White Rock of Kos

We loved everything about White Rock, the staff is exceptional. So very friendly, welcoming & polite. Our room was perfection, the two sinks & two rainfall showers were brilliant, the suite was large & the super-king bed so comfortable. Air con worked like a dream & the entire place was spotlessly clean. I could also hang my maxi dresses without them hitting the wardrobe floor or shelf, which was a treat. But the absolute best bit was our balcony, with our own pool, super comfy sun-beds & two fab chairs & a table, all with the most amazing views & sunshine from morning to sunset. The buggies that run you up & back from the main pool/reception/restaurant if needed were fantastic, came immediately you called & the drivers were so friendly & obliging. Yes, it’s a 10 minute climb back up from the beach front, and you need to be fit & able, be we didn’t find it a problem at all. We stayed half board (the food was amazing) but another time would do B&B as the portions are large & a 3 course dinner was too much for us. We would just pay for food at the hotel I think. Drinks were reasonable & great & we especially enjoyed the wine list!

The only tiny criticism would be the request for your e-ticket on arrival. We’d had a delay and were arriving late, but were pressed to forward an email twice, the first one didn’t work (they’d had seen our passports). We were really wanting a drink & something to eat & to start relaxing, rather than the forceful request to confirm our reservation digitally. I hope this procedure will be reviewed as it’s not the most welcoming start.

But everything else was wonderful & the views are exceptional. Thank you for a fabulous week!

If peace, quiet, relaxation, excellent food and glorious views are your thing, look no further. We had a fortnight at White Rock in a Signature Pool Suite with Sea View and genuinely did not want to leave.

The suite was spacious, very comfortable and clean with a turn down service which included emptying all bins at night as well as when the housekeeper was in. The views over the bay at Kefalos and Kastri Island are phenomenal and we enjoyed watching the wind surfers buzzing back and forth.

The staff were warm, welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We did try to visit restaurants in Kefalos but they either didn't serve food until 7pm which meant it would be too dark to see going back up the path to White Rock, or they gave us a menu and then ignored us. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the menu was varied. We eventually decided not to bother going out as we liked the restaurant and the waiting staff. The food was also not expensive and of course, the view!

We didn't bother to hire a car and were able to walk down to Jim's Supermarket for our wine although the path once you leave White Rock, is quite steep and shaly. Coming back up certainly got the heart rate up! Apparently, they will send a golf buggy once you are back on the property if you ring reception.

We did walk to Paradise Beach and further along beyond Magic Beach. The further along the beaches you went the quieter it got but we preferred Kockylari Beach on the other side of the Island looking out to Kalymnos. There are very few sunbeds and it is quite windy with rolling waves as it is quite shallow but it is only a 2.25 mile walk with great views along the way.

We really loved White Rock and everyone there. The main pool had plenty of sunbeds which looked very comfortable and the music was low and unintrusive. It really is a peaceful, quiet place with not much to do unless you go in search of boat trips or whatever further afield. We have booked to return next year and are counting down the days.

Quick trip from airport (15 - 20 mins) steadily climbing higher.

Arrived 2 hours late, around midnight and was quickly checked in after a cooling flannel. As the restaurant was closed they had thoughtfully made a couple of plates of sandwiches and a bottle of local wine which we had in our room.

The room was spacious with spectacular views over Kefalos from the balcony which also includes a small hot tub, a couple of comfy chairs and a table. The bathroom has a strange combination of two showers in the same cubicle. Very large bed. Breakfast was good and had great choice. Freshly squeezed orange juice is always a nice bonus. Staff fantastic and always polite and willing to help even when the issue was nothing to do with the hotel. Decided to eat twice in the hotel in the evening rather than travelling into Kefalos or further afield and the food was exceptional. The pool beds are extremely comfy with really thick cushions. Nice little bar around the pool. The pool was never busy during the day. Brilliant hotel, brilliant location, brilliant stay.
