We had an unforgettable family vacation at Mitsis Family Village! Everything was simply outstanding. The hotel is beautiful, spotless, and very well maintained. The food was excellent with a great variety every day, the pools were fantastic, and the atmosphere throughout the resort was warm, relaxing, and family-friendly. What impressed us the most was the exceptional service. Every member of the staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making our stay perfect. Before our arrival, we experienced an issue with our reservation, and I was very worried. A very special thank you goes to Irini Maragou, who went above and beyond to help us. She patiently investigated the issue, made sure we received the correct room, kept us updated, and even welcomed us personally when we arrived at the hotel. Her kindness, professionalism, and dedication completely changed our experience. The Superior Family Sharing Pool Room was absolutely perfect. Having direct access to the pool made our family vacation even more enjoyable, and our children loved every minute of it. Thank you to the entire Mitsis Family Village team for making our holiday so memorable. We will definitely be back and will happily recommend this hotel to everyone looking for an amazing family vacation in Kos!
The hotel is set amongst beautiful grounds with lovely views on the sea and mountains. The hotel is one of half a dozen in the area, all owned by Mitsis. The rooms are all low level. Upon check in, the reception staff took us by car to the room. The area itself can be quite hilly depending on your room. The reception area goes into the main buffet restaurant, the main bar, a little arcade for the kids and the pool. The pool area is lovely, no issues getting a lounger spot but I think a lot of people prefer the beach. I’m a sunbather personally. The pool is quite salty & my kids didn’t like it. Around 200/300 metres there is a pool with slides, my kids preferred this pool, it wasn’t salty and the slides are amazing. Loungers are a lot more comfortable & they played 80’s music- win win. The barman Kostas, is so hard working & works alone serving drinks. No cocktails at this bar just draft drinks.
The beach is around 300m from the pool slides- here you can find the snack bar & pizza bar. The lovely lady doing the gyros is so kind. I think that’s the one thing missing, there isn’t a snack bar near the main pool. The ice cream & crepe counter is a lovely touch but there is just one person working there & it can get busy for them.
We didn’t struggle getting anything to eat at the main buffet, but if you or your child are fussy there is no pizza, nuggets etc at dinner time. You are in Greece, not that I would expect it.
The girls at night time work so hard getting everyone drinks, the bar man at Ruby Sunset works alone. I had a few mango mojitos & they were delicious. My kids loved the pink lemonades.
I didn’t stick around for the night entertainment so can’t comment but stuck around for the quiz & did win! The entertainment is around the main pool & it looks lovely in the evening all lit up.
The diamonds for me were the reception girls, so lovely and helpful. Georgia was incredible & efficient, she ordered me a taxi to and from Kardamena town- I was panicking in town as I couldn’t get a taxi with my children but Georgia sorted me out straight away and we got back safely. Taxi to Kardamena using the hotel’s service is €30 return.
Kardamena itself is very lovely, quite small in comparison to some other resorts in Europe but we had a lovely meal at NAMA Sushi and picked up some lovely souvenirs. You will struggle to get a taxi back to your resort so ensure your hotel can help.
Upon leaving, the lovely lady organised us a transfer to the airport. It cost €36. I can’t remember her name, but she is such a lovely lady. The taxi at the airport was €25 to the hotel. But taxis were sparse- I think I got in lucky getting one, so I would arrange a transfer for getting to your hotel & back.
To conclude, this hotel was a lovely introduction to Greece & I hope to return one day.
It was a really enjoyable stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it.
The hotel is located on top of a hill, which gives it lovely views. On one side, you can see the sea, and on the other side, you have views of the mountains, creating a very pleasant atmosphere.
Although the hotel isn’t directly on the beach, this wasn’t a problem. There is a regular shuttle bus that takes guests to the beach, or you can take a short walk instead. Between the hotel and the beach, there is a pool with water slides, and you can also play table tennis there. There are plenty of activities around the main pool throughout the day for both adults and younger guests. There is also a mini club where younger children can take part in games and activities.
The food was very good, with a nice variety each day. We especially enjoyed the themed evenings, such as Italian, Asian, and Greek cuisine, as they offered something different every night. There was also a good selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The snack bar was another great addition, serving sweet and savoury crêpes as well as ice cream until late in the evening.
One thing that really stood out during our stay was the staff. Everyone, from the reception and front/back office team to the waiters, bartenders, entertainment staff, and restaurant hostesses, was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They were always smiling and happy to assist, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
Overall, it was a very pleasant holiday and I would happily stay here again. I would especially recommend this hotel to families because there are plenty of activities for children, but I think couples and solo travellers would also enjoy staying here
Great Service, Elina was the best!
My last day at MITSIS canvas family village hotel ☹️. I couldn’t recommend it enough. Me and my wife have stayed here for the last 7days and it’s been a very nice stay the rooms are spacious and very clean, the staff are very friendly and welcoming and can’t do enough for you working tireless, the food is decent but in my opinion, it’s better at lunchtime than it is in the evening as there’s more choice at lunchtime, also they do run out of glasses a lot for the drinks. The pool is really good always kept extremely clean. They may need to look at better sun beds in the future as they’re very thin and not very comfortable. The drinks are really nice with plenty of options and there’s only a choice of four cocktails but there’s plenty of drinks to drink as they sell local rum whiskey so you always find something to drink. The transfer to the beach is great it comes every half hour from 9:30 the beach is really nice with a bar and two food places that are delicious and they are included with your package. All in all it’s a lovely place with amazing staff that work so hard, don’t believe the bad reviews you read on this place.
