The luxury experience for those who seek the ultimate pleasure in each and every moment is now called Kyma, the Greek word for “wave” or rather a tide of unprecedented indulgence. Standing on top of the famous Myconian hill, all dressed up in the original Myconian white color and nature's bright light bliss, this 5 star Luxury hotel is the offspring of the 4K Hotels, the first member of Myconian Collection Hotels and Resorts and an all-time-classic destination for international jet setters, for more than five decades.
Myconian Kyma reflects the sun in a mystical ‘hide and seek' game, right between the straight lines and the curves of the Cycladic architecture. Neither superficially trendy nor traditionally ordinary, it is soothing and yet utterly spoiling. Its striking rooms and suites, exquisitely designed and decorated - some of them with their own private pool overlooking the deep blue and even more with private, delightful hot tubs, the restaurant with an authentic Mediterranean orientation, the hip bar located by the main pool with a panoramic view over this iconic island and a state-of-the-art huge spa for long, comforting sessions… is just the beginning of a wonderfully lavish experience. Anything can happen here, in the elegant chic side of the Myconian life.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
From the moment we arrived until the day we left, our experience was absolutely outstanding. The hospitality was exceptional, and every detail made us feel welcome and comfortable.
The room was spotless, beautifully maintained, and cleaned to a very high standard every day. The bed was extremely comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and everything in the room was in excellent condition. It was clear that the owners genuinely care about providing a high-quality experience for their guests.
The location was excellent—close enough to beaches, restaurants, and local attractions, yet peaceful and quiet, allowing us to relax and enjoy our stay. Waking up every morning in such a beautiful environment made the holiday even more special.
What truly sets this place apart is the kindness and professionalism of the hosts. They were always available to help, offered great recommendations, and made us feel more like friends than guests. Their warm hospitality created a welcoming atmosphere that is difficult to find.
The entire property was clean, well-organized, and beautifully presented. Every area reflected attention to detail and genuine pride in maintaining a high standard.
The value for money was excellent, and our expectations were exceeded in every way. It is rare to find accommodation that combines comfort, cleanliness, excellent service, and such a friendly atmosphere all in one place.
We would happily return without hesitation and will definitely recommend this hotel to our family and friends. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable. We look forward to visiting again in the future!
Set on a hill not far from Mykonos Town (easy walk) with great views over the town and nearby beach - and fabulous sunsets. The atmosphere, decor, service and amenities were fantastic. There are three properties on the site too with great restaurants and pools. My room was upgraded to a suite in the Korali sister property and was superb. The Myconian properties were well above most five stars.
Great location, close to town & clean. Rest of our stay was disappointing. Booked a room with a land view & when we arrived we were shown a room with an enclosed balcony so the view was of a brick wall. Manager was only interested in providing an alternative at 230 euros per night more or a smaller room with a picture balcony. After 1.5hrs, we were given a room in the sister hotel which was originally reserved for cabin crew that were staying for only a few hours. Due to the late check in & room issues on arrival, we arrived 8 mins late for breakfast the following morning. Food & drink was still on the buffet but we were told that if we took an orange juice they would have to charge us as it was past 11am. This was a general theme, everything came at a cost & it felt like the hotel were not interested in creating an experience where you would want to return or recommend the hotel to others. The swimming pool was exceptionally cold & unusable. No guests were swimming. Such a shame as Mykonos is beautiful & if I return it will be to an alternative hotel.
If you are planning an escape to the Island of the Winds, the Myconian Kyma sits in a prime spot just above Mykonos Town. With its crisp whitewashed architecture, Aegean vistas, and design-led spaces, it delivers plenty of Aegean magic—though a few operational quirks are worth keeping in mind before you book.
The Highlights: Warm Hospitality & Great Ambience The real crown jewel of Kyma is its exceptional staff. From the moment you step foot onto the property, the team is genuinely warm, helpful, and attentive. Whether you need local recommendations, transfers, or an extra towel by the pool, their hospitality sets a high bar and makes you feel instantly looked after. The overall vibe of the hotel is relaxed luxury, making it an ideal base if you want proximity to the main town’s vibrant nightlife while retaining a tranquil sanctuary to retreat to during the day.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind To keep things completely candid for fellow travellers, there were a couple of drawbacks during the stay:
Inconsistent Wi-Fi Connection: If you need to check emails, upload stories, or get any remote work done, be prepared for frustration. The Wi-Fi signal was spotty and unstable throughout much of the complex, dropping out frequently around both the rooms and pool areas.
Reciprocal Amenities Discrepancy: The hotel website leaves the strong impression that guests enjoy complimentary access to facilities across the sister properties within the Myconian Collection. We booked hoping to pool-hop around the island to catch different vantage points, but using pools and sun loungers at the other group hotels comes with extra fees. Clarify access policies with guest services directly if you plan to explore sister properties.
The Breakfast Spread: Breakfast at Kyma is undeniably solid, featuring fresh local ingredients, pastries, and solid coffee. However, having stayed at the Myconian Villas last year, the spread didn't quite match that exceptional standard. It is still a pleasant morning experience, just slightly simpler in scope and presentation by comparison.
The walk into town, although only 10 minutes, is precarious to say the least! You have to walk along a very busy road where buses, taxis, and cars race past you with only inches to spare.
As we are on the island of winds, it is also worth noting that if you need shade by the pool on a windy day, they do not allow you to put up the umbrellas, which makes sitting by the pool slightly unbearable.
Final Verdict Despite a few details needing fine-tuning, Myconian Kyma delivers a memorable Cycladic stay. If you prioritize stellar service, central location, and striking design over seamless Wi-Fi and the use of other amenities in their sister hotels, it remains a fantastic luxury pick in Mykonos.
5 stars is not enough!!! This place is incredible. Never have I ever had such amazing care and service on holiday before. All of the staff are so kind and friendly - special mention to George, who was so good with my daughter and to Panagotis for being so helpful, both always with a smile and nothing too much trouble. The Little touches from our maid were most appreciated and the apartment was spot less. We Will be back for sure! Keep up the great work!
