An Unforgettable Family Holiday at Mitsis Alila – Simply Outstanding ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Where do I even begin?

We have just returned from nine incredible days at Mitsis Alila, and I can honestly say it is one of the best all-inclusive holidays we've ever had. We travelled as a family group of 18 people, celebrating some huge milestones:

• My Dad's 80th birthday
• My son's 7th birthday
• My nephew's 8th birthday
• My niece's 16th birthday
• Mine and my wife's 10-year wedding anniversary

With a group this size, there's always the possibility that something won't go to plan. Instead, the team at Mitsis Alila made every single celebration feel special and memorable.

What stood out most wasn't just the beautiful hotel, the food or the facilities—it was the people.

From the moment we arrived, the front-of-house team welcomed us warmly and helped us with all of our luggage, setting the tone for what would be an exceptional stay.

The Bars

The bar team deserve a review of their own.

The quality of the drinks and cocktails was genuinely top tier. I'm a huge fan of a Spiced Rum Sour, and after the first couple of nights we had pretty much drunk them out of stock! Rather than simply saying they had run out, the team made sure they stayed stocked for the rest of our holiday. That's the sort of attention to detail that makes guests feel valued.

Special mention to Magda and Ilius, the Bar Manager. Looking after a group of 18 is no easy task, yet they always managed to find us tables, made sure we were looked after and somehow made everything seem effortless. Outstanding service throughout.

The Food

The food was exceptional.

One thing that often happens with all-inclusive holidays is that after a few days everything starts to feel repetitive.

Not here.

There was such an incredible variety every day. The fresh salads were always vibrant and beautifully prepared, the grilled meats were cooked perfectly, there were plenty of healthy options alongside indulgent treats, and despite eating there for over a week, it never once felt repetitive.

The quality and consistency across every restaurant was seriously impressive.

The Italian restaurant was fantastic.

The Pan-Asian restaurant was probably our favourite in the whole resort.

The Mexican and Chinese Grab & Go stations were also a brilliant addition—perfect when you wanted something quick without compromising on quality.

The creperie was another huge hit, especially with the kids. Fresh crêpes were made to order and completely customised however you wanted them, with a fantastic choice of toppings and fillings. It quickly became one of our family's favourite stops throughout the day.

An enormous thank you goes to Executive Chef Panagiotis and Executive Sous Chef Stavros.

Not only was the food outstanding all week, but they also helped make my son's 7th birthday incredibly special. Their attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond didn't go unnoticed.

Thank you also to Chet, Michalis and the entire Main Restaurant team who worked tirelessly every single day.

Beach & Pool

The beach service was excellent.

Jordanis and the whole beach team kept us laughing all week, especially with our now-famous "Halkidiki" special drink!

A big thank you to Nikoletta, who looked after us brilliantly whenever we had our beach cabana.

And I have to mention the pizza chef on the beach—an absolute machine! Constantly producing fresh pizzas all day long with a smile. It was genuinely impressive to watch.

Spa

A wonderful spa experience.

A huge thank you to Irina, and also to the very tall masseuse with black hair whose name I sadly can't remember (I believe it started with an "S"), along with the rest of the spa team.

Professional, relaxing and exactly what we needed.

Housekeeping

A special thank you to Cindy, who kept our room spotless every single day.

It's easy to overlook housekeeping because so much of their work happens behind the scenes, but they play such an important role in making a holiday enjoyable. Thank you.

In fact, I'd like to thank every member of housekeeping and all the back-of-house teams that guests rarely get to meet. Hotels don't run this smoothly without an incredible team working behind the scenes.

Leadership

Finally, the person leading it all...

Lefteris, the General Manager.

You can immediately tell when a hotel is led by someone who genuinely cares about guest experience.

Lefteris was always visible around the resort, always smiling, always welcoming and always happy to stop for a conversation.

On the very rare occasion that something small didn't quite go to plan, he didn't just resolve it—he went above and beyond to make things right.

The effort he and his team put into making my son's birthday so memorable genuinely meant a lot to our family.

That level of care filters throughout the entire hotel and is reflected in every member of staff we met.

One Small Suggestion

If I had one small recommendation, it would be around the kids' entertainment.

The Kids Club itself is great, but it operates with an open-door policy rather than being a supervised drop-off club. That's absolutely fine, but it's worth parents knowing they need to stay nearby as children are free to leave whenever they wish.

I'd also suggest starting the children's evening entertainment slightly earlier—around 8:15–8:30pm—as it currently overlaps with the adult entertainment, making it difficult for families to enjoy both.

Final Thoughts

What makes Mitsis Alila truly special isn't just the stunning location, beautiful facilities or exceptional food.

It's the people.

Every single person we met—from the chefs, servers and bartenders to housekeeping, beach staff, maintenance, reception, porters and all the incredible back-of-house teams—worked unbelievably hard to create unforgettable memories for our family.

To everyone whose name I've mentioned, and to the many others whose names I sadly can't remember...

Excellent service, you have a lovely employee named Elena.

This hotel met all our expectations. This was our first visit to the hotel. As you walk in through the entrance to the lobby and can see the beautiful blue sea in the sunlight it gives a taste of what is to come. We were given our bands quickly at reception and were advised to go have some lunch before the buffet closed. We would then get our welcome brief afterwards. We did this, but unfortunately we didn’t get given any further info, after we went back after lunch, so most things we had to figure out on our own. We were shown to our spacious sea view room on the fifth floor which was beautiful. All the staff we encountered at the hotel were very friendly and welcoming, the staff really are an asset to this hotel. Josephine doing the beach service is amazing and the ladies at the champagne bar are the friendliest we’ve ever encountered. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here the rooms are comfortable and have a bath with an over head shower and also a separate shower cubicle. The mini bar is restocked daily. The food at the buffet is of a high standard and we tried all the à la carte restaurants and couldnt fault any of them. The creperie serves waffles, crepes, ice creams, drinks, cakes and pastries.

The only minor issues we had, were the toilets. Some didn’t have working locks and the ones by the adult pool didnt have any locks at all. I know there had been a storm damaging the beach but the new beach toilets didn’t have doors on them the whole week we were there. These were only very minor issues and didn’t impact our holiday at all

This is a fabulous hotel with great service and very friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel and would return as soon as I can.
