Honest review for 10 night stay with family. We arrived just in time for dinner so allowed to dine before checking in which was appreciated. Hotel is overall clean and furnished really well, lots of pretty white interiors and furnishings which are kept spotless. Lovely basins in the public toilets which are also kept clean. Rooms cleaned daily. Beds really comfortable and bungalow rooms spacious enough. Lovely fluffy towels in rooms and decent pool towels too. Pool areas well maintained and kept clean. Enough comfy sunbeds available although best spots obviously get snapped up quickly. Stunning views of the sea and great spot to watch sunrise. If you're looking for a lush beach this may fall short. Beach is pebbly with slippery rocks which makes entering and coming out of the sea tricky at best. The beach and water are really clean though. Food was not great overall which lets the hotel down. Salads were good though, and the odd dish was good enough, but a lot of the meat and fish were dry and overcooked. Not the best quality generally and desserts were sloppy, sweet and not good. Most, but not all of the waiting staff were attentive and polite especially all the Phillipino staff who were always eager to please. Drinks were a bit hit and miss, very inconsistent and service was too. We got offered drinks at the pool and beach on last 2 days which was a surprise as I was unaware this was a service they provided so not sure if it was too busy prior to that or what. This is a chill holiday to relax, so if you're looking for lots of activities then this might not be for you. Evening entertainment was mixed, some good, some not so good. Special mentions go to Z and Amber the 2 animators who bring a positive vibe, to Ilias, Jenny and Tania at the pool bar who did great jobs and the other ladies who worked here too (sorry I didn't get your names) Service manager George works very hard and gets everywhere. Staff are hardworking overall. Easy bus outside hotel to town, which is well worth visiting. Hot springs are close by too.
My partner and I arrived at Dimitra we got amazing service as soon as we arrived. We got taken to our room by buggy by a very friendly staff member who told us everything to know. The food was amazing and they had themed nights every night so it was different foods, this really made the experience! There was a fabulous bar menu with lots of cocktails and spirits to choose from. All of the bar and restaurant staff were incredibly attentive and couldn’t have faulted their service at all. We really couldn’t have found anything negative about our stay, the room was cleaned daily and the fridge restocked. all the areas were very clean and pools cleaned daily. Fun entertainment every night too, also was table service which is a nice touch. The staff all were so lovely and friendly, they didn’t stop all evening!! They always had a smile on their face!! Thank you so so much for making our stay to lovely, it really was amazing experience and would highly recommend. again the staff were amazing and really made the holiday feel special!
Amazing hotel. Location is perfect within a free 15 minute bus journey into Kos town right outside the hotel there is a bus stop to jump on. Chilled atmosphere with lovely views and it feels like paradise. The rooms are spacious, modern and have everything you need if not more. Mattresses are like clouds and we had a week of amazing sleeps whilst we were there. Amazing value for all inclusive, good quality food and drinks and the entertainment was amazing. Also the staff deserve huge credit, from the bars to the restaurants to the every day staff they were all unbelievably friendly and couldn’t do anything more for you and they would go out of their way to get you anything you need. We even met the hotel manager who was really friendly and chatty asking how our stay was and was there anything we needed. Even gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne and a birthday cake made for us for my Partners 30th birthday which shows just how amazing the people at this hotel are. We didn’t want to come home. We Will be back in the future for another amazing stay.
Our holiday did not get off to the best start. A three hour delay to our TUI flight from Bristol meant we finally arrived at Dimitra Beach Hotel & Suites just a couple of minutes before midnight, tired, hungry and ready for bed.
Within minutes of arriving, all of that was forgotten.
The welcome we received was exceptional.
George, the night manager, could not have been kinder or more courteous. He checked us in quickly and immediately told us not to worry about anything and to head into the restaurant, where some food had been made available for the delayed guests. After hours of travelling, being able to sit down with something light to eat and a drink was exactly what we needed.
Then came an unexpected surprise.
George had kindly upgraded us from our sea view room to a sea view junior room. We had not asked for it and certainly were not expecting it, which made the gesture even more appreciated.
Rather than sending us off into the dark dragging our cases behind us, a porter loaded our luggage onto one of the hotel buggies and drove us to our room. It was only around a three minute walk from reception, but late at night, after a long journey and with bags in tow, it was another small touch that made a big impression.
That first hour summed up our entire week.
The room was spotlessly clean when we arrived and remained that way throughout our stay. Housekeeping did an excellent job every day and our fridge and minibar were replenished regularly. Everything felt cared for.
But the real stars of Dimitra Beach are the people.
Everywhere we went, members of staff smiled and said hello. Cleaners, restaurant staff, bar staff, pool staff and waiters all made us feel genuinely welcome.
Not just welcome, actually. Special.
A particular mention has to go to Jimmy in the restaurant and the team working alongside him, together with Dennis around the top pool, who was always friendly and kind. There were many others whose names I unfortunately did not manage to catch, but the service throughout the hotel was consistently excellent.
One thing that particularly impressed us was the drinks service.
You did not need to be sitting directly beside a bar. Staff regularly walked around the pools and seating areas asking whether anyone would like a drink. It meant you could settle down, relax and properly switch off.
The hotel itself is also wonderfully spacious.
There are areas where you can enjoy the atmosphere and be surrounded by other guests, but there are equally plenty of quieter areas if you want some peace.
One day we found an area with four large double sun loungers and spent virtually the whole day there. We were the only people using them.
That sense of space is something we really loved.
The pools have plenty of comfortable sunbeds and you are also only a stone's throw from the beach.
And what a beach.
The sea is beautiful and crystal clear. The beach is pebbly, so I would definitely recommend bringing proper water shoes with a reasonably firm sole. They make getting in and out of the sea much easier.
Also pack a snorkel.
There are areas just offshore where you can swim amongst plenty of fish, which was one of those simple holiday experiences that you remember long afterwards.
Then there is the food.
Oh my goodness, the food.
It was outstanding.
I honestly do not think I have ever seen so many different salads in one place.
The choice every day was enormous. There was plenty for meat lovers, including chicken, pork, veal and beef. At one meal we were even served Beef Wellington, which was superb.
Whatever your tastes, you would struggle not to find something you enjoyed.
The desserts were creative, beautifully presented and plentiful, while there was always a large selection of fresh fruit available too.
Most importantly, the quality remained consistently high throughout the week. It never felt like quantity was being provided at the expense of quality.
So would we return?
Without hesitation.
There are hotels with beautiful pools.
There are hotels with great food.
There are hotels with lovely beaches.
Dimitra Beach Hotel & Suites has all three.
But that is not ultimately why we will come back.
We will return because of the people.
From the moment George welcomed two exhausted travellers just before midnight until the moment we left, we felt looked after.
The hotel is beautifully clean, the food is excellent, the location is stunning and there is enough space to either enjoy everything that is going on or find your own quiet corner.
But above everything else, Dimitra Beach made us feel cared for.
And when a hotel manages to do that, you remember it.
We will definitely be back.
Sitting on a sunbed in the adults only area on our last day of a fabulous 2 week holiday. Sad it’s come to an end.
Location is perfect for us ..peaceful & the view of the Aegean Sea is stunning.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, our bungalow room 215 is bright & sea view from the patio.
The staff are all amazing & cannot do enough to help you. My daughter celebrated her 17th & she had a gorgeous cake. We have been looked after by everyone so well & they all work so hard.
The atmosphere at entertainment is great and again views of the sea. Good variety but special mention to the opera singers from Rhodes ( el divos ? Can’t remember name) but they were excellent !
Pools are clean, plenty of sunbeds week 2 but you do need to be down to pool by 9ish.
Gym at sister hotel 5’ walk. Bus stop to Kos town right outside & can get a cab back.
Restaurants are super well organised by George. Good variety of food available & themed nights of different cuisines. Had 2 very tasty meals in Cucina ( nice to be served although buffet style no problem & attentive staff clear quickly & keep your drinks topped up!)
Overall a thoroughly relaxing , wonderful holiday in a fabulous hotel! Thank you so much Dinitra Beach!
