Mitsis Norida Beach

Last week, I stayed at the hotel. I am very familiar with the Mitsis hotel chain and have always considered it to be a good, professional, and successful company. Unfortunately, this time the experience was completely different, and my vacation turned into a major disappointment.

I would like to share a few key points from the many disappointments we experienced during our stay:

1. The bathroom in our room was faulty throughout our stay. The water in the bathtub did not drain properly, the water pressure from the bathtub faucet was very weak, and every time we took a shower, the bathtub would essentially flood. There was also an unpleasant sewage smell. We reported the issue to the hotel staff, and maintenance staff were sent to try to resolve it, but the problem was never fixed. Furthermore, no one from the staff offered to move us to another room. Only on the last day, when we raised the issue with the reception representative, who was very kind and helpful, she herself could not understand why we had not been offered another room in the first place.
2. We received a room that did not match our reservation. We booked a room with a double bed, but were given two separate beds instead. Needless to say, this was very disappointing, especially since this is a basic and important detail of a hotel reservation.
3. We were stuck in the elevator twice during our stay. This was an unpleasant and stressful experience in itself, especially when it happens twice during a vacation that is supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable. Beyond the discomfort, it also raised serious concerns for us regarding the maintenance and safety of the hotel.

These are just a few examples from the overall experience we had during our vacation. I am raising these issues not because I am looking for reasons to complain, but precisely because I know the Mitsis brand and expect a significantly higher standard from it.

Unfortunately, in this case, we felt that we did not receive the level of service and hospitality we expected, and in some situations, we did not feel that sufficient effort was made to provide a proper solution or compensate for experiences that could have been avoided.

I would appreciate receiving your full response regarding this matter, and in particular, I would like to understand how you intend to address the situation and what you are prepared to offer as compensation for the distress and disappointing experience we had.

I hope you will take this complaint seriously, as from my perspective there was a significant gap between my expectations from the Mitsis brand and the experience I actually received.

This is our 2nd time at the Norida and it didn't disappoint. The hotel is great; very friendly helpful staff, immaculate grounds, very clean, lovely rooms and excellent food. We had a room with mountain views which was perfect. We're not usually ones for evening entertainment but it's so good here. Brilliant location too. Fabulous beach and a short bus ride into Kardamena - €2. We came back to our room yesterday and had a lovely surprise. We found a bottle of fizz in an ice bucket with a plate of baklava. How thoughtful

What an absolutely fantastic holiday we have had at Mitsis Norida. Nothing was too much for the wonderful staff here, I genuinely don’t want to name certain employees as every single one we came across gave us a wonderful and friendly 5 star service so I wouldn’t want to miss anyone. Our room was at the top of the big hill, 332 but what fabulous sea views made up for the walk, and it is easy to get a golf buggy lift up the hill, just ask at reception. Our room was a spacious double room with plenty of space and clean. The pool areas were lovely, September being quieter, there were plenty of beds still around 8-8.30 but would fill up after that. Pools are cold initially but once you are in you will be glad of this, it soon warms up! The beach area is stunning, plenty of sunbeds, a bar and very nice pizza and gyros available. (Gyros from the summer palace side - on the left as you look at the sea). Food was great and varied, we ate at the buffet a couple of nights, three nights booked at the à la carte restaurants and one night out in Kardamena. The à la carte restaurants can be booked before you go via the Mitsis app and if you don’t have your reservation number, email the hotel they will give it to you. We also booked the grill for breakfast twice which was a nice setting for a later breakfast in front of the sea. Varied drinks available we had mainly cocktails and enjoyed trying most of them. I could bang on all day about our fabulous break but unfortunately it’s soon time to get back to rain and reality. Not getting into the 5/4/3 star debate but for us the memories and enjoyment we got from staying at this fabulous hotel were well beyond 5 stars. I can’t wait to return at some point in the future. X
