The hotel is only 1 km from one of the most beautiful and famous sandy beaches of Kos, 10 km from Kos Town and 15 km from "Hippokrates" International Airport. It is only a few minutes walking from shops, bars and restaurants in Tigaki. The hotel's facilities and services include 24h reception with safe services in the rooms, free Wi-Fi, 3 restaurants and 5 bars. Outdoors, in the beautiful gardens you can find an amphitheatre, swimming pool, children's pool with small slides surrounded by sunbeds and umbrellas, snack bar and tennis- as well as paddel court. The hotel is located on the main road of Tigaki where just across you can find the biggest supermarket in the area, carrying lots of souvenirs, clothing and everything you need for your holidays. The hotel offers all inclusive and is suitable for all ages. The hotel has been rebuilt in 2021.
Myself & my partner stayed at Utopia Blu end of June, beginning of July 2026.
Overall we had a wonderful time, the area was great, lots of local amenities, a supermarket across the road, bus stop to Kos Town, bars, shops, and a lovely beach (Tigaki) at the end of the road, which is only a short walk away.
The drinks were good and the staff at the bars and restaurants were very friendly and accommodating. Food was overall good. Buffet had a great variety of options and changed every evening, despite us staying for 10 nights. We did also visit some of the local restaurants for a change - Plori & Vasilis were particularly good. If we’re being honest, we were very disappointed with the two A La Carté restaurants, both were quite poor quality, but staff and service was not to fault at all.
Plenty of pools, with lots of sunbeds, we had no issues getting a sunbed no matter what time we arrived at the pool. There were some rude guests who we noticed saving sunbeds around us all day and never using them, which was disappointing.
Rooms were very clean. Staff cleaned the room everyday and seemed to change the bedding and towels daily, despite it saying bedding would only be changed 3 times a week. Cleaning staff were also very friendly.
Entertainment was good, changed most nights and was enjoyable for all ages. Good atmosphere, and a nice split between the adults only area and the general area.
The most disappointing aspect, which unfortunately we found really disappointing and frustrating was the reception staff, who were extremely rude and unhelpful. We arrived at 8:30pm after a long day travelling, were greeted by immediately being asked for the hotel tax money. The lady we spoke to, did not even look at my partner as he was speaking to her. Then we were told our room number, with no information on where the room was, and that we had 1hr left to get our bags put away and make it to the buffet before it closes, without a map, or any information on where the restaurant was. Once the porter had showed us to our room I went back and asked for a map/where the restaurant was, which left us with only 30mins to get food. They reluctantly gave me a map.
No information on how to book the A La Carte restaurants were given, the gym, the tennis courts, where to get the pool towels, the bus to Kos Town, anything at all that would be helpful to know. Fortunately, I’d read plenty of reviews and information on Kos and Tigaki and joined a Facebook Group prior to arriving so was aware of many of these topics, but when I did go to reception to ask for information on things, they were dismissive. When we came to leave, we weren’t due to fly until 8pm so asked about late checkout, we were eventually told this wouldn’t be possible, but were unable to book a shower room, as reception staff incorrectly told us we had to wait until 7pm the day prior to book this, but when we visited reception to do this, there was no availability left.
Please train the reception staff on communication, customer service skills, and ensure all guests receive the same information.
We are recurrent visitors to Kos Island & every time it gets better and better. This year staying at Utopia Blue was the best time we’ve had. Food was amazing, especially the à la carte restaurants & the saxophone evening! The staff were just as lovely and very helpful. We stayed in room 5502 & it was absolutely perfect, adults only, quiet, pool bar nearby, very comfy sun loungers, lovely views of the sunset and the mountains in Zia. We are looking to return already! :)
We stayed from 1st July to 8th July 2026. We are a young couple.
Overall the visit was great and we had a lovely time.
We stayed in a swim-up room with the pool at our lodge door. This was amazing and I would definitely recommend. However one issue we had was although paying for 7 days, we were kicked out of our room at 11am on the final day and while we waited for our transfer (which was later on in the night) we were unable to use the private pool. Something to bear in mind when spending a lot more on the upgraded room. We had the option to keep it on, for an additional charge of €100+.
However, the room was lovely and cleaned daily by staff members. Fresh towels and cleaned floor every day was lovely. We were told that the sheets would be changed three times a week, however this was definitely not the case in our room. I don’t believe it was changed once.
There was entertainment most nights, a lot quite relevant to young children. Live music was great. One downside which was heavily advertised was the outdoor cinema. This has the potential to be amazing, however we were very disappointed. There was no specific movie advertised so we had no idea what movie we were watching until we got there. The movie was a dubbed foreign action movie and was almost impossible to watch. There was no cushions / blankets out so we were sitting on concrete stairs. No food or drinks available. Would not recommend the cinema.
Lots of drinks to choose from and numerous bars around the venue so not far to walk. Bar staff friendly throughout.
Food was by far the best food I have eaten in an all inclusive. Restaurants were amazing alongside all other meals. So much to choose from and in my opinion, good quality fresh food! Staff come to your table and take drinks orders, nice touch!
The hidden costs:
Spa: I had a nice back, neck and shoulder massage. This was great. I planned to spend a few hours in the spa after with my partner, however was told it would be €20.00 for her to enter as she did not have a treatment. Spa not included and again, an additional charge so we didn’t bother.
Gym: Good quality equipment, x2 treadmills and lots of weights. Nice outdoor area to train. However downsides are no AC!! Boiling past 10am! And the app to book the gym is not enforced therefore becomes quite busy in the mornings.
Activities: Lots to do, table tennis, tennis etc. free of charge. Courts are good size and modern too!
Last thing: We couldn’t seem to locate a map anywhere. Not on the app, at the desk or on any walls. There was one large board however impossible to read as the sun has stained it. Therefore a bit hard to navigate to the restaurants / activities etc.
Overall this is a lovely facility. Staff mostly helpful and polite. Beautiful, clean and modern facilities. However several hidden costs which was not advertised prior to arrival.
We did the aroma therapy and it was amazing! The stade was very sweet and caring. We enjoyed ourselves a lot!
We recently went on a family vacation to this hotel! We were amazed by the cleanliness of the rooms and all the areas, as well as the courtesy of the staff.... Everything seemed to work effortlessly, as if by magic, making our vacation truly unforgettable! Congratulations on the buffet and its wonderful flavors.
