A Huge Disappointment – Definitely Not a Luxury Hotel Experience Let’s start with the room, because that was where the biggest disappointment began. On the second day of our stay, we discovered that the room was full of tiny ants. We contacted reception and asked to change rooms. At first, we were told that the request needed to be approved by a manager and that, in the meantime, someone would be sent to clean the room. Eventually, we were moved to another room — only to discover tiny ants there as well. At that point, it was clear that this was not an isolated issue with just one room. Coming on holiday to a hotel at this price and supposedly of this standard, only to deal with ants in two different rooms, was a nightmare. The toilet in the first room also did not work properly, with water constantly running from the cistern. In addition, the air-conditioning units in the rooms are old and do not cool properly, which made staying in the room uncomfortable, especially in the Kos heat. The shower and toilet also offer very little privacy because of the glass partitions. The overall maintenance of the rooms was far below what we expected from a hotel in this price category. The food was another major disappointment. The selection was very limited and simply not what you would expect from a hotel that presents itself as a high-end resort. At dinner, the meat options were mainly chicken breast and schnitzel, with very little variety and nothing that felt like a luxury hotel dining experience. What surprised us even more was that even regular water during meals was not available free of charge. If you want water with your meal, you have to pay for it. In my opinion, it is ridiculous that guests at a hotel of this price and supposed standard cannot even have regular water with their meal without an additional charge. Getting around the hotel is also very inconvenient. There are endless stairs, and you constantly have to go up and down to reach the rooms, pools, and different areas of the resort. There is no convenient elevator access connecting all parts of the hotel, which makes getting around tiring, especially for older guests. Unfortunately, apart from the pools and the view, which are genuinely beautiful, our overall experience was extremely disappointing: ants in two different rooms, a toilet that did not work properly, old air-conditioning units that do not cool properly, poor room maintenance, very limited food choices, charges for water during meals, and endless stairs. We expected a relaxing and luxurious holiday but instead had a frustrating and disappointing experience. I would not return to this hotel and, based on our experience, I cannot recommend it.
This is mine and my wife’s third time visiting here at Michelangelo. The location, service and overall rating of this hotel is absolutely a 5* in my opinion. The view of the sea over the infinity pool is nothing like I have seen before. All of the staff are so welcoming and friendly calling you ma’am or sir. Everyone is happy to help and just so polite. Everything is thought of here and accommodated for including rides in the buggy to and from your hotel room. The food is amazing too! The room service is fantastic, a big shout out and thank you to our lovely Georgia who cleaned our room and looked after us for the week. You’re amazing and we can’t thank you enough. You went above and beyond. We will absolutely visit again I am sure. You get what you pay for. fantastic value for money. Everywhere is spotless and clean. Thank you!
Overall, this hotel is an easy 10/10. I’ve seen a few reviews claiming it isn’t truly five‑star, and honestly, they must have been on a completely different holiday, or they’re simply very hard to impress. From the moment we arrived, everything about the place felt premium, welcoming, and genuinely well thought‑out.
Starting with the pool, it’s outstanding. You really couldn’t ask for a better setup. The water is clean and refreshing, the views are incredible, and the whole area feels beautifully maintained. The sun loungers deserve a special mention too: they’re extremely comfortable, the kind you can genuinely fall asleep on without even trying. They’re miles better than the usual plastic loungers you get elsewhere. Every facility around the pool and hotel grounds was spotless and easy to use, which made relaxing effortless.
The staff were another major highlight. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and clearly proud of the service they provide. During meals, they offered full table service, and in the evenings they’d bring drinks directly to your table while still managing to make small, genuine conversation despite being busy. The pool bar team were brilliant, chatty, upbeat, and always happy to help. The restaurant staff were just as impressive, consistently checking whether you’d like another drink or anything else to make your meal even better.
Food and drink were excellent across the board. The buffet restaurant had plenty of variety, including themed nights three or four times a week, which kept things interesting. The salads were fresh and plentiful, and the à la carte restaurants were genuinely delicious, great food, great atmosphere, and staff who were once again incredibly accommodating. I’d absolutely recommend making use of them during your stay. The drinks were fantastic too; it’s such a treat to be served proper glasses in a hotel, and even the poolside plastic ones were high‑quality. You also have the option to purchase drinks outside the all‑inclusive package if you fancy something different. We tried a couple, and the pornstar martini was genuinely brilliant.
Evening entertainment was another strong point. There was a good variety each night, and although it was clearly geared more towards adults, children were still included and made to feel part of the fun.
The location is ideal for anyone wanting a peaceful break. Set on the cliffs and away from the hustle and bustle, the hotel feels like a proper escape. If you’re after a relaxing holiday, this place absolutely delivers.
The rooms were great too, clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The only thing I’d suggest is updating the air‑conditioning units. They worked, but the airflow didn’t disperse evenly, so the room could feel a little warm at times. That said, it was still much cooler than outside, and we slept perfectly well.
In my opinion, this hotel is absolutely five‑star. I would return without hesitation. It was a perfect holiday for me and my partner, and I’d recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a high‑quality, relaxing getaway.
