Hotel Utopia Blu is located in the area of Tigaki, one of the most popular resorts of the island. The hotel is only 1 km from one of the most beautiful and famous sandy beaches of Kos, 10 km from Kos Town and 15 km from "Hippokrates" International Airport. It is only a few minutes walking from shops, bars and restaurants in Tigaki. The hotel's facilities and services include 24h reception with safe services in the rooms, free Wi-Fi, 3 restaurants and 5 bars. Outdoors, in the beautiful gardens you can find an amphitheatre, swimming pool, children's pool with small slides surrounded by sunbeds and umbrellas, snack bar and tennis- as well as paddel court. The hotel is located on the main road of Tigaki where just across you can find the biggest supermarket in the area, carrying lots of souvenirs, clothing and everything you need for your holidays. The hotel offers all inclusive and is suitable for all ages. The hotel has been rebuilt in 2021.
Booked with high expectations after reading reviews and seeing videos online, yet Utopia managed to exceed them. It was fantastic from start to finish. Food was excellent, lots of variety at the main buffet for breakfast and dinner. Everything is fresh, lots of choice day to day. It doesn’t feel repetitive in the slightest, feels luxurious for an all inclusive buffet style restaurant. Greek night in particular was a real highlight. Both the a la carte restaurants were great, delicious food and nice vibe in the restaurants. Lunch at the meraki bar was great too, lots of variety again and fresh food. The change in venue is a nice switch up for the meal times. A slight negative was the drink service at lunch, often we would finish our meal before receiving our drink (we would order this before getting our food), however, this appeared to be isolated to a couple of servers in particular. Evening entertainment at the Meraki bar was great, Jery and the team were fantastic and produced one of the best Michael Jackson tribute nights. This is a must if you visit (we hope Jery is back when we return next year!!!). Service for evening drinks in the Meraki bar was good majority of the time. One particular employee went above and beyond for us, he had our drinks order ready before we even sat down! He was fantastic, and really made our nights memorable (so sorry we unfortunately never got a name, he had brown curly hair, brown beard, didn’t seem to work Sunday and Monday Evening). We booked a swim up room in the adults only area, and this is a definite must. It was beautiful, super relaxing and very quiet. The sunbeds are very comfy too. We didn’t venture out to the main pool, yet I believe the day entertainment was fantastic too. The room and the pool area was exceptionally clean at all times. Drinks at the pool bar were good, bar staff were friendly. Good options for cocktails included in the all inclusive. The grounds are stunning. Well maintained and picturesque. Kos town in a taxi was 20 minutes away. We’d recommend Yorgo & Barbouni for a seafood dinner by the harbour! We will be returning next year. Thankyou for a gorgeous holiday.
Just got home after spending 12 lovely days at this hotel.
Pros: Amazing grounds, well maintained, looks beautiful in every photo Complex never seems over crowded due to it being so large Kids entertainment staff and Crepe station/pool bar staff are super friendly (kids entertainment staff genuinely enjoy their jobs) I've seen negative reviews on the food but we have no complaints, always fresh and plenty to choose from (wish they had more kids options though)
Cons: Pools don't open until 10am and then close at 6pm, I find this so bizarre as most kids were so eager to get in before 10am but weren't allowed Be careful of all the wasps around the kids pool in the high heat, they caused no issue but you need to be careful where you and your child stand Only 2 drinks per customer and the cup size are tiny!! We are a family of 5 and my husband couldn't order 5 drinks for us I noticed our bedsheets hadn't been changed the whole 12 days in staying there, why? Don't spend a lot of money on your or your children's swimming costumes as they will turn green from being in the pool, even the bottom of one of my daughters hair was green by the end of the day, unfortunately I cannot get it out of their costumes (thankfully I have her hair) Never had this in any other hotel before.....
Overall we had a fantastic holiday but there's some elements that the hotel could do to make it better. I'd recommend it anyone 🇬🇷
This was our second time here and it felt like coming home. The dining experience has stepped up its game, we were welcomed with rose petals in our room and all the other facilities and experiences were still as good as we remembered them. So far, no other hotel with a similar set-up has beaten this stay for us. Would a 10/10 recommend this to anyone wanting a peaceful and relaxing holiday.
This was my wife and I’s fourth time staying at Utopia Blu, and we were very pleasantly surprised at how consistently great this resort is. We had another fabulous time, and would like to say a huge “Thank You!” to everyone for making our fortnight a memorable and enjoyable holiday.
We want to make a special mention to Manos, for kindly making arrangements for us to stay in our preferred block, as well as for making restaurant reservations. I finally got to put a face to a name, and finally speak with Manos in person.
What makes this resort special is that they manage to maintain their highly experienced team, and we were very warmly welcomed, and looked after by some of the best staff in the business. A big shout out to Esmerelda and Mile each evening, Andreas in Meraki at lunch (“I’ll have another beer and a Hugo please” at our usual lunchtime table), and Thomai and her wonderful colleague (really sorry, I can’t remember your name) who looked after us at breakfast and kept us supplied with coffee and tea, sitting under the olive tree. It was also great to see Giovani in the lobby again, and really enjoyed our chats in the evening.
We enjoyed an incredibly relaxing holiday in the adult only area, where the pools are always crystal clear, and grateful for the morning visit from the parasol guy who always said “Kali mera”.
The one area that we did notice a slight drop in usual standards was the night time lobby bar drink service, which started off terribly slow and unreliable. After sharing feedback with the Guest Relations team during the first week, I was pleased to see a significant improvement over the next couple of days. The table service for evening drinks after this went straight back to our usually high standard, and we both really appreciate how our feedback was positively responded to. Couldn’t ask for a better service.
The only real constructive feedback that we can offer is that during our stay, we were asked several times by new arrivals where they could find a specific restaurant, and where to exchange their pool cards for complimentary pool towels. We were always more than happy to help share our experience, however I do think that more information could be provided on check-in, including a map of the resort. There is only one resort map that we could find, and that was badly faded and not at all easy to understand. There was also some confusion in week one about our water bottles being replaced in the room. Reception sorted this for us, however a clear explanation that plastic water bottles are not typically replaced, and should be refilled should also be better explained, before throwing our empty bottles away.
Overall, this hotel is maintained to an exceptionally high standard, and offered us a perfect fortnight of sunshine, relaxation, and plenty of Greek salads and rose wine. All of the staff’s hard work pays off and we would rate Utopia Blu 10 out of 10! We have already booked to return again in 2027, and can’t wait to see all of the familiar faces who help to make our holiday so special. Thank you Utopia Blu and see you next year!
