10 kilometres from Rhodes Town with its picturesque medieval walled city and countless historic and modern attractions, this elegant hotel combines easy access to the local points of interest with a secluded location just a 5-minute walk from the most popular beach on the island. Especially popular among families with children, the complex offers not only a large outdoor pool with sun loungers and parasols, but a fantastic waterpark with numerous thrilling water slides, a children's pool and a playground. After a day of sun, water and fun, guests will appreciate the spacious rooms with individually controlled air-conditioning. Those who prefer a more environment-friendly way of cooling down, can have a refreshing drink on the breezy balcony and patio of their suites.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Came here just after Covid then returned a year after and it’s always been our favourite holiday nice and small a lot around food lovely and a lot for kids
It had a very nice atmosphere and pleasant staff
Sun Palace Hotel Review – 4/5
Sun Palace benefits from a good location right at the start of the Faliraki strip. It’s only a 10-minute walk to the beach, the slides are good, and the early-evening football games for both children and adults are a bonus. The onsite shop is reasonably priced, which is handy.
Trips to Old Rhodes Town, Lindos and Simi are highly recommended. Simi in particular is a long day out, but it’s really worth the effort. Just be aware that the staff on the Simi ferry aren’t good with people — expect to fight for a seat on busy days as they oversubscribe each trip.
The mixed reviews make sense once you’ve stayed. The food is average, and there’s a clear difference in standard between the refurbished rooms and the older ones. Most of the staff are generally good, but a few are awkward and the overall friendliness doesn’t match what you get in the top hotels. Evening entertainment is also quite repetitive. Soft drinks and ‘juices’ are crazily sugary.
You will see repair requirements absolutely everywhere. A building inspector would have a heart attack. This is not uncommon for Greece and Turkey hotels though to be honest!
Overall, Sun Palace isn’t amazing, but it’s pretty much what you’d expect for the money. A solid 4/5 for a straightforward stay in Faliraki.
After we saw the negative reviews, I was a little hesitant of coming here. But for the price we paid, we knew it wasn’t going to be five star luxury. The waterpark is really good. You’re a short walk to the beach and near the strip full of shops and restaurants. The food is okay to be expected in these sort of places none of us have been ill. There’s always food available chips ice cream and drinks perfect for the kids the room is clean. Or working facilities overall, the place is a tad tired but then again the price you’re paying not sure what people are expecting. The evening Entertainment is good and there’s plenty on for the kids throughout the day. My kids just wanted to stay in the waterpark every day we went on a day trip to Rhodes and a trip to Turkey whilst we were here which was good and there is Watersports on The Beach. Going in the height of the six week holidays, I was worried we would not get a lounger or chairs for the evening entertainment but this was never an issue. Also, the weather was just perfect not ridiculously hot.
We had a very good experince. It is perfect for family, with pools and waterpark. Very nice entertainment, beautiful shows, good food, kind personal. At the pool you feel safe with kids, because they have lifeguard always watching..The room was clean.
