Blue Lagoon Resort is a hotel complex with 662 guestrooms. This all inclusive hotel is situated in Lambi, only 75m from the sandy/shingle beach, 2 km from the centre of Kos town, 1.5 km away from the nearest shopping area and 22 km from the airport. This beautiful hotel has got a 1-storey main building, six 2-storey accommodation buildings at the main complex and 3 satellite buildings.
The facilities at the Blue Lagoon Resort include the Nisos buffet restaurant, the Mythos Greek buffet restaurant, the Mesogios restaurant, the Athina Pool restaurant, the Chinese restaurant as well as the Italian a' la carte restaurant with adults only section. Have an exotic drink at one of the numerous bars; the Pool bar, the Piano bar with live music, the Lounge and Animation bar or at any of the others waiting for you. If you long for something sweet, visit the pancake station at the main pool island or at the Waterpark.
Our guests can choose between five pools; the 4000 sq meters main swimming pool and a smaller of 200 sq meters for children at the main complex as well as two swimming pools for adults and one children's pool at the satellite buildings. The hotel includes also a water park about 500 m from the main complex with a Lazy River, Aqua land as well as slides for adults and bigger children. Activities like mini soccer, tennis, mini-golf and beach volley will help you keep fit during your holidays, while the Votsalo Spa is the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate your body and skin, offering a variety of beauty treatments as well as a fitness room, an indoor heated pool, sauna, steam bath and whirl pool for guests over 16 years of age.

Great experience all round
Currently at this resort, don’t read all reviews as I did, a bit dubious of the hotel at first but I can say it’s a great place for a holiday. Food is good and the service is excellent from the staff. All staff are very friendly and polite. Crepe bar at the pool is a winner for my grandson. After the excellent shows, the animation team are amazing and great singers, there are toasties available if you’re still hungry, and filled rolls in the lobby in a glass container, ham, cheese, both. Bar area good choice of drinks. Very clean rooms and surrounding areas, gardens kept very neat and pretty. Fully recommend it.

A relaxing two week break!
My boyfriend’s family come here every year, and I now understand why!
This resort is basically perfect, to start off it’s massive and there are plenty of areas to explore. They have staff driving golf carts around the resort that you can ride in to take you to different places too! The main pool is great, there are plenty of sun beds , a bar and a crepe station; it also looks really pretty too! The beach is right around the corner, and there is a shop opposite it that we bought little bits from.
For me, the thing that makes this resort so great is the staff. Everyone was so friendly, especially considering we visited right at the end of the season. We had staff in the pool restaurant remembering our drink orders, the man who worked at the pool bar would always say hello if we passed him on the resort, and the woman who worked at the crepe station was incredibly nice and always asked us how we were whenever we saw her. In the restaurant we had staff asking us if we wanted drinks, even though the drinks we always got were self serve, they would still bring them to us. The entertainment team was great too, and the performances we did see were exceptional.
The food was really good, and I didn’t find it repetitive at all. They have different options every day and it is not repeated weekly, which was really nice as I could still try new dishes during our second week. They always serve pizza and a “make your own pasta” option, which is really good for picky eaters.
We stayed in block 6000, and our room was lovely. It was very spacious as we had a corner room, and was cleaned everyday by a really sweet lady who was always asking how we were.
There are different pools and areas, and even though we just stayed at the main pool for most of our stay, we visited the aqua park once and we had so much fun! I really recommend it, and it seemed a lot quieter than the main pool.
Also if you’re visiting and love cats, there are so many around the resort! They are really friendly and love sleeping on your lap.
Avoid, Avoid, Avoid
Avoid this hotel at all costs…. I don’t normally write reviews but on this occasion I felt I needed to. For those who have given this hotel a 5* you really need to explore more , this hotel is awful and is no more than a 3*.
No need for an alarm clock as you will be greeted day and night by the chickens and Roosters calls , Block 6 will have a whole chorus of hens on your doorstep.
Once you leave your hotel room be careful where you walk as the chicken and hen fesis is all along the pathways. Very unhygienic due to the diseases this carries.
The rooms are dated , not sure the cleaners even cleaned the rooms., floors were grubby not even sure they were mopped as our feet were black walking 10 paces from the shower to the main room. Multiple days the coffee/sugar sachets were not replaced. Rusty fridges, with no water refills. The air con units are noisy.
I would suggest booking yourself into the Chinese every night as the other restaurants were awful. Lack of variety and bland. Chicken was pink/undercooked.
Around the pool, you will find broken floor tiles.. The main pool also has a jacuzzi, which hasn’t been scrubbed clean in a while as it as it had a ring of green slime around the rim. The pool/bath towels were awful, should have been binned years ago.
The beach which is meant to be blue flag 2025, is heavily littered, has a poor stench leading up to the beach, is very drab and not worth paying for sun beds.
There are no shops nearby (only the one on site) , if you want to go to restaurants and bars outside the hotel, you will need to walk 2-3 km or catch a bus into Kos town centre.
This is my honest review and I don’t want you to be disappointed with your stay like we were. TUI should review this hotel as it falls very short of 5* quality.
Great value and spotlessly clean
Just returned from a week with my daughter and stayed in block 2000, It is an extremely clean Resort in all areas and the gardens are beautiful Staff are all great and very helpful My only moan would be the food is barely warm , heating the plates would help Great value for money and I’d definitely visit again

Not worth the money
The location of the hotel is a bit of a way out of town and best to get a bus or taxi. The atmosphere at the hotel was great and everyone was very polite and helpful. You have to pay €15 per night on arrival .
Our room we originally booked was a quiet one possibly in block 9000. However we had an upgrade from the Annex room to a junior suite compliments of the hotel.
We thought this was lovely until the following morning when we were woken up by the noise coming from the main pool. Our upgrade room was also very dated with lots of wood and there was also a drain smell coming from the bathroom too. The fridge in the room had small black bits in side! Also lots of ants around the tea and coffee table. Our beds were very hard and too hot in the room . Air con set at 22deg. There's no iron in the room,so you have to use there laundry service, which is expensive. Lack of tea and coffee in the room. House keeping were polite and done a good job, until our last day. We had a late room check out of 6pm. Our door was knocked at 5.55pm and I was told I have 3 mins to leave!
The all inclusive ends at midnight and you have to pay as you go after that! As we arrived just after midnight and hungry,the only food on offer was" sandwiches", which were actually small butter less rolls with plastic cheese slices and ham! No hot food and having to pay for drinks straight away. Not a great start at a 5 star hotel.
Food quality not great and nothing really hot in the buffet. Don't forget to feed the cats and chickens as you enjoy your cold food and flat lager. On the other hand,the Chinese alacarte was nice and all cooked fresh. The Italian was not alarcte at our time of visit. We had to get our starter,and service was rushed. The chairs were wonky and falling apart. Stay away!
We did find a buffet restaurant that was ok and not too busy. However this restaurant closed 2 days per week,and as we were there for 2 weeks this was a pain .Overall,the food is cheap and cheerful and not 5 star quality.
The drinks side of the all inclusive was plenty full and we found a good range of drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed the vibe in the Illinois bar and the team who looked after everyone were brilliant. Special shout out to Shirley for my iron!
The entertainment tent is outside and the seats were plastic and not comfortable for sitting for a long period of time. Very much family orientated entertainment,and the " lasvegas" style shows were a million miles away from that! Kids activities were non stop all day and into the night too
Lots of pools to choose from and non heated. Lucky it was very hot when we went ( 33deg). There's plenty of sun loungers,not sun beds. These too are uncomfortable to sun bath on,so make sure a get plenty of towels for padding. This also applies to the private beach for the hotel,but you have to pay to use these uncomfortable sun loungers whilst you sip on a bottle of beer that has just cost you €7.Or you could just go for a walk on the shingle. Hardly any sand. How can other hotels private beach have nice sand ?
We done 2 excursions over 2 weeks. The first fishing trip one was great fun and a lovely BBQ after catching our lunch! However,the TUI rep who came along did not interact with any of us who were there. The second trip to the volcano was a long day. 10 hours in total. It was a long way to go for little reward. We were only at the volcano for approximately half an hour and the steps down to the crator were about 12" drop each step. Lots of them too! Excellent rep on the coach and very funny too.
To summarise... This hotel is not a 5 star hotel. Possibly 3 or 4 at the most. Definitely the place to go if you have a family/ kids. The whole complex is big and past it's best. Really needs bringing into the 21st century!
