Mykonos Theoxenia is a design hotel in Mykonos Island and one of the most famous hotels in Greece. With fresh, modern aesthetic, this 5-star hotel in Mykonos Island unfolds its very best, in order to captivate you as the best of Mykonos Hotels.
The hotel is a member of the Design Hotels and was fully renovated in 2022.
The hotel features Apanemi Restaurant. Voyage Culinaire, the renowned duo, Jerome Serres & Yannis Baxevanis, take the Mykonian dining experience to the next level. Two award-winning chefs, one French, the other, Greek, with their mystique of Michelin stars, come together at Apanemi, our new venture, creating signature dishes and degustation menus for a season of high gastronomy and memorable dining at the Mykonos Theoxenia.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
My wife and I traveled to Mykonos for a wedding and our first two days were at the Theoxenia hotel. We were greeted by Julia who gave us a tour of the hotel and arranged for our bags to be delivered. This worked out quite well as we had just arrived from the US and were very tired.
The hotel is well-located at the edge of Little Venice and this makes it easy to visit old Mykonos. The facility is well maintained and the service is outstanding. That alone would be enough for us to recommend Theoxenia.
The key for us, though, was that my wife needed a doctor the day after we arrived. Julia and her team took immediate ownership and got us the help we needed. It felt like we were part of the family. When you need medical help in a foreign country, six time zones from where you live, it's a great comfort to have the kind of support that Theoxenia offered. My wife got better quickly but we will always be grateful for the help and support of Julia and her team.
The most hidden gem in Mykonos hotels. Worth every penny. Private and serene yet steps from all the Mykonos hotspots. Literally behind the windmills. Stunning architecture. Gracious staff. Serene pools with plenty of beds and great service. The breakfast buffet should be in the Michelin guide and the restaurant should be on your list even if you don’t stay here. We cannot sing more praise. There was nothing we found lacking except it would be nice to have screens in the small window over the bed so we could leave it open and not worry about bugs coming in. PS the cats are well cared for so don’t let that worry you.
Amazing location central to Mykonos town/little Venice so there’s a lot within walking distance and easy to transfer to Zuma, Scorpios and various beach clubs. The room was relaxing with an incredible view. The service staff were amazing from top to bottom. I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.
We spent two wonderful nights at Mykonos Theoxenia, booked with points, and it was a truly memorable experience! It was early May, so not many people at the hotel, and we got a real 5-star treatment from the moment we arrived and were welcomed with drinks while they showed us around the property. Among other nice gestures, they left a complimentary bottle of prosecco and fruit in our room, and even offered us a ride to our next hotel. Everyone was super friendly, with a special thanks to the concierge, the manager, and the great staff at breakfast. Breakfast was a feast, a huge buffet to choose from, and eggs and other dishes to order. The hotel is historic and very beautiful. We had a big and quiet room, with a nice balcony and a very comfortable bed. And the location is perfect, right in front of the windmills, a short walk to Little Venice and near the bus stop.
The hotel has a long history and is in a perfect location just behind the famous windmills and a short walk to Little Venice.
They provide a complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport/ferry port which is hugely beneficial. There's a very nice pool area and pool bar (complimentary water is provided), and they have a private pathway down to a small public beach.
Our room was strangely designed with the main sink/mirror opposite the bed and a closet either side of the sink featuring a shower room and small toilet. It was functional with a partial sea view but definitely not the best design by any means. It did include all mod cons such as a coffee machine, robes and slippers. However, we were disappointed that they didn’t replenish the bottle of drinking water and the coffee capsules during our stay.
The 'gym' was basically a tiny room with a bike, treadmill and a few weights...it was definitely a token gym and really not worth having.
On the plus side, breakfast was very good and served in a lovely venue. It consisted of a large buffet plus cooked-to-order eggs, etc. The staff were also very friendly and helpful throughout the hotel.
