Smy Kos Beach and Splash

The hotel is around 15 minutes from airport. It is located on the beach, which is lovely - due to its location the sea is great for wind water sports so if you’ve small children looking for a calm sea I’d probably go elsewhere. There is no lively nightlife and it is very family oriented, again perfect if you’re looking to have a quiet relaxed holiday. It is a family resort so expect lots of children. I went with older teens and we had a great time. The hotel is clean, there are two pools, one shallow one near to the beach and a larger one near the main part of the hotel. Both have lifeguards who actually do their job and keep an eye on what is going on. There is food at the infinity pool from 12pm until 5pm consisting of salad, sometimes burgers/hot dogs, chips, gyros pork or chicken (we were obsessed with this)pitta and pizza. Or you could go for lunch in the main restaurant which has a larger selection of food and desserts. I loved the food here, well cooked and lots of choice. They say that men need to wear long trousers for dinner but they don’t. Everybody did make an effort and had smart shorts/shirt or t.shirts on though. At lunch you need to cover up in the main restaurant however down at the infinity pool you can sit in your swimwear and eat. The staff were very friendly and helpful if you needed anything. The animation team are fabulous, we did the aqua exercise most mornings in the pool which was good fun. The evening entertainment is great, the animation are very talented dancers and the young lady who sings was wonderful. We took the local bus to Kos town which cost €4 each way - great to have a little wander around there and we also went to Lido water park, the tickets are €22 per adult - if you take a taxi there this will cost around €15 one way if you book it through the hotel. We walked back and it took us around 20 minutes - it’s not far at all. I would definitely recommend this hotel, we had a wonderful 9 nights and they even had a little snack pack on arrival as we had missed dinner. If you’re off out for the day you can request a packed lunch from Reception and they will arrange that for you. Towels are €5 refundable deposit each and can be changed on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. There is also a €10/day Greek room tax payable on arrival so remember to budget this in. We were able to get a late checkout at €10/hour from 12pm so always worth asking if you’re on a late return flight. There are showers and a separate changing area though along with a dedicated luggage storage space. I would give the whole experience a 10/10 and would definitely visit again.

This vacation was perfect. In the domino room, the staff were Very nice and šlofík, especially Mrs. Zografina, who was Very pleasant and always happy to help us.
