I stayed at the Aeolis hotel in Kos at the beginning of August Location - it's a good hours journey away from the airport, I would recommend getting a taxi. The hotel itself is set in well maintained grounds and kept in good condition. If you like to spend time at the beach I would recommend buying a pair of beach shoes. Accommodation- I stayed in a supreme bungalow, it was ok but nothing supreme about it. The maid kept it clean and changed bedding regularly. Food/drink- absolutely awful!!! This was definitely not up to the four star standard they advertised. I asked for glass of coke and it just tasted like a bad sparkling water, there was no option where you could help yourself to any sort of drink apart from the horrible tasting fruit juices in the restaurant. I asked for a beer at poolside bar which tasted chemically. We ended up buying all our drinks from shop onsite or when we went Kos town. The food was tasteless, poorly presented and also not a lot of options? We ended up going into Kos town a few times to get a decent meal. The restaurant was also blasting heavy metal/rock music a few times?? I ate at the poolside bar once, I got a burger, couldn't tell you if it was beef or chicken?? Some of the staff working here don't seem very happy? From what I witnessed it looks like they're short-staffed there as sometimes there was ques at the bar with at least 15 people waiting to be served! The whole bad food/drink experience ruined my holiday that i had worked hard to save for. We did complain to our jet 2 rep but nothing came of it. I would be interested to speak to the person/company that gave this hotel it's 4 star rating?
We visit we last week with our 18 year old daughter ad my mother in her 70's. We picked the hotel as it was not too far out of Kos town where we wanted to visit some of the ancient ruins as well as the harbour and bars. There was a shuttle bus from the hotel running regularly rom the hotel which was great and only cost 4 euros. The hotel staff were all so lovely and made the holiday. A big shout out for Randy in the hotel bar. His drinks mixed with he great sense of humour was superb! The reception staff were also friendly and helpful (calling up for us when our hotel transfer bus was late). Chilled atmosphere throughout and no mad scramble for beds at silly o clock. The entertainment headed up by Nils (and his female colleague) was funny but you could equally pop in to town for a range of nightlife and boat trips etc. The water polo every afternoon was very much enjoyed by our daughter. Beach on your doorstep which offered amazing views of the sunset each evening. The catering staff were legendary and made sure that my coeliac and dairy intolerant mother had soya / almond milk each morning at breakfast. They also catered for my daughter who is vegan. Lots of wonderful salads too. I have only one criticism, which may not be something which others agree with but they played music at times during the day ad at times this was rap. This was uncensored so the language was extremely graphic and unpleasant and with so many small children swimming and hearing it felt out of place and unnecessary. The use of Motherf***** etc is not something we enjoyed listening to whilst relaxing on holiday. With the exception of this we had a super holiday and would recommend the hotel to anyone who does not have small children. If they remove the few angry rap songs from their playlist then it is a great hotel for all ages. (They do a daily mini disco for the little ones.)
What made an impression was the quality of the hotel’s facilities. The well decorated bungalow felt peaceful with breathtaking views overlooking the sea. I went fully inclusive and the hospitality experience included sunset views at the beach restaurant. My favourite thing was a glass of rose, with squid but all choices were delicious. The lovely pools stood out as the best experienced because they’re great for swimming and September was quieter and I found a nice spot next to the hedges, flowering shrubs and grass to relax - it was awesome.
My wife and me have just come back from here, we stayed in a Premium Bungalow which was just right. The staff are amazing, they will do anything for you. The food is what you would expect from an all inclusive hotel, obviously it's not Michelin star but there was plenty of choice every time. We had a problem with the sliding door to the veranda which was fixed immediately. The pool area where your premium bungalow sun loungers are is awesome, nice and peaceful and quiet with an amazing view out to the Aegean. We will definitely go back, I have never been more chilled and relaxed than I was whilst I was here, we loved it .
Lovely hotel and staff. Couldn’t believe it was August peak period - it felts super calm and relaxed and we had no issues finding space for food or in the evenings. Premium bungalows were amazing and had the best views, reserved sun beds and a very nice pool that was never busy. Beach is lovely and very shallow. Some fish near the restaurant area and people snorkelled there. Loved watched the sunset on the beach after dinner. The bar queue could be long at times, they should implement self serve for water and soft drinks to help with this. The water from the machines was not nice but you could get water bottles for free. The shop on staff was great and the staff were so wonderful and friendly. Cats at the hotel were also lovely. We got the shuttle bus to town which was easy to organise and always on time. Would definitely come back for a relaxing holiday.
