Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Not long got back from 10 days at Mitis Ramira and overall the experience was a good one.
Like other reviewers, we agree it’s not 5 star but that said we had a good time and found it a good experience.
The staff are the hotels best assets, nearly all were friendly with just a few exceptions in the restaurant area.
Got to say a special mention to Maltiadis, who was extremely hardworking and kept us amused with his humour and looked after us for the whole of our stay. He made the pool experience so much better with a constant flow of drinks! Thank you!!
The buffet is manageable if you get to sit in the main restaurant or on the left hand side room, the little outside (ish) annex on the right was our worst experience as the waitresses were miserable and constantly shouted to one another.
Overall the food was good quality, just not so much choice as other hotels we have stopped in.
The a la carte restaurants were just an extension of the man buffet area so it didn’t feel as special as they should have been, that said, the food was lovely and a thank you goes out to Kim, Nina and Rovena in the meat restaurant as we felt the service was very good and enhanced the experience.
Like other reviews, if you want a sun-bed by the pool then get in early, but use them! Don’t reserve and then go off for hours. Yes for once a hotel that does as they say, and removes towels & personal items from the beds if you reserve and then don’t rock up for hours. Fair play to them for that. Pool didn’t seem to be heated so was a little chilly at times but this was maybe down to the strong wind we experienced.
The beach was disappointing for us, pebbly which we knew before we went but it was pebbles for all of it, not just a small section as you entered the sea, there is no sand at all. The sea was also very choppy as it was windy when we were there so not easy for some of our party to get in and out. It gets deep quickly also, great for swimming but that’s about it. The sunbeds on the beach were comfy though.
The beach bar was good and efficient, food a little rough and ready but ok for a lunchtime snack.
The creperie and waffle bar was great, lovely food and ice cream with friendly hardworking staff.
The lounge bar was nice, good service in fact the best bar service we have had in any holiday hotel we have stopped in to be honest.
House keeping was a bit hit and miss, not the best and certainly not 5 star but adequate. Like another reviewer, the ’do not disturb’ sign goes unnoticed with the mini bar attendant just coming on in anyway which isn’t right.
Evening entertainment was also a disappointment, no big shows, just music acts on a small stage by the pool bar. The amphitheatre wasn’t used at all. There is a general lack of activities going on, nothing around the main pool at all. There seemed to be just one entertainment girl who did all the activities.
Yes, we had a good holiday, the staff are the hotels biggest asset, other areas let it down.
Returned yesterday after 6 days. Had a great time, we were upgraded to a room with a private pool which was fabulous. Beds very comfortable, even the singles for the teens. Pools lovely especially the one with the slides. Beach met expectations and we took advice and wore beach shoes. Sunbeds very comfy at the beach, not so much at the pools. We found beds every day at the pools and the beach although it was quite full. The negatives were the food and drinks quality which were in our opinion extremely poor. It was budget meats, chewy beef in casseroles, chicken drumsticks on many occasions along with chicken wings. They did have spaghetti and prawns on the day we went to Meat a restaurant but that was the only time and quantities were sparse. In a 5 star hotel I expected much better quality. There were no steaks on offer even at the Meat restaurant. Drinks did not taste premium quality. Service in the restaurants was very hit and miss. Teas and coffee service poor. Water not hot enough for tea. Given the poor food, drinks and service we would not return.
We had a lovely stay with my wife and 2 sons. We stayed 7 nights at the beautiful Mitsis Ramira and everyone was so polite and gyros at the beach bar was amazing! You should try the freshly made crepes which were absolutely delicious! The staff were very friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. They made our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely come back!
Miltiadis the pool waiter was the star of the show - amazing guy
Amazing friendly hotel with everything you could possibly want or need. The hotel ground are wonderful and look very pretty. Slightly outside of Kos town but near enough if you want to go into explore. The beach is clean but the sea can be very rough and with it being pebbles can be difficult to get in and out. Around the pool you will be looked after by the wonderful Miltiadis with a lovely smile on his face and nothing is too much trouble for him a credit to the hotel for sure. We did have an issue with our room but it was sorted as soon as it was reported.
