Platanista Hotel

this hotel has the best atmosphere, specifically the activity members joy, curtis and especially fredo who made the experience memorable. food is very good and close enough to town to walk or hire bikes or cars. the housekeeping is exceptional and our room was very clean and good air conditioning. the pools were unreal aswell as all facilities. overall i would definitely come back and plan on doing so in the future. the staff are all amazing and make sure that you are satisfied at all times. huge thank you to them all!!!

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Platanista Hotel in Psalidi, Kos, and cannot recommend it highly enough.

We stayed in rooms 490 and 559, both of which were wonderfully quiet, making it easy to relax and enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep. The housekeeping team were exceptional throughout our stay. Our rooms were spotless every single day, and the cleaners worked incredibly hard with such attention to detail.

A special mention has to go to the entertainment team. They truly are the heart of the hotel. Freddo leads the team brilliantly, and together with Joy and Curtis, they create such a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. You can see just how many hours they put in each day, yet they always have endless enthusiasm, encouraging guests of all ages to join in while never making anyone feel pressured. They genuinely make the holiday memorable and bring so much fun and laughter to everyone around them.

The food was another highlight. There was an excellent variety at every meal, with fresh, high-quality options to suit every taste. The restaurant and waiting staff worked tirelessly to keep everything running smoothly, and their hard work certainly didn’t go unnoticed.

The hotel’s location is perfect. It’s far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Kos Town to feel peaceful and relaxing, yet only a short journey away whenever you want to explore the shops, harbour and nightlife. It really offers the best of both worlds.

From the beautiful grounds and welcoming staff to the fantastic facilities and atmosphere, this has been one of our favourite holidays. Thank you to everyone at the Platanista Hotel for making our stay so special. We will leave with wonderful memories and would happily return in the future.

Where do I begin… This is our second trip to the Platanista Hotel. We went in July 2023 and again in June 2026. Both experiences were phenomenal, and we wish to continue visiting. We fell in love with Kos in 2023 and have been patiently waiting to return - specifically to the Platanista. This hotel is simply incredible. The rooms are spotlessly clean, reception is absolutely beautiful, the facilities are outstanding. This visit we stayed for 2 weeks, and we cannot wait to return. The staff are so kind and friendly. A special mention to Anna Maria, Laura and Andreani - they were so kind, professional and just lovely people. We didn’t get all the staff’s names, but every single one was simply the best! What I really like about the staff is that even though they are professional, they also seem relaxed, they have a laugh with each other and customers. I like this because if staff are too tense, I feel tense too. They were just such a joy and really added to the experience and service.

The pools are perfection - you never have to fight for a sun bed. The snack bar is gorgeous, and honestly the entire hotel is so well kept and the flowers and trees are so beautiful, I stared at them all day.

The food - this is where the Platanista really shines. Breakfast has fried eggs, omelettes (type changes often), sausages, mushrooms, beans, and a cold section which has small changes each day. This is not an exhaustive list, but you will not go hungry here. Dinner is always exceptional - sometimes there are things on the menu which may not be my taste (maybe more for German tastes), but after trying it, it’s always cooked perfectly. Basically you will not go hungry here - I cannot stress enough how incredible the food is and the vast things they have on offer. They have Greek nights, Italian, Asian, French, literally so much choice and so many kinds of foods. The desserts? I wish I could have eaten all of them. They actually taste like real desserts and not the usual slop you find in some other hotels (where the desserts all taste the same). We ate very well at the Platanista.

The entertainment - wow what an incredible improvement! In 2023, we watched the entertainment a couple times but it wasn’t the best (but we didn’t mind as we aren’t the types to watch entertainment, we usually went into Kos Town). This time (2026) we couldn’t wait to watch the entertainment! The team is amazing, and the special acts the hotel had were nothing I’ve ever seen before. The Famous 2 (South African singers) and the Kenyan Acrobatics were just unbelievable - I couldn’t believe the quality of the entertainment. Of course the Greek dancing was superb, and there was also a traditional Bouzouki player which was so beautiful. The entertainment has vastly improved.

The hotel is in Psalidi - if you want to walk to Kos town it took us 30/35 minutes, but if you are unable to walk far, I would suggest getting a transfer service or a taxi. The buses aren’t very reliable but that does not bother us at all, it is what it is. There are tavernas and bars near the hotel if you want to take a break - we went to them often. The hotel itself is quiet, relaxed, and not a party hotel - this is what we prefer. It’s just the best place to relax.

We stayed for 2 weeks and we cannot wait to come back. A room for improvement for me would be if guests arrive from a late flight, it may be good to leave a bottle of cold water in the room (we would be happy to pay for this). I emailed the Platanista in advance to ask them kindly if they could give us a bottle of water on arrival as our flight arrived very late, and also because I saw on other reviews that some other guests said the hotel did this for them. We did recieve our water, but we did have to ring reception to ask for it - after a long flight it may be easier just to leave it in the room, but that’s my opinion. Some other guests got a plate of food when they arrived, but I think it’s because they arrived a bit earlier than us (we got to the hotel around 1am, we couldn’t get an earlier flight), I think this is a nice touch. A huge thankyou to everyone at the Platanista, we cannot wait to come back to our favourite place!
