The Sovereign Beach hotel is set directly on a sandy beach in a quiet area on the island of Kos, approximately two kilometres away from the seaside village of Kardamena, where visitors can enjoy local restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Guests may simply relax at the beach or by the substantial outdoor pool with sun loungers and parasols, or participate in a wide variety of land and water sports from football and tennis to water polo. The hotel's comfortably appointed twin rooms, family rooms, 2 bedroom bungalows as well as thew new swim-up rooms and whirlpool rooms are furnished with mini fridge, TV, safe box, air-conditioning, pull-out sofa bed, en suite bathroom, and a balcony or terrace with sea or garden view. Guests may enjoy buffet-style meals with authentic Greek, Italian and Mediterranean cuisine at the hotel restaurant. This hotel provides the ideal base for exploring the island or a relaxing holiday of sea and sun for families and couples alike.

Excellent stay
Just returned from the Sovereign Beach hotel after a 10 night stay. The pros of the hotel- amazing views, spotless communal areas, always able to get a sun bed, good choice of food, grounds well maintained, amazing staff including the animation team big shout out Ibra who always made the time to come say hello and have a chat, hotel a nice 20 min walk to Kardamena town, quick transfer time from airport. The cons- can only pay tourist tax by cash so bare this in mind, could benefit from more bins around pool area, the free shuttle to town only has two drop off and pick up times. Very minor cons which could easily be rectified. Overall we would definitely come back and recommend this hotel. Thank you Sovereign hotel for a wonderful stay.
Great hotel
An excellent hotel on the outskirts of Kardamena—a 20-minute walk along the beach or a ride on the hotel shuttle. It was my second time there; the staff made a lovely gesture by providing a bottle of champagne, a fruit platter, and a thank-you note for my return visit. The views from the room were fantastic, and both the pool and the beach were superb. The food was very good, as were the drinks.

Summer holiday and birthday celebration
Had a lovely time at this hotel we had a swim up bungalow it was fantastic. Hotel was spotless clean . Food was lovely really good choice. Drinks was very good they had a lot to choose from. Definitely be going back next year

Our 9th visit
We have just returned from our 9th holiday at Hotel Sovereign, and once again, it exceeded all our expectations. Sovereign has truly become our home away from home. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so warmly welcomed. The flawless service, outstanding food, and wonderfully attentive staff create an incredible atmosphere that keeps us coming back year after year. A massive thank you to the entire team for making another stay so unforgettable. Roll on visit number 10!
Not 5* - suggest other resorts in the area.
The reviews of this place absolutely blow my mind - please take heed of the lower star reviews before booking as they appear more reflective of parties who have travelled to 5* resorts to have a comparison.
The hotel is unfortunately very dated and needs major refurbishment. The swim up pools and beds/patio areas are nice, but to get a drink its a convoluted walk around different walls and then you're served small drinks in soft plastic cups. One time the soft drinks from tap tasted like line cleaner and the bar tender just told me "it was warm from the sun" however I had literally got it 1 minute before hand and it was clearly chemicals.
There is only one small restaurant with a small snack shack "taverna" but it needs an overhaul and more effort made to compare with other 5* in the area. This hotel is a 3 at best, with the attitudes once a complaint is raised being extremely poor. There are ways and means to help people enjoy their stay, and cancelling their key card all the time, harassing them in the restaurant and making them feel uncomfortable is not that. The people in room 2 up from us left after 2 days.
Staff were also overheard discussing complaints with other guests at the bar which was unprofessional at best. Really poor stay and a waste of almost £2000 for 1 week. Astir Odysseus and Mitsis Norida up the road are much better for comparable costs - We will now not be returning to Kardamaina after a bad experience at this hotel.
