- Tigaki Beach

Tigaki lies just a short 15-minute drive from the town centre of Kos in the northern part of the island, right by the 10-km-long stretch of white sandy beach. The shallow waters of the area make this hotel ideal for kids and an easy place where they can learn to swim and have fun in the waves. Build in the middle of a beautiful and well-tended garden it is a true sanctuary for a relaxed and tranquil family vacation. After spending the warm summer days at the beach or around the onsite swimming pool, guests can enjoy a delicious meal at the onsite restaurant or head to the beach tavern for some evening entertainment. The little guests can play in the special playground or enjoy the water at the separate children's pool.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Staff friendly enough, the walls are stupidly thin, so you can’t sleep much because of toddlers screaming and constant stomping. Limited options in general for food, so we ate out every day. We attempted to make a complaint about noise as it was 4am and we couldn’t sleep due to people screaming, we were then passed onto 6 members of staff that couldn’t understand us in the slightest, so nothing was done about it. It never declared while booking that the all inclusive for alcoholic drinks are only from 6pm-11pm!? When we complained they had no idea what we were saying and were visibly annoyed. The only drink options were wine and beer, in which both were disgusting and watered down. When the other drinks are available from 6pm they were vile. I am being generous with this 2 star review
2 star at best ! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. Take notice of all the poor reviews of this hotel and dont think oh they are just moaning about every little thing, I did exactly that and regret it. Everything that was noted as poor in the reviews was absolutely spot on. Everything about the hotel was aimed at German guests, who may I say are the rudest most arrogant people I have ever come across. So back to my own experience. Arrived at 1am greeted by a lovely gent who pointed us straight to the bar where they got us a drink and had a small plate prepared for us (German inspired obviously) which was great. Got to the room no air-conditioning the room was 32 degrees we were offered a fan ! Let's say we didn't sleep much that night. The following morning they sent an engineer to the room who proceeded to tell me it was working when it wasn't. Fortunately for us he stuck his fingers into the unit and exploded the fan housing meaning they had to get us a new room. The rooms are very dated but clean. The beds are hard and the sheets are like cardboard. The bathroom had a bath with a leaky shower over it. The hotel itself is clean but very dated and if this can be sold as a 4 star hotel, then my garden shed is 3 star. The food was ok, that's it ok, lacking in choice and catering for the Germans again. All inclusive it most definately is NOT ! The "cocktails" are only available between 6pm and 11pm. Don't even bother they are very poor. The wine and beer is available from 11am but is all watered down and again poor. The staff are friendly but to be honest I dont pay for the staff I pay for a nice room and good food and drink. Got none of either. Avoid if you are expecting 4 star !!!!
I read the reviews after booking this hotel but was determined to prove the poor reviews wrong and be pleasantly surprised.. We are a smiley , chilled out family and always look on the positive side… I was really hoping to write a 5 star review and have such lovely things to say about the hotel , sadly we can’t !!! Firstly the hotel is beautiful, location great and the hospitality of staff is amazing, On check in our room was spacious and clean but once i opened the wardrobe the smell hit us , it was disgusting , there was no way we were unpacking our new holiday clothes in there ! We requested a change , but only a couple of rooms were available spaced apart which wouldn’t work with our large family, we decided to stick it out !! Day 5 the shower curtain fell onto my head , the room was Desperately in need of refurbishment !! The food was basic , ok but very repetitive so we decided to eat out every night , an added expense but worth every penny as the local restaurants are amazing, The all inclusive part is a word that shouldn’t be used , you can’t have cocktails till after 6 and they stop at 11 , and if you want certain ones you have to pay !! Also ice coffee and ice cream is only available at certain times and again very limited spirits after 6 ! The wine is awful and the beer is really weak. We loved Tigaki and would definitely come back here but this hotel is only good for a central base , not an all inclusive hotel, it shouldn’t be allowed to be called that ! We still had an amazing time but had to spend so much more money because of its rubbish all inclusive package , please avoid if you’re planning on staying in the hotel, there is no atmosphere full of miserable people that needed reminding they were on holiday ! The poor staff are amazing though and deserve praise .. I sadly wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all ..
A really quiet and enjoyable stay, all things considered.
Pros:
Exceptional Customer Service (special commendation to Joanna and Marvin being extremely helpful and accommodating of our asks!)
Breakfast (as a UK travellers, plenty of familiar options that while there’s not much variation, it does the job)
Location is tranquil with beach right on the doorstep of the hotel.
Facilities on the hotel grounds are clean and well maintained.
Cons
Lunch/Dinner can be hit and miss if you do not enjoy salads.
Rooms are old school so if that’s not aesthetically pleasing, might not be up your alley.
Times for all inclusive are stricter than others, make sure to time things right.
Not much in the way of entertainment, only the Greek night on Sundays or billiards/table tennis/tennis court but I can’t comment as I wasn’t witness to it (left Sunday).
Paying for the safe. Small fee but for 4*, should be included as standard.
Overall, I had a great time and would come back again, maybe once more. It’s understandable why other reviews were mixed and it took a bit of time to win me over but the hotel has done that.
be very mindful when booking all inclusive here, as the alcohol isn’t included until after 6pm and only up until 11pm, outside of these hours you have to pay. Which is crazy to me! Very boring hotel, 0 entertainment and not even any music by the pools. Everyone seems to be back in their rooms by 11pm. Cocktails are watered down drastically! No selection in the buffet for kids so be aware of that! Even though I paid all inclusive I ended up going to the town most nights to eat and have abit more entertainment as the hotel was by far the worst all inclusive iv stayed in. Staff are nice, but everything else 1/10.
