Cyprotel Faliraki Hotel

Stayed here for 10 days in July 2026.

Starting with the rooms, these are very tired and dated but very clean, I will minus 1 star for the blood stains on the mattress protector. Outside of our room, 4011, there was a pretty horrible drain smell for the first few days however this smell didn't make it's way into the room and dissapeared.

Despte being tired, the beds are comfortable, the rooms are relatively quiet and all the facilities in the room work.

Silly things such as a kettle but no tea or coffee? Also, nothing to hang your wet swimming clothes on the Balcony. 

The AC is not the best but does eventually do the job. The doors are still operated by an actual key.

You do only get 1 bottle of water per guest at the start of the holiday with refill stations available however this refill water is rarely cold. There is a fridge in the room that works well. The refill station in the buffet restaurant has to be the slowest tap known to man and develops long waits as people fill up multiple bottles.

The buffet restaurant is really nice, the food is good with a small but good selection with something different every day, can't fault it. The Asian night is poor, the food is bland and tasteless. If you are going to go out for dinner, do it on Asian night. Breakfast is the usual Eggs, Potatoes, Bacon (not like English bacon) and Beans alongside Youghurt, Cereals, Pastries, etc. 

The foyer has no air con so isn't really a comfortable place to sit when waiting for transport.

The public toilets are not common and when they are it is typically a single toilet.

The hotel has 2 pools and a Waterpark. The Waterpark features 5 good slides with a good pool at the bottom and a kids area with a very small slide and some splash features and is around 40cm deep. The other 2 pools are good and again very clean. You do find sunbeds toweled up early doors apart from in the Waterpark as this doesn't open till 10am. Again, people wait in line pop about 5 towels down and dissappear.

The snack bar has self serve soft drinks and beer. Soft drinks and water are also available in the Waterpark area via self serve. The soft drinks are of very poor quality. The beer is decent enough however you mainly get paper cups. The juice is also super sweet and not real fruit juice. Overall the drinks are quite poor. On numerous occasions I asked for one drink and got something else. Highly recommend brininging your own drinks containers for bigger drinks and less trips.

The wine and beer bar does just that and these offer polycarbonate cups same with the pool bar and the range of cocktails which again is typically all inclusive cocktails.

You also have the rooftop bar which serves drinks in glass but it is the same quality of drinks as the rest of the hotel. The cocktails are nothing fancy with no "trimmings"

The entertainment is average with hard concrete like steps to sit on. Some of the entertainment was outside the beer and wine bar however seats are very limited so only a small number get to sit and watch. The mini disco starts around 9pm and lasts around 30 minutes.

The hotel does offer free WiFi but only in common areas. It can be quite patchy and frequently drops out. I purchased a travel e Sim which worked great apart from in the room likely due to the thick stone walls.

Our children did use the kids club and they very much enjoyed it. It did seem that the French children with club jumbo very much took priority being looked after by the club jumbo reps who often relegated the other children to 1 or 2 tables. 

There is a bus stop that is about 5 mins walk down the hill. This bus is lovely and air conditioned and is €2.50 per adult all the way to Rhodes.

The Faliraki fun train is a good thing to do with the kids and using get your guide gets you good pricing on the excursions rather than booking the same thing inside the hotel.

In terms of excursions we did Farma Rhodes which was a really good few hours out for young kids. We also visited Lindos via collection about a 10 minute walk down the hill which was a lovely, but hot, day out.

We also took the public bus to Rhodes to visit the old town which is lovely followed by a submarine boat trip which is nice but not the best.

Proberly wouldn't come here again has been to better for the same kind of money.

I don't normally leave reviews, but after spending over £5k on a 10-day family holiday for two adults and two teenagers, I felt it was important to share our experience. This is, just our personal opinion and experience. Before booking, I chose to ignore the smaller negative reviews, but unfortunately many of the issues mentioned turned out to be true so I will definitely take this into consideration looking at future holidays.

Overall, we don't feel this hotel is a 4-star rating. The rooms were very dated, small and in definite need of refurbishment as it felt it was slap dash. Our bathroom was mouldy everywhere with a mouldy shower curtain, the mattress topper was dirty, and the bed sheets had simply been turned over rather than changed by housekeeping, we left a mark on purpose and each time it was either turned over/around out of sight. We had 2 towels for a family of 4 we had to keep going to reception for them. We had a kettle in our room when we arrived on a tray with just 2 paper cups. No coffee sachets, milk or water, we had to go to the supermarket and buy our own after asking many times. We had a mini fridge that didn't work. A great TIP - take an extension lead!! There was only 2 sockets in the whole room one on one side of the adult bed and one on the dressing table. We had to share the socket between us all to charge phones, iPad, use hairdryer/straighteners or shaver etc. There was no sockets in bathroom to shave/hairdryer as in most hotels we have stayed at even 3 star!

The pools were one of the highlights and we really enjoyed them they were a good size and we enjoyed the afternoon water volleyball the entertainment team were fun. However, the evening entertainment was disappointing, and the pool bar area is far too small for the number of guests. People were carrying chairs from the snack bar across the bridge just to find somewhere to sit, while others ended up sitting on sunbeds around the pool in the evenings, where many of us were being bitten.

The sunbed situation was another frustration. We saw guests putting towels out straight after the evening entertainment to reserve beds for the following day. If not then, people were reserving them from as early as 5:30am. Unless you're up very early, finding a sunbed is extremely difficult. The hotel do offer a sunbed towel service which was good you could swap your towels daily for fresh ones.

Most of the staff were lovely and worked hard especially the entertainment team. Although one member of the reception team wasn't particularly helpful. We asked on arrival if we could pay to extend our room on our final day because our flight wasn't until midnight. We were told we wouldn't know until the day before departure. When we asked again, we were told it wasn't possible, despite there appearing to be rooms sitting empty until late that evening. The only alternative offered was booking a shower room slot at midday as that was all that was left, which wasn't much use when our flight wasn't until much later on at night. They do have a poster on the reception which makes it look like this is guaranteed so I wouldn't take much notice of it.

The food was another disappointment. The snack bar was okay if you were happy with chips and nuggets, but it often felt chaotic, with people pushing in and flies around the food because lids had been left open. The drinks machine was always dispensing warm drinks, with only a small picnic cooler box of melting ice cubes in it and never topped up. The soft drinks were all non-branded and tasted like soda water. They use a standard base spirit for the alcohol drinks and only served at the pool bar it was mainly served pre-mixed cocktails in small plastic cups. They had a beer and wine hut across the way but no other drinks or ice was served there. The doughnut balls in the snack bar and the ice-cream was lovely my teenagers lived off these.

The main restaurant was incredibly busy and felt more like a cattle market than a relaxing dining experience. Guests were constantly queuing, pushing past each other and grabbing food. The selection was very limited and very repetitive, with empty trays often left unrefilled. Breakfast was one of the best we've experienced, very limited selection with no freshly cooked omelettes, just trays of fried eggs, sometimes boiled eggs and other standard buffet items. The oldish man in the restaurant who cleans up was lovely and polite he always praised our kids for cleaning up after themselves.

Because of this, we chose to eat out on several occasions. We took the little train into Faliraki centre that comes to the hotel, where we had some lovely food, and the beach there was a fantastic day out. There is also a sports bar at the bottom of the street from the hotel it is located on the main road just past the supermarkets. They do fantastic large cocktails for 5 euros and food! Darts, pool and sports tv. The supermarkets are just located at the bottom of the hill from the hotel they sell most things.

We have stayed at 3,4 & 5 star hotels so we don't want this to sound like snobs with the review it's just a genuine experience but with some attention to detail to things around the hotel and better improvements to the dining experience, this hotel could be much better, but for the amount we paid we wouldn't return.

It was nice hotel with very good customer service. There were a lot activities around the hotel area for kids and adults as well. The room was as expected (clean and quiet).
