TripAdvisor Review
Basic all inclusive but done well

We recently stayed at the Gaia Village Hotel for a week as a family of 5 and had a great holiday. We booked a superior suite which was two bedrooms - this meant one slept on the sofabed which my youngest didn't mind but older children may find it uncomfortable. Overall we were happy with the room. It was modern, AC worked fine, the rooms also had ceiling fans. There is only one small bathroom but had a large walk in shower which was great. Small fridge and kettle so you could make a tea/coffee. We arrived after 11pm. Check-in was ok - person on reception explained how to get to our room but in the dark it was quite difficult. We walked around with our suitcases before eventually the bar staff came and helped us. As we missed the evening meal we were given a bag with baguettes, water, fruit and cake which were welcomed after a long journey. We had read up on the hotel and all the reviews so had mixed feelings of what to expect. Honestly, it beat those expectations. It is a basic all inclusive but that doesn't mean it's bad. This is not a huge hotel complex (which personally we didn't want), it's smaller and more relaxed. The food was lovely. Not a lot of choice but what we ate tasted nice. Breakfast was probably the most basic but a simple coffee and egg on toast made me happy. I would agree that the all inclusive drinks let it down the most. Very limited options but I liked the beer so was happy with that in the day. The entertainment team were fab! Again, it's basic but they were all friendly and did a great job of trying to get everyone involved. If the management read this...please invest in water polo goals, it would be so much fun! Tigaki itself it's great. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shops close by. The beach bars (Paron in particular) are lovely at sunset. The best bit is the beach is only 5 mins walk from the hotel. Although there are better beaches you can drive/travel too - Flamingo beach is close and a nice vibe. We caught the bus to Kos Town and Kardamena from right outside the hotel so it's easy to get around on local transport but it's not that frequent and taxis are like gold dust. Would we stay in Kos again 100%. Would we go back to Tigaki 100% . Would we choose Gaia Village Hotel 100%.

Absolutely fantastic

Close to the beach and located on a strip of shops and restaurants.

The atmosphere is very friendly staff and welcoming guests. The entertainment guy (photo attached) and Alexandra in particular are incredible.

Rooms are good, children’s bed was quite small but was replaced quickly which was good.

Very good value for money, good is good and will fill you for the day, maybe even 2!

Very clean, a cleaner comes round everyday at around lunchtime and makes the bed, cleans the floor, etc. very good!

Noise level is not that bad during the day, it’s a very chill environment. At night there is music but it’s a nice volume.

Amenities are clean and there are plenty of them.

The best staff there are the cats. The one in the attached photos my family have named Feta.

Gaia memories

Our stay at Gaya Village was wonderful and enjoyable. The night games, especially the karaoke and best couples games were fun. The beach is very close just we had a great moment absolutely.

TripAdvisor Review
Pleasant staff day to day, but a missing item remained unresolved at checkout

Our stay at Gaia Village had some positives. The room was clean and generally comfortable, although water regularly spilled onto the bathroom floor when using the shower. The all-inclusive food selection was fairly limited, but most of what we tried tasted good. Staff were pleasant in everyday interactions.

Unfortunately, the handling of a missing item left a very different impression.

On Tuesday, 1 September, we noticed that a silk pyjama top was missing after housekeeping and immediately reported it to reception. On previous days, the housekeeper had folded this top and placed it under the pillow. She searched the room with us and, when it could not be found, said it must have been taken to the laundry with the bed linen. We do not know exactly what happened to it.

Over the following days, the hotel never proactively contacted us with an update. We repeatedly had to visit reception ourselves. We provided the product details and proof of purchase, then were also asked for a photograph of the actual item before it went missing. Only on Friday, following our tour representative’s intervention, were we asked to show the matching pyjama bottoms to help identify it.

Despite repeated requests, we were unable to speak to the manager. On Saturday, our departure day, another receptionist knew nothing about the issue. When we again asked to speak to the manager, we were told the manager was very busy.

By the time we checked out, the top had not been returned, no reimbursement had been offered and the matter remained unresolved.

An accidental housekeeping mistake can happen. What disappointed us most was the lack of follow-up, continuity between reception shifts and a clear decision over several days. Everyday friendliness matters, but so does how a hotel responds when a guest needs a problem resolved.
