Scores out of 10 for the following:
Transfer: 6 2 hours going by coach and 1 hr return by mini bus
Location: 8 Right on it’s own beach but not much around apart from other hotels Bars and Restaurants 10 mins away
Check In/ Reception: 10 Excellent staff and free upgrade Nice welcome and a lovely clean and bright reception area
Rooms: 9 Great location near pools and restaurent. Good space and very clean
Pool Areas: 7 Lots of choice and warm pools Pools became dirty and not cleaned whilst we were there Also no access for disabled guest Sun-beds had to be taken by 7:30 for best ones but there was plenty
Bars: 7: main bar staff were excellent Pool bar chap worked his socks off as they appeared to be short staffed Beach bar was a massive disappointment when we got there found out it had changed and was not all inclusive ……. Why why why?
Thanks to Thanos the main bars manager who rescued our last night after a poor experience at the BBQ and really looked after us
Beach: 6 plenty of sun beds a mixture of shingle and sand but entry to sea very dodgy Again beach bar had to pay so was empty ….. what a waste
Drinks: 5 not the best, beer and wine ok rest drinkable including poor cocktails
Food: 9 food quality and choice very good mainly Regional Greek nights and some theme nights in main restaurants Pizza bar - good Gyros/burger - good Complaint against the al a carte restaurants as you had to pay for drinks ….. really in an all inclusive hotel? We booked then cancelled (tight gits I know but principles)
Staff: 10 very friendly and hard working Could do with more around pools
Entertainment/Team: 10 exceptional Their Showman Show was first class Shout out to both Xavier (pity about the Netherlands) and his lovely fiancé (Shyla - still owe me a fridge magnet)
We had a great time just beach bar drinks let it down and that’s why I scored it 4 not 5 (harsh I know)
We would go back
Joey is the bets bartender around. Give the man a pay rise!
I had a lovely stay, the food variety was good there is food for picky eaters as well as people who enjoy trying different things! The drink were lovely and the staff were so friendly, one of the hardest working staff was joey he was non stop working at the pool bar, morning until evening constantly yet was happy to see us and was a treat to be around!!! The man definitely deserves a holiday and a raise.
Just returning home after a week at the Miraluna Beach Resort . Location is not the best it's quite remote and nowhere to walk too .I was hoping that the beach front would be a nice walk but the beach is grey shingle and not the best to walk on .The sea looked beautiful but very stony and pebbly to get in . I would advise if you want to explore then hire a car or there are a few buses that will take you to the nearest towns for a few euros each day .
The room we had was a good size and a nice balcony overlooking the Athena pool area . Quiet part of the resort which suited us . Lovely comfortable bed and room was kept clean the whole stay . Bathroom needs updating,on booking I knew it would be a shower over the bath but wasn't expecting to have a shower curtain that you had to fight with each shower .Maybe a screen would be better.
Pool area was a nice space but not enough beds or umbrellas by far ! The Athena poolside had some trees that gave some shade but everyone would be crammed into this space to get some respite from the sun . I did report on 2 consecutive days that they needed more sunbeds and umbrellas . Generally a lot of the beds are stained and grubby.Fortunately we always got beds but some times without shade .Witnessed families sat on towels on the patio floor on more than one occasion/ day ...not ideal really !
The staff were generally very polite and they all worked so hard ...I don't know names but the two boys who ran the main bar were amazing always smiling and polite even though it was extremely busy ...well done ! A lovely lady ran the Athena bar again always a lovely smile and a little chat ! Staff seemed well trained and happy in their roles .
Speciality restaurants are definitely worth booking. The food was definitely an upgrade to the main restaurant / poolside bars , it was nice to be served at a set table too . You do have to buy your own drinks at these restaurants...glass of wine/ bottle of beer/ bottle of water 6 euros each roughly. The food in the main restaurant was a let down to us , always the same and luke warm . Breakfast no juice / smoothies / no nice coffees,/ pots of tea /no egg station where you could get you eggs cooked fresh and hot .Nothing special.
After putting a review in regarding the restaurants that I had been asked to fill in , I was invited to discuss with the manager my comments.I thought it was nice that they had reached out to me and do hope they take the comments constructively to improve for future guests .
Local alcoholic drinks were awful, ended up buying our own from the onsite supermarket. They do have branded alcohol on the bars but you pay for them. Not big drinkers so this wasn't the end of the world for us but it would have been nice to have had a cocktail/ mocktail of the day as even these lists were never changed.Same again always the same .
With some tweaking this resort could be so much better.
Dimitris and Andrew are the best Rezeption guys in the whole world
