EUROVILLAGE ACHILLEAS Hotel is situated in the area of Mastichari, on the Northwest side of the island of Kos.
Built upon a wonderful stretch of beach, it's a modern hotel complex with all its rooms scattered around the green gardens. The airport and the village of Antimachia are about 6km away and Kos Town is about 22km. (hotel shuttle bus to Kos town is available several times per week). Mastichari itself is a beachside village with about 700 inhabitants. It can be visited from our hotel just by taking a short stroll along the beachfront.
Your stay in one of our fully equipped hotel rooms (with Sat TV, fridge, telephone, hair dryer, safety box, A/C, will be utterly enjoyable while you will have the opportunity and the pleasure of looking at the sea, the marvelous sunset and the island of Kalymnos with its rich folklore history.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We travelled as a family of 5 and on the whole we had a lovely holiday there were just a few issues that let it down Firstly it’s classed as a 4 star hotel but I’ve never stayed in a 4 star hotel that didn’t do daily cleaning of rooms especially emptying of bathroom bin which I feel as you can’t flush toilet paper and have to use the bin it should be emptied daily ( ours was emptied twice during a week stay despite saying to reception that it had been missed off the cleaning) Secondly nowhere can you fill your water bottles or buy water bottles from bars only place is the little shop just outside the hotel Then comes the sun beds! Having to get up early to get a sun-bed is not ideal even ones on the beach - needs more sun beds! The restaurant buffet was ok but needs bit more variety and it didn’t help that after a time they shut half the food side down even when it was still busy!! Most of the staff were friendly but there were some not so As I said we had a lovely holiday but would I stay here again probably not
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. In fact are still here (leaving this evening). Our flight was delayed so we arrived around midnight to a warm welcome and an upgraded room. The room was spotless and very comfortable with 2 beds. There is space for a comfortable chair or even a sofa bed but you dont spend much time in your room anyway. Bathroom was good, TV, fridge and small kettle and essentially air conditioning.
The area is also spotless with lots of activity going on to keep it clean.
I read reviews before we came and was pleasantly surprised by our stay so here is our honest assessment.
Reception staff are friendly and helpful, so if you have any concerns or questions just ask. Entertainment (Animation) team are enthusiastic and encouraging but do not force guests to participate. The daily activities and evening entertainment are dispayed in reception area. Aqua aerobics is very popular. There is also mini golf, tennis, volleyball on site with an indoor games room too. The main pool is massive and well maintained. There is a childrens pool too. Yes there is no lifeguard but that was not an issue for us.
We mainly spent time at the main pool and the beach which is near the hotel. There are other beaches with sunbeds as you walk to Mastichari. There is not, as some reviewers have said, a lack of sunbeds; the issue is that people reserve sunbeds then do not use them until hours later. The Hotel has signs asking people not to reserve beds but this policy is hard for them to enforce and is really down to the inconsideration of guests who do this. That being said, we always got a bed so again not an issue for us. Pool towels were provided and you can change every 2 days.
The town Mastichari is a 15-20 min walk via the beach path. Lots of small shops and restaurants and plenty of sunbeds for a small charge.
We were all inclusive and all food and drink was excellent and plentiful. I appreciate not everyone from previous reviews enjoyed the food but we did. There was plenty of choice for all meals. The Italian restaurant is worth a visit, you simply book the day before.
Now, the main pool bars were fantastic. You have the comfortable lounge and terrace and then the smaller kiosk. There is also a small bar near the beach.
There are some variances but generally Snacks are served and details displayed at the specific bar. You can self serve some hot drinks and soft drinks or served others. You can fill your water bottle at the kiosk bar at the main pool. All staff are friendly and get to know your drink order!
There is lots to do around about with a walk to the nearby town or a trip to Kos town and the reception can orgsnise trips etc Theres a bus to kos town, book before 6pm on the day before you want to go. There is a small, but well stocked shop nearby.
The weather was glorious, and we have had a relaxed holiday.
This was our first visit to Kos and definitely plan to return.
I stayed here 26th of September for one week. Hotel is pretty basic but food was good as were waiting staff in restaurant. In particular Mukhlis who was incredible, hardworking and friendly. An asset to the hotel.
I loved that it was a cat friendly hotel too. They were all neutered and in good condition.
I must add that on arrival we were “greeted’ by the world’s rudest receptionist. I believe he was called Tasos. He should not be front of house!!
Stayed here for a week in September from checking in the staff have been amazing so friendly and helpful especially two young ladies on reception one called KC to sure of the other ladies name very helpful and cheerful Our cleaner (room 4) was lovely nothing was too much for her so happy and friendly Food very nice always found something and the room had everything we needed Can’t fault the hotel at all Thankyou
Kos is an absolutely beautiful island! Gorgeous white sandy beaches & sunsets. We had a lovely family holiday here at EuroVillage. The rooms were spacious with air conditioning. Check in was straightforward & our suitcases were carried via golf buggy to our apartment. Reception staff lovely & very helpful. Good choice of food & drinks. We loved the water aerobics class & the DJ night was a lot of fun! We hired a car to see the south of Kos which has more picturesque beaches that are good for snorkelling. We would love to come back to Kos and this hotel.
