It was just OK.
Just returned from a very hot week in Skala at Paspalis. The major pluses for this hotel is it's location across from the beach and of course the wonderful staff. However the rooms Jet 2 get allocated are a bit of a let down. We were on the first floor in the block near reception with a side sea view and a car park. The room itself although mostly functional was small, dull and in serious need of TLC. The bathroom was similar and in dire need of updating, although the shower was powerful and we usually had hot water. Air conditioning is extra but it was effective and was most welcome in the blistering heat. Breakfast was adequate for our needs although the bacon and sausage was not to our liking. Fresh fruit, honey and yoghurt was a nice touch. We had lunch in the Taverna a couple of times which was lovely and offered good value. Although we did not eat there in the evening we did go to the sister restaurant "Baracca" next door. The food there is amongst the best we have ever had in Greece. We ate there 3 times and would advise booking as it seemed very popular. It was noticable when coming down for breakfast that the towel brigade had already been at work as most beds were taken yet unoccupied. Beach beds are €12 a set per day which seems to be the norm. Most people we spoke too were repeaters and we were advised if you want the best rooms to book direct with the owners. We had a lovely week in Skala which we have loved visiting over the years but I doubt we would return to Paspalis unless the rooms were modernised. Jet2 photos are quite misleading. Final mention to all the wonderful staff who work so hard and go the extra mile to make you feel so welcome.

On the beach 🏖️
Stayed in the economy room and it served us fine when all we needed it for was sleeping and showering . It’s the size of typical bedroom but had every we needed . Bathroom is small but manageable. Has a large private patio area with no neighbours either side and was well shaded . Some balconies seemed small and unusable as it was very hot . Breakfast was lovely, a big fruit bowl to chose from everyday - melon, banana, kiwi, pears ,apples . Yogurts, honey , croissants, cake , jams , scrambled eggs (fried or omelette available on request) , bacon , beans & frankfurter. Tables were cleared very quickly and food was well stocked . Didn’t eat there in the evenings as wanted a change of scenery . There were a few large groups there so found sunbeds were reserved from about 7.30am onwards and most gone by 9.30am . Think we were just unlucky with who was there at the same time getting up early to get their favoured beds . Great hotel if wanting a more budget friendly hotel on the beach road .

The best for relaxing
Beautiful, staff friendly with a family business feel. No doors type of hotel where you can eat gorgeous food whilst looking at the beach Rooms are comfortable. We had a family room double bed and one single bed (cot roll-away type). Safe and air conditioning are charged extra. Fridge available.
Relaxing pool, it didn't get busy but kids were not off school.
Walk over the road to the beach. Sandy, pebbles and shingle in different parts. The water is crystal clear.
Short walk into town with many bars and restaurants but we almost always ate at the hotel. Stayed B&B but the menu prices were reasonable.
Long drive from the airport but this is due to Kefalonia being very hilly for the buses to cope with. It is worth the transfer.

Perfect Paspalis
Just finished our 3rd visit to Paspalis, already booked direct with hotel for next year! I can honestly say everything was absolutely amazing. Room wonderful with great air conditioning. Room kept immaculately clean with regular linen changes. Food in pool bar was amazing, had lunch every day. Had several meals in restaurant where the food is very good. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious. Chrissie who works in pool bar is a star ⭐️. Looking forward to next year’s visit.

Greek tradition and hospitality done well
This was a short 4 day get away to round off the summer and this hotel gave us all we needed and more. Prior to arriving I’d emailed about room facilities and their response was timely and helpful. On arrival additional charges were explained… safe, AC and tax. These were reasonable considering the value of the booking. Our room (63) was in a newer block a short walk from the pool and main facilities- maybe not ideal if you were a family with children but great for a couple. We had our own roof terrace with sunbeds and a great sea view. The breakfast was lovely. Plenty of fresh fruit, pastries and gorgeous Greek yoghurt and local honey. The staff working the breakfast shift were great. Sunbeds around the pool were still available at 8:30 but chances after 9 were slim. The hotel has loads of sun beds and umbrellas on the beach immediately in front of the hotel… however these had to be paid for … at 12 euros a day for 2 beds and an umbrella it wasn’t extortionate but as a guest at the hotel it would be nice if the fee could be redeemed against food or drink at the taverna - certainly this has been the case at many beach clubs I’ve visited. The food at the taverna is delicious authentic and very generous and the staff are lovely and work incredibly hard. We were very happy with out half board arrangement. The hotel allowed you to take the meal option at lunch or in the evening which gave lots of flexibility. All considered we had a great break and would recommend to anyone looking for a simple, traditional get away with good hospitality, great location and lovely food.
