Akti Palace

We stayed at Akti Palace in August for 10 nights as a family of 3. Overall, we had a lovely holiday and would recommend it to others. My only gripe is that we booked the hotel for a premium experience and it’s pitched as Ultra all-inclusive and this is why my review is so critical as I don’t think it was worth the high price we paid. The staff are absolutely amazing. They work tirelessly and always polite and smiling. Every interaction with staff, they would go above and beyond to help. I didn’t get all the names, but a big shout out to our tennis coach Salvador and his patience teaching us the fundamentals. The whole team at the hotel deserves credit for their hard work.

The hotel is immaculate and spacious with the beach and water sports a short walk away but did lack a few modern features. The rooms could have been a bit bigger and need modernising. The safe is operated with a physical key rather than a code so you then have the additional hassle of thinking about where to put it. The bathroom needed updating and the twin beds should be secured together so you don’t fall through the middle as they slide apart in the night! I have also never been to a hotel where I had to leave a €20 deposit to use an iron. On a plus, we had a room with a shared pool. I recommend this as it saves the stress on the sunbed wars. We used our pool in the morning and then moved to the larger pool later in the afternoon when the beds freed up.

I had a spa experience with my child, and it was amazing. Thank you to Esmerelda and Sam. My child is now obsessed with spas after his chocolate massage. This was a highlight of our holiday.

The gym was my disappointment. I know not everyone wants to exercise on holiday, but a good gym is a priority when booking so I was extremely disappointed. Use the gym with caution. It’s dangerous and outdated. Equipment is dirty, rusty, broken and the weights have the labels worn off so you have to work out what you are using.

The food and drink areas were spacious with a great atmosphere. Entertainment is on every night at the pool bar where they had dancing and music shows. The cocktails on the menu are from pre-mixed bottles and not many drinks were premium labels.

During our stay, we had meal at each of the 3 themed restaurants and to be honest, the food in the buffet is way better, though the service as always was 5 star. You don’t get a choice in the meal or start time. Everyone eats at 7. They made a note that I don’t eat pork, but rather than an alternative I was served just pureed vegetables. If I had to choose, the best restaurant was the seafood one.

Overall, I really enjoyed our holiday, but Hotel Akti doesn’t deliver the Ultra all-inclusive experience they promised.

Beautiful setting, staff very friendly and very helpful. The rooms were spotlessly cleaned each day. Massage in the spa was perfect (masseuse Sam was great). Good selection of freshly cooked food on offer. We tried the Red Elephant restaurant on site and it was lovely. We only wish we had tried the others (Greek and Seafood) which are included all-inclusive, however we left it too late in our trip to book these. The complementary bus into Kardemena is frequent and punctual, though does fill up fast, leaving only standing space for some passengers. The journey is only around 10 minutes so this is no issue, but might be worth arriving early if you need to have a seat. You have the use of facilities in the neighboring hotel, Akti Beach, which offers the option to use their pools, dining etc. Overall, we have had a lovely time and would highly recommend Akti Palace. Thank you to all staff.

Our second visit to Akti Palace – and I’m sure it won’t be our last! ❤️

This was our second time staying at Akti Palace, and once again, it absolutely did not disappoint. I came with my two best girlfriends and, as we all still work full-time, we were looking for somewhere we could properly switch off, relax by the pool, enjoy fabulous food, dress up for dinner, have a few cocktails, and enjoy some great entertainment.

Akti Palace has ''all of that and more!''

We had such a wonderful time and I want to say a huge thank you to Natella, Christos, Savvas, Fatma on the morning eggs, and the lovely man for the delicious pancakes in the evening!! And, all the other amazing staff whose names my friends and I didn’t manage to remember. You are all so friendly, welcoming and hardworking, and you really do make the experience so very special.

And then there is ,Yiannis – the most amazing DJ ever!** 🎶 What a brilliant atmosphere he creates. And MP2 – you were absolutely brilliant too! We loved every minute. Thank you! xx We danced nearly every single night!

A special mention has to go to Aspasia on reception, who I’m sure will never forget the three of us asking for a taxi to take us approximately 600 metres to the next hotel because we had our heels on! 😂👠 Sometimes girls just have to know their limits!🤣

The restaurant team also deserve a massive thank you. The restaurant manager and all the beautiful waitresses and waiters who looked after us were fantastic. We always chose to sit outside and loved the atmosphere, the food and the wonderful service.

And let’s not forget the 'unsung heroes'– the staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes, keeping everything clean and fresh, including the toilets, which were always spotless. As well as the chefs, gardeners, the room cleaning staff, the pool attendants, the lifeguards and everyone else who helps make the resort run so smoothly. Everything was perfect! xx

We tried to tip as many people as we could because we genuinely felt that everyone deserved recognition. Our appreciation was enormous – and, quite honestly, they absolutely deserved even more! ❤️

Our room was fabulous too, with an upstairs and downstairs, and it was perfectly located close to the pool. It was lovely to have such a comfortable space to come back to after a day of relaxing.

And I have to give a 'huge shout-out to the Asian restaurant experience' – absolutely one of the highlights of our stay. The food and the whole experience were fantastic. We loved the fish restaurant too, but the Asian was definitely our favourite.

What we particularly love about Akti Palace is the 'ambience'. There is something about this place that is difficult to find elsewhere.

For three women in their 60s who still work full-time, being able to come somewhere where we can completely relax during the day, enjoy a book, the pool and sunshine, eat lovely food, then get dressed up and enjoy a beautiful dinner and entertainment in the evening is exactly what we were hoping for.

If we had one tiny niggle – and honestly, it really is only a tiny one – it would be lovely to see the evening dress code encouraged a little more for the men. As we girls love getting dressed up for dinner, seeing the men in long trousers and a collared shirt would just add that extra touch to the evening atmosphere. But this certainly didn't spoil our holiday in any way. The mandolin music in the background was idyllic as we dined. We even enjoyed a wonderful massage at the spa .

And finally… We don't care what anyone says, we loved the ready-mixed cocktails!🍹 What more could three girls ask for?!
