- Tigakis Star

The hotel is situated 850 m from Tigaki beach – a famous summer resort of Kos Island, with a beautiful sandy beach and near a beautiful natural habitat with amazing flora and fauna. This is a comfortable family hotel offering 73 rooms. In the main building there is a living-room area, where guests can access the Internet. The residence offers a playground where the youngest visitors are welcome. A car park is available for guests arriving by car. The hotel offers simple and comfortable rooms, equipped with all the necessary commodities. All rooms have a view either of the sea, the salt lake, the mountain or the hotel's outdoor swimming pool. In the pool bar, which is also a small tavern, guests can taste delicious Greek dishes, sip a cocktail and have the opportunity to watch sports or news on the satellite TV.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Ideal for a couple or a group of friends or even families ✅
We stayed at Tigaki's Star hotel for 10 days and would happily return. Hotel staff were so hard working and friendly, particularly the girls who work at breakfast service and in the bar.
Food at the pool bar was very good and decent prices. Pool bar didn't have a great range of drinks which I'd say was the only negative about the hotel.
Hotel grounds were lovely, spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Our room, superior ground floor, was cleaned every day, clean towels provided any time you needed them, bedding changed couple of times a week too. Room wasn't huge but was fine for sleeping and getting quick change before heading out.
Plenty of sunbeds around the pool. Pool was a decent size and is pretty deep but there was also a baby pool.
Hotel is a couple of minutes walk to main strip where there are lots of lovely restaurants and a few bars.
We really enjoyed our time at Tigaki's Star and would happily return to the same hotel (something we usually don't do).
We decided on this hotel after visiting Tigaki last year an walking through the grounds. We booked a superior room as we wanted a decent bathroom with a proper shower cubicle. That’s what we got. Room clean, comfy and great for us. The room as a small fridge, kettle and mugs. You need to bring your pool/ beach towel.
Breakfast if a Greek feast. BUT the smoking during breakfast is awful. People with no respect for others. Hotel needs to look at this.
Pool is great. Nice and quiet. Comfy sun-beds with mattresses.
Pool bar is lovely at sunset. Definitely worth a drink before venturing out.
Easy walk to beach and bars and restaurants.
Was greeted by a miserable middle aged women (thankfully this was the only miserable greek we came across on our holiday). Hotel is very dates, left in the 80s but is clean. Room was awful, nothing like photos, booked a garden view but given a room overlooking a staff car park with an awful smell of manure from cows in a field nearby. Hotel us overrun by chain smoking Germans, breakfast choices are poor, not even a toaster to make toast in the morning. Ended up eating out after day 2. Cleaners were very noisy, woke us up early every day shouting in corridors and sounding like theyre using lump hammers to clean. No respect for guests. An item of clothing wrnt missing from the room and was never found. Would never return to thos Hotel but loved Tigaki.
Tigaki is wonderful, lots of lovely restaurants, shops and bars. Beautiful beach and close to Kos town. Worth paying extra for a decent hotel you can relax in. Zia is definitely recommend plus the 3 island boat trip.
This was our 2nd visit to Tigaki and our first to the Tigakis star hotel. Previously we had stayed in the Sunshine Hotel with a swim up pool (which cost more than double what we paid for this) and we enjoyed it equally as much. The rooms are your typical 3* Greek family run hotel type of rooms. Could they be more modern, yes. However they are perfectly functional and spotlessly clean. our beds were made up and towels changed every day.
What makes this hotel so special is the grounds. They are spectacular. Like being in a botanical garden. The setting of the hotel is just beautiful. Everytime we walked around the gardener was hard at work, wether it was mowing the grass or trimming the hedges or tending to the beautiful selection of flowering bushes they have dotted around the grounds. The pool area is huge including the massive pool. Never a rush for sunbeds. The view of the mountains from the pool area never gets tiring.
There are a number of feline residents aswell as the lovely hotel dog Aris. We even had a visit from a chicken one morning! We had a bungalow room overlooking the salt lake and occasionally had the odd cow walk past and give a moo or two over the wall but all the wildlife just added to the charm of the hotel and reinforced the authentic Greek feel of the place.
I've stayed in 5* hotels in the past and they have just felt so gentrified and soulless which is something I never felt once at this hotel.
Breakfast is pretty basic continental with the addition of cooked bacon, eggs and occasionally omelette. We ate out for breakfast on a few occasions as having this 7 days in a row was too much for us but did not dampen our opinion of the hotel .
All in all I would say I'm a self professed snob when it comes to going away. I'm hard to please and easy to annoy. I know personally we can afford to stay in more 'luxurious' accommodation in the future but regardless of this we would 100% choose to come back here instead as it was such an enjoyable stay.
