Lovely hotel and staff, room was comfortable and very clean. Nice new fittings and decorations, big balcony and nice shower and bathroom. The actual hotel was very clean and well presented. Food was very good lots of options and different things every evening. Bar was good with a variety of drinks. Beach was nice but personally prefer sandy beach. No complaints, maybe wake up extra early if you want a certain sun bed. We had a brilliant stay and would recommend 100%, totally somewhere we would come back to.
It's very good hotel, special thanks to Marta ho is working behind the bar . Very nice and very helpful girl. She makes the best cocktails. She always offering something special and we don't need to reach in the menu. Perfect show's and very good animation team. We loved Joe as well, very helpful and very good energy from him. Nothing else but the best holidays and best experience.
Amazing service, everything was amazing I loved every day of it
Beautiful hotel . Very clean rooms. Helpful and very friendly staff. A special thanks to Marta who is behind the bar. She’s lovely and very professional.
I know I have rated this a little low but that was down to our experience which was a little unlucky, but take out our situation and I think this place is top notch.
The hotel itself is stunning internally and externally with a sandstone backdrop and black ornamental features.
The cleanliness is unbeatable and the staff are the best.
Room type - we had a one bedroom suite, which was beautiful. The only thing to note is that the lounge had no natural light aside from a small frosted fixed window into a sheltered internal walkway. Not a problem but just something to note.
Where it went wrong for us….we arrived late and assigned a room on ground floor which regrettably had no hot water, a broken patio door and intermittent WiFi! The balcony looked onto a small grassed area which has a few things left in there (a traffic cone, large bottle of maybe engine fuel) and some litter (likely poor guest behaviour) The area was also fully shaded all day.
We reported the patio door as soon as we woke the next morning and it didn’t get looked at until we chased it again the following day which was disappointing, because it was a ground floor suite, it meant we had no security. We reported the cold water and the lovely guy did his best to try and sort it, but couldn’t. So until they moved us to a new room on the Monday, we had very uncomfortable cold showers (Fri, Sat and Sun)
However once we moved we were really happy, the room was a lot smaller but it was beautiful and perfect, looking over the hotel entrance with warm morning sunshine.
The food was lovely and they had by far the best coffee of any hotel I have stayed at :)
The drinks were a little tricky for me, I am not a big drinker and so little fussy and only really enjoy drink sparkling white wine (Prosecco / cava kind of thing) regrettably you had to pay €30 for a bottle so my husband went to the shop down the road and bought me a couple to last the 10nights we were there instead. I actually would have maybe drank cider but it wasn’t available either.
The pool - The pool area is lovely, however for the entirety of our stay, we didn’t get to sit by it and enjoy it! You would go down for breakfast at 7am and every single bed was reserved with towels! By 8am still no one there, just towels!! The hotel also has a grassed area and a beach area, so there are other places to find a bed and 8/10 times you will get a bed there if you happy to search around. It’s a tricky one as this is down to the behaviour of the guess so is a little outside of the hotel’s control. There was a notification that came through the app that said from the Monday staff will remove towels that have been left to reserve beds, but Monday was the day we left, so didn’t get to benefit from that! However fair play to the hotel for trying to solve this problem.
This pool issue motivated us to adventure out every day, so we ended up spending so much more money than we bargained on! However, I wouldn’t change any of it as we made so many amazing memories exploring the surrounding areas, Lindos, Old Rhodes town and Marmaris!
The entertainment - we watch a couple of acts. We were excited to get involved in a game of bingo however you have to pay to play! I thought this a tad strange! We ended up buying a pack of cards from the lovely onsite shop and sat on our balcony each night instead.
The Cats - what can I say! Having cats around a hotel in Greece is exactly how it should be! There are around 7 who you will get to know in your stay! If you like cats, you will likely fall in love with them! They are excellent catchers of the huge scary grasshoppers that will most definitely will come across on your stay, but fear not, they will be expertly removed by the fury staff :)
If I had the money, I would have taken them all to the vets to be spayed and neutered, just so their lives are a little more comfortable and less hectic! My daughter fell in love with a young tabby who spends most or her day away from the others and near the onsite shop! Again of I had a spare £2k, I would have rescued her back to the Isle of Man with us for sure!
Oh and you will get to see lots of nesting Barn Swallows too, which is so lovely!
Our daughter is 16yrs and we have always gone for all inclusive as it is perfect for kids. I think it’s likely time for us to change how we holiday moving forward as if we hadn’t of adventured out each day, she said she would have been bored! The animation team were lovely but incredibly young and reserved. If I compare to our holiday last year in Portugal where my daughter was scooped up by the animation team daily to play all sorts of fun things which linked her in with other kids of her age, it’s a big difference from a teens holiday fun perspective.
So to conclude, D’Andrea Mare is a beautiful all inclusive hotel in a area of Rhodes that offers a cool breeze even on the hottest of days, it is picture perfect with great food and great coffee! Certainly a wonderful place for families with young children.
