This family-friendly resort is situated in the ancient town of Ialyssos, 7 km from the city of Rhodes. Rhodes International Airport is some 8 km from the accommodation. This is a stylish beachfront resort with panoramic sea views. It has 268 double rooms and 103 suites, and was fully renovated in 2008. This air-conditioned hotel has a hairdressing salon, an auditorium, a games room and a TV lounge offering something for guests to do in their spare time. Younger visitors can make use of the children's playground and kids' club. The hotel features an outdoor swimming pool and a children's swimming area. Convenient refreshments can be found at the poolside snack bar and health enthusiasts will appreciate the gym and sauna. Various water sport activities are also available.

The hotel is not a 4*, is a basic 2* at a push 3* nothing more , details and pictures are very misleading .
Complex dated, basic, customer service poor, ripped furniture in reception ,food n drinks very basic, no brands. Grubby in areas, pictures on website misleading, so don't be fooled definitely not 4* more like a 3 if not a 2*, nothing like any 4 * hotels i have been to before, now blue sea village that's a 4* hotel. And this was our emergency overnight hotel due to cancelled flight on Tuesday gone.. broken sunbeds and tatty unbellas Sunshine Rhodes Hotel is not! No kettles in rooms, no concierge, no brand named drinks, food average. Majority of the bar/,counter staff rude talking on phones and keep you waiting, reception unhelpful, no information given at check in, no beach towels available. Very tired n rundown Complex.. won't be back anytime soon, all website offering this hotel as a 4* need to go and visit and down grade it as its falsely advertising it!

Worst Hotel Ever - Sunshine Rhodes Hotel
I don't normally write reviews, but I just felt I needed to this time so that other families don't have the same bad experiences. We go on family vacations quite often, but the Sunshine Rhodes Hotel is by far the worst I have ever been to. Rooms were filthy and not cleaned some of the reception staff were extremely rude especially the team that worked on the morning of the 06/09. Don't bother asking for help because they not interested the evening bar staff were not very friendly and overall, the resort is very dated and run down. The food was also below standard. The area of Ialyssos was lovely and there were many other hotels which we will use in the future. So overall advice to families is to avoid the Sunshine Rhodes Hotel all together.
Now here are a few positives, Billy did a great job of entertainment, Chris and the Afternoon bar team were awesome. And the ground staff were also very friendly.
Great location and outdoor facilities but everything else was poor.
The real shame about this hotel is it has so much potential but they need to spend some money on it! The outdoor area is like a different hotel - good pools, looks clean, great location if you don't mind a pebbly beach (buy swim shoes). The quality of the food and drink is not great, we ended up eating out a number of times. The air con in the hotel is very poor. Hardly works in the reception and main areas so in the heat of the summer it is really uncomfortable. Same in the rooms - ours was poor and while they did send someone to fix it, it made no difference. In the second room they had an air con stand alone unit and that was better, but for a hotel of this size and for what you pay, it is very poor. Spare bed was unmade and the cover on it covered in stains. Also the decor inside - cheap leather look (plastic) armchairs, many of which have been ripped, revealing the foam interior. Hotel inside very sloppy and tired looking and due to the poor air con, be prepared to stick to it. So, great location, great facilities outside but food, drink, air con, decor poor to very poor and so we would not book again. Also the older guy on reception needs some training in customer services, he gave me the key to someone else's room when I arrived (I walked into them in bed!!) and was hardly apologetic and at one stage frankly rude.
