We have just returned from an 11-night stay, and overall we had a really lovely holiday. Although I personally wouldn’t rate this as a true 5-star hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here, however I don’t think I would return unless the rooms had a bit of a makeover..
The hotel was exceptionally clean throughout, and every member of staff we came across was friendly, welcoming and worked incredibly hard. The food was also very good overall, with plenty of choice. My only criticism is that after 11 nights the desserts became very repetitive, with much of the same selection available each evening. I also felt there could have been more options for children. Our children ended up living on pizza, pasta and chips for most of the holiday. It would have been nice to see things like chicken nuggets more regularly, and mash potato was only available on one evening during our entire stay.
The pools were all very clean. However, I found the main pool area to be quite cramped, with sunbeds very close together. Thankfully, we discovered a lovely quieter spot beneath the bridge at the main pool. The water was shallow, which was ideal for our younger children, and being close to the toilets was a huge bonus for me as I’m pregnant. We did have to get up early to secure sunbeds there, but it was worth it. Interestingly, our children actually preferred this area to the children’s pools. Our eldest is 12, so he had outgrown the splash areas, making this a much better option for our family.
We stayed in the satellite area, which was around an 8-minute walk from the main facilities. This didn’t bother us at all, in-fact, we rarely used the buggys as we enjoyed the walk and felt it did us good. We averaged over 14,000 steps most days!
The entertainment team were another highlight of our stay. They were always friendly, enthusiastic and welcoming, and there always seemed to be something going on throughout the day. Although our three children weren’t interested in attending the kids’ clubs, our eldest did take part in some of the sports activities and really enjoyed them. The evening entertainment was also much better than we’ve experienced on previous holidays. It was clear that a lot of effort went into the shows and performances, and they were enjoyable to watch.
The room was probably the biggest disappointment for us. I’m generally not too concerned about hotel rooms as we mainly use them to sleep and shower, but the beds were very uncomfortable, and after a few days I developed quite a bad back. The shower also wasn’t great, with very little water pressure and temperatures constantly changing from extremely hot to freezing cold.
Overall, despite a few negatives, we had a fantastic holiday. The cleanliness, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and good food far outweighed the downsides, and we made some wonderful family memories. I would definitely recommend the hotel to other families, just with the understanding that there are a few areas that could be improved.
We were greeted warmly by the reception staff and given an overview of the resort with a map. We then took a buggy over to our room and the chap driving it explained a bit more about the surroundings and showed us where some of the restaurants were. We were charged 22euro to use the safe in our room which I don't agree with being charged for. It should come as part of the room as it does in other hotels.
We had a family room over in block 4000. It was clean and spacious with 2 bedrooms and everything we needed for our 2 week stay. The beds were very comfortable. The area was quiet and easy to sleep. The shower worked well and still had hot water when showering in the evening. The air con was in both rooms and was great. Our towels and bedding were changed every time we hung the make up our room card on the door and toiletries were replaced as they ran out (all except hand soap) so we bought one from the local supermarket.
The food at the aquapark was basic but the kids enjoyed it. The crepes went down a treat. The food at the main restaurant (mesogios) was nice. We always found something we liked and the children really enjoyed the options for them. We ate at the Greek, Italian and Oriental a la carte restaurants. Across all places to eat the staff couldn't do enough for you. Things we're cleared away quickly, there was always plenty on offer and drinks orders were taken without having to wait any length of time. All the staff across the restaurants greeted us warmly and were all very kind and polite.
There are cats everywhere. Not a problem for us as we are cat lovers. Some of them are poor souls so we bought dry cat food to feed them daily. But the resort itself also has cat feeding and drinking stations around.
The entertainment team tried very hard to get people involved in pool games. It can be quite repetitive after a few days but all nice people working in the team. The evening entertainment is varied and the animation team works hard to entertain.
The on site supermarket is extremely overpriced. Far better to take the five minute walk to Maria's supermarket or 15 minute walk to Konstantinos. You'll save a lot of money at either compared to the on site easy market.
At the beach they charge you extra for using the sunbeds on the beach at 2.50euro per bed. There are drinks available as part of the all inclusive there. The beach is rocky but the sunrise and sunsets are stunning. So worth a visit just for those.
The grounds are lush and immaculate and the gardeners work hard every day at keeping it maintained. There are palm trees everywhere and lush green grass with beautiful shrubs and flowers. The pathways are also very clean.
We walked to and from Kos town from the resort 3 times during our break. The wait for taxis was over an hour. The walk to and from was 30 mins each way with plenty of places to stop to rest and cool off with a drink on route. The town had fun options like tuk tuk tours and train tours around the old town. We ate at Broadway which was outstanding for its service, price and food. We also ate at Hirodion and it was also excellent with great service and delicious home made moussaka.
The main pool is huge. The aqualand was a hit with the kids. They enjoyed the slides and the lazy river. They also enjoyed going up for unlimited crepes and slushies.
I would say this hotel is worth a visit, it's very good for families with children. It's not 5 star. The grounds are expansive and extremely well maintained. It lacks a bit of greek culture and foods, aside from the mythos restaurant. The music played in the restaurant and pools is UK mainstream chart music. The Greek theme night, although very good entertainment wise, felt more like an Egyptian or Turkish style theme night. That was the only downside for us, we felt we could have been anywhere and only really felt we were on a greek island when we visited Kos town where we heard more traditional/authentic greek music and had more options to eat Greek food. The staff at the hotel, across every area, work extremely hard. They are a credit to the resort and all very professional, kind and friendly. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay as a family of 4 with kids aged 10 and 12.
We booked here based on recommendations What a lovely hotel Staff all so friendly and helpful Love the little carts that take you round if you don’t want to walk Food lovely and plenty of variety Pools all amazing and no getting up to reserve subbed as never needed too Entertainment is great something for everyone Can catch bus outside to go into kos Would love to return again Worthy of 5* rating in our view
Lovely grounds and friendly staff, but not a 5-star experience
We stayed here last week and came away with mixed feelings.
The hotel grounds are beautiful and immaculately maintained. All of the staff we encountered were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, which made our stay more enjoyable.
Our family room was spacious, and the room itself was kept clean throughout our stay. However, it was definitely looking dated and could do with a refurbishment. The bathroom was particularly disappointing. The shower and shower curtain felt very old-fashioned and weren’t what you’d expect from a hotel claiming to be 5-star.
The food was average. There was a reasonable choice, but unfortunately it was never really hot—lukewarm at best—which was disappointing throughout our stay. One highlight was the crêpe station, which our children absolutely loved and looked forward to each day.
The all-inclusive drinks were another let-down. The beer, in particular, was very poor quality and not enjoyable at all, which was disappointing for an all-inclusive resort.
Overall, this is an okay hotel with some genuine positives, particularly the beautiful grounds, friendly staff, clean rooms, and the fantastic crêpe station for the kids. However, based on our experience, it simply doesn’t live up to its 5-star rating. With updated rooms, hotter food, and better-quality drinks, it could be much better.
Myself and my partner stayed here for a week and really enjoyed our stay. Our room was comfortable, yes a little dated, but it did the job. The biggest highlight of the hotel was the pool! It’s absolutely huge, and has plenty of room for swimming or just cooling down. It’s ideal if you are not a great swimmer as it’s not overly deep. There were plenty of sun beds, and there was no reserving sun beds before 8am (towels were removed!). Food was good, there seemed to be a good variety, along with the added bonus of themed restaurants that you can make reservations at. It would have been nice if the breakfast had more fruit though! The staff at the hotel were so friendly and super helpful. If you love cats then you’ll love it here. There are lots throughout the hotel grounds, some did look a little unwell though so I hope they get the help they need. There’s also lots of free roaming chickens and cockerels, so be aware to be woken up by them first thing in the morning! There is a shop on site but it’s very expensive. If you turn right out of the hotel entrance and walk for 5 mins you’ll come to Maria’s supermarket, much cheaper and has lots of things in it. Overall it was a lovely stay here. Definitely not 5 star, but still lovely.
