Pylea Beach

First time visiting Rhodes and this little hotel was just right for us. Very peaceful with lovely gardens and pool area, looking out to the beach and seafront.
We had a ground floor room with a small patio overlooking the garden, also could see the sea from our room. Room very clean and modern, fridge and air conditioning as well as decent amount of storage for the two of us - although the wardrobe doesn't really work for long dresses or trousers as it's got a shelf underneath it. Nice modern bathroom with rain shower, again very clean. Room was made up every day by the lovely cleaning team. Check in and check out were seamless. Breakfast was good with a good choice of continental and hot food. The pool bar offers decent lunch time choices but we didn't order anything, however we noted that others did and the food looked good. The hotel was pretty quiet which suited us and there were no issues getting a sunbed, on some days it was almost like having a private pool! If you want to travel to Rhodes town, go next door to the Bay Hotel and see the agent in there, Kyriaki, it's 9€ return per person and the transport is an 8 seater taxi with air conditioning, very good value for money and dedicated time for pickup and return journey. Be aware that although the hotel was quiet it's on the direct flight path and lots of planes go over from early morning until late, we got used to it pretty quickly but it is noisy! There's not a lot in the local area, a few restaurants which are not that authentic and only serve a small Greek menu, most of them are serving pizza and pasta and burgers which we were disappointed with.
All in all we really enjoyed our short break at the Pylea, would recommend this hotel for chilled and relaxed atmosphere. If you are looking for something more lively then it's maybe not for you as there wasn't any entertainment whilst we were there, probably due to end of season maybe. We didn't pay for late checkout, which was 40€, but you can use the pool shower and changing room, which were ok but the shower was cold and isn't attached to the wall so couldn't wash our hair! Ok for a quick wash down before the flight home.

Lovely hotel very friendly staff. Very clean. Lovely beach front property. Found it very hard getting in and out of the sea though. No one’s fault just difficult with or without beach shoes due to large stone and waves. Gave everyone a laugh though watching me. It is on a direct flight path to the airport and that means around 80 planes landing a day but doesn’t really bother you after a while. Didn’t notice any after 11pm unless they were late. Pool clean. Well maintained but don’t think there is any chlorine In it. Rooms spotless. Was b & b and even with my pickiness I ate well every morning. Lunch is served by the pool bar. Very nice and varied menus. I did eat in the evening at the bayside taverns. Also very good food and reasonably priced.
