room became available. After insisting with both reception and our tour operator, we were moved after just one night. The hotel's explanation was that the Family Room was supposedly "better" than the Deluxe Room we had booked, and that we had requested a higher floor. If this was the "better" room, I honestly cannot imagine the condition of the Deluxe Room. We were then moved to Lindos Imperial for 2 nights, where the room 5113 was actually good. For the final 4 nights, we were moved back to Lindos Breeze, to Room 6363, level 1, another Family Room supposedly offering a "partial sea view." The room had children's beds smelling strongly of urine, stained pillows, damaged furniture and virtually no sound insulation. Three room moves during a 7-night holiday — and we never received the room we actually booked. The manager's response was equally disappointing: we were told that we hadn't paid for the room itself, but for the "facilities" of the neighboring Lindos Imperial property. This is not how we understood our booking. This response was extremely disappointing. Regardless of how the two properties are operated or marketed, guests should receive the room category and standard they have booked and paid for.
We also felt that management's attention would have been better directed toward basic operational details: cleanliness in the rooms and on balconies, functioning bathroom fixtures, furniture maintenance and adequate sound insulation. Having staff or management visibly dealing with luggage around the courtyard does not compensate for fundamental problems with room quality and hotel maintenance. The main restaurant was also disappointing: dirty, with old/damaged furniture and water leaking from the ceiling over dining areas. Buckets were placed underneath, with management attributing it to "35°C condensation." One positive gesture deserves mention: for our daughter's birthday, management sent a cake, champagne and a card. We appreciated it, but unfortunately this cannot compensate for the overall experience. We paid for a 7-night 5-star holiday and instead spent our vacation packing, unpacking and moving between rooms. For us, this was not a 5-star experience. We would not return. We had a very nice stay at the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and comfortable, and our room was cleaned every day. The food was delicious and there was a great variety to choose from. We were very happy with our holiday. The manager was also helpful and always available if we needed anything. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend the hotel.
