Fab time!

Loved our time here at the Sovereign Beach. There wasn’t anything I can fault really apart from the sunbed situation but you seem to get that wherever you go!

The rooms were on the small side but comfortable and had what you needed, they were made up and cleaned each day, the cleaning staff were fab and super friendly. The views were gorgeous, we had a sea view room on the 3rd floor and waking up to see sun blazing and the beautiful blue sea was just incredible.

The location is great, a 20 mins or so stroll into kardamena village along the seafront or you could get the hotel shuttle with the lovely Artemis :) it ran twice a day, morning and night.

There was a good selection of food, something for everyone. We always found something yummy to eat! Tania and Armin in the main restaurant stood out to us, always happy to help and smiling. The gyros at the taverna was top notch! Mel is a lovely guy, always said hello and had a little chat. Sam on the pool bar and the main bar was always happy and friendly, as was Albert! Alexandra and Kayt on reception were also super helpful and helped wherever they could. Everyone was just pleasant and always said hello.

It was our daughters birthday whilst we were there and she had the best time, from her room being decorated with balloons and a thoughtful gift to a birthday dinner table along with a delicious cake. They played happy birthday and all came out to clap her, what an experience for her, we honestly couldn’t of asked for more. Thank you sovereign team!

Entertainment was good. The animation team were fab too, Enzo and the team got people involved, they were certainly busy!

We had such a fab time that we are going back in a few weeks!

Look forward to seeing you all soon!

Group visit

We have just returned from a 10 night stay here. Whilst we enjoyed our stay I'm afraid it's not somewhere we will be returning. The staff overall are lovely and helpful, however we did have a couple of negatives. One evening cleaner asked my 8 year old son to clean after he accidently spilled a drink near the bar area, not acceptable, my son was very upset about this, the male cleaner tried to tell him he'd done this on purpose, this is not something my child would do. Also friends of ours were told off by the gardener for walking on the grass around the hotel. I don't recall seeing any signs asking you to stay off the grass. The crepe lady literally looks like she is counting the minutes until she clocks off daily, very limited interaction from her and doesn't seem to enjoy her role. The cleaners do a fantastic job of cleaning the rooms daily and leaving fresh towels, however this was mixed across our group of 28 who stayed. The food was really good and the staff are really friendly in the restaurant. There is a massive shortage of sun loungers and we had to get up at 6.30am to ensure we got some, the annoying part is clearly people were reserving and then going off for the day. Our key card for the room failed a couple of times and we had to get reception to reset, little annoying. Taxis are a nightmare and for the length of time you are waiting you may aswell walk. The walk is lovely down the sea front into kardamena. The rooms aircon isn't the best but ours did work a little, other members of our group had to complain and it was dealt with swiftly and new air con installed. Overall some elements of the hotel, including the lovely helpful man on the reception and the shop people deserve a massive pat on the back and others theres room for improvement. I would still recommemd this hotel to fellow travellers, the views are just stunning and the weather was beautiful. The facilities meet expectation and most of the staff are just beautiful.

Fantastic experience, Fantastic staff!

We have just returned home from a long weekend at Sovereign Beach to celebrate a family wedding. The hotel itself is clean, the rooms are well sized with all amenities and our room had a huge balcony with a beautiful sea view. The food at the hotel I found to be really good - we are a family of fussy eaters so normally find ourselves struggling at all inclusive buffets but the selection and quality each night was fantastic and everyone left full. The beach bar serves gorgeous gyros throughout the day and the self serve ice cream at the pool bar was a big hit with our children. The pool is clean and well kept, sunbeds are reserved early but we were always able to find spare sunbeds stacked up to put out ourselves. A 30 minute walk down the coastal road at the back of the hotel takes you into Kardamena town which is beautiful with lots of bars, restaurants and boat trips - be aware taxis are few and far between here so be prepared for over an hour wait or the walk back - we did the walk back with 2 small children late at night but the road is well lit and traffic very respectful and give lots of room so the walk is fine with the right footwear! The staff at the hotel where fantastic during our stay, always on hand to assist with anything we needed including multiple taxi bookings and they were always so friendly and helpful but even more so after we left. I realised I had lost my engagement ring on returning home and emailed the hotel on the off chance that it would be found/handed in but had accepted the fact I wouldn't see it again. This morning the hotel have emailed me with a photograph of my ring that they have gone out of there way to look for! I can't believe they have found it and are returning it, there aren't many people in the world that would, I am absolutely over the moon and can't thank them enough!!!

Good value hotel

Just arrived home from the Sovereign Beach Hotel. This review is based on paying £2300 for the 3 f us in my family on a 10 days all inclusive package holiday during the kids holidays in July. I’m a frequent traveller who doesn’t expect 5* luxury for paying this. Stayed in room 138, 15th - 25th June.

Good Bits

  • hotel absolutely spotless
  • animation team fantastic especially Ally
  • lovely hotel grounds
  • friendly staff
  • great facilities
  • very good food and drinks
  • lovely 20 mins stroll into Kardamena
  • great beach (but take beach shoes)
  • hotel offers excellent value
  • free shuttle into Kardamena
  • beach bar does lovely snacks with good staff

Bad Bits

  • air conditioning absolutely rubbish causing many restless nights during our stay
  • people putting towels down around the pool at 6.30-7am. All had gone by 7.45am. Typically many of those reserving would have a morning down at the beach or at the shops then come back early afternoon. Nothing in place to enforce this as with other hotels I’ve stayed. The hotel grounds are big enough for more pool areas as there’s nowhere near enough sunloungers and the pool gets rather crowded
  • the food is very good. However never any potato or vegetable options to make a proper meal.
  • rooms need more storage. There’s one wardrobe which for families is a bit of a struggle

We had a lovely holiday but we won’t return to the hotel due to the pool situation and dreadful air conditioning.

Home away from home

Absolutely loved our stay here,it's my home away from home. We had returned her after a previous holiday at this hotel in 2024 and everyone remembered us and honestly we couldn't wait to come back. Staff are absolutely the best,we are fortunate to travel a lot throughout the year and these guys are the best 👌. 5* absolutely not, really does fall short here, rooms are dated HOWEVER the treatment from the second you walk in till the second you leave is beyond the 5* . The food was amazing, I was limited ( personal weight loss journey) however that's on me and in no way the fault of the restaurant but everything I did have absolutely amazing and everything my husband ate he was beyond happy with. The restaurant staff... My gal Tania she's an absolute gem,she always made sure we were looked after and arranged for a special treat to be delivered to the room which was incredibly touching also gave me a few sweet treats to take away a few times 😂. Ruchell what a lady she is, always smiling and always making sure we were okay and cleared tables faster than lightning. Affrim, love this man he is the smiliest happiest chap, loved a wee banter with him, he would also run in from the outside to clear a table the second someone left what a guy!. Chefy as I called him, didn't speak much but would watch the room like a hawk and noticed I was watching what I was eating and did make a few bits here and there especially at lunch time for me to comfortably eat without the worry although....making sure I had a few donuts each day defeated the purpose 🤣🤣🤪. All in all ALL THE RESTAURANT STAFF/CHEFS AMAZING 👏 .

Pool bar...My Sam,what can I say,he looked after Boss and little boss very well and wanted to look after me (boss) more however weight watching and cocktails/alcohol aren't the best of friends however he's the best and between him and Ken still managed to get me ( shwinging) a few times. Mel as always the best at the taverna, we didn't eat as much this time as we did before but would still pop in to see him and have a cuppa that said when we did eat we were stuffed till next morning 🤣. Loved seeing his son working behind the bar and now as sneaky as his dad when pouring drinks 🍸 😂.

I had my bday here again and again I was treated very well from management,we were actually having such a great time and so chilled we forgot it was my bday 🤣🤣 ,we had a swim up room this time the pool was way to cold to use but this was mid May but we absolutely loved it,quite so relaxing just wonderful. We Loved the fact we had a birds nest on our terrace, we watched them build and then the babies hatch sadly left just a day or so before they werebig enough to poke heads out, hearing all the swallows and other birds having their morning chat and rants was so funny, noisy yes but a joy to hear and see ,they were there before the hotel was so I love the fact they stay at the hotel and co exist without fear, loved seeing all the nests with the babies in absolute joy.Never remove the birds please,we have destroyed so much wild life habitats so it was wonderful to see a hotel sharing the space with them!! Also being a green hotel you definitely should be so chuffed with so many different species around. Had an amazing thunderstorm while we were there, made my day never had one like it before this was brilliant

Will be back in May 2027 😁😁 We miss our family at the Sovereign 😍😍😍 Love from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
