- Paspalis Hotel

This comfortable hotel can be found in Skala. There are a total of 43 units on the premises. The property includes Wi-Fi internet connection in all public areas and accomodation units. The hotel provides 24-hour reception. Cots are not available at Paspalis. A fee may be chargeable for some services.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Stayed at the hotel for a week on half board. The hotel has a fabulous location directly opposite the beach and a sort walk into Skala village. The room, pool, bar and reception areas are very clean. You have the choice to use your half board at either lunchtime or dinner time. The menu is the same. There are no snacks such as toasties available on the menu or omelettes. These are only available if you choose the a la carte menu and pay. Happy hour is from 5pm to 7pm daily but I found the cocktails to be watered down and not as good as elsewhere. Breakfast is very limited in choice so we skipped it most days. The rooms are very varied in which one you get. Unfortunately we got allocated one of the older rooms on the ground floor with a very small terrace and no window in the bathroom which meant the floor never dried out completely nor did the towels or bath mat so we hung them on the outside airer which didnt leave any room to put our beach towels or swimwear to dry. There is a kettle, cups and glasses which the maid occasionally washed after use. There was two coffee sachets, one tea bag and one milk upon arrival which never got replaced so we just bought our own. However the room was a decent size, the bed was comfy, there is a fridge and a hairdryer and the room was kept very clean. We never sat round the pool as the towel brigade got up early to bag sunbeds that said the beach is only across the road and so nice sit on and the view is lovely. Two sunbeds and an umbrella are 12 euros all day. Choose the sunbeds with mats on, much more comfortable and same price. Beach shoes are a must as the beach near and in the sea is pebbles. You can buy them at any of the shops in the village for about 8 euros.
Just back from a wonderful 10 days at Paspalis Hotel and I had a lovely stay.
Everything was very clean and comfortable. The pool area was great and never too crowded making it easy to get a sun lounger. The restaurant was open all day serving snacks, drinks, lunch and dinner. I ate there several times and the food and service was excellent.
My room was comfortable with everything that I needed and it was tidied and refreshed every day.
I am looking forward to booking again in October and would recommend this lovely hotel. ❤️
The location is excellent - just across the road to the single beach and Captain Vangelis tour boat. There are a good number of nice restaurants, shops and bars in easy walking distance, however the main "High Street" in Skala is accessible from the coast road via steps or up a short but moderately steep hill. Atmosphere - Generally the hotel had a pleasant vibe. Rooms - we found are room to be very poorly lit, dark in fact, we had room 15 which was on the ground floor practically next to the reception, and looking direct onto an access road, it was not pleasant as you had noise from the kitchens, of the Paspalis and the next door restaurant, lorries unloading from 7 am and kitchen noise into the evening, so not a pleasant place to sit and enjoy your holiday. As i said lighting was poor and the desk lamp switch disintegrated in my hand as i used it, it was extremely dangerous, the hotel offered to tape it back together and when i refused it took them two further days to supply a replacement. The room in general was clean and kept clean. We tried to change the room location, but were given the run around the hotel said it was Jet2's responsibility and Jet2 said the hotel had no availability. We later found that most if not all of the nicer rooms facing the sea where in fact booked direct and Jet2 got what was left. The hotel in general was quiet, apart from what I described above. Amenities - The pool was adequate, but people still putting towels out at silly o'clock, on the subject of pool towels, there were no pool towels, it was only later in our week that somebody said you could hire them for 3 euro, but it would have been nice to have known that at the beginning (having gone and bought some in the village). Air conditioning in room was very good, apart from the 30 euro charge on arrival (in cash) . Staff - All the staff were lovely and they tried their best. Breakfast - no some would say it was good, but I don't consider myself to be overly fussy, so i will try to be objective - Juices were no better than cordial and the apple juice was pretty shocking, cereal was heavily processed and what passed as corn flakes were pretty shocking, cakes / bread seemed to go down well, but the jam was very watery, butter was good. Yoghurt - Greek style on only honey or jam to sweeten it. Fruit plentiful, although bananas were put out nearly individually, i guess to stop people tacking for snacks, melon was served on one morning only - why. Tea Coffee - we brought our own tea bags and water was hot, the milk was cold, but you could tell its UHT, cooked food - scrambled eggs were good, beans good, bacon heavily processed but edible, sausages little frankfurter type, not for me. I did see fried eggs being served, but nobody told us you could order them, and no sign of an omelet. There were cold cheese and ham on offer, but that for me is not something i want for breakfast. Lunch - menu was ok and we had quality, price and service was extremely good. Evening meal we made alternative arrangements. So in general it was ok, the experience would have been so much better if the room had better suited our preference, but you get what you get if you book a package with Jet2, and I think this will be the last one i do with them, for this reason (unfortunately already booked another holiday with them later in the year, and i dread to think what the accommodation will be like), but after that its either direct or TUI.
Stayed 3 nights for a wedding with my two adult sons. Can’t fault anything about this hotel. We had adjacent rooms on the ground floor. They were very comfortable and had a small patio. The bed was exceptionally comfy and slept really well. The staff were wonderful, couldn’t do enough for you. Good buffet breakfast and a lovely restaurant, open to the public. Pool with plenty of sun beds. Sea and beach over the road with sun beds to hire for the day for €12. About 10 minute walk into Skala centre up a hill. Had a lovely time, would definitely recommend.
Just returned from a nine night stay and really enjoyed our holiday. Travelled with my sister on arrival greeted by Charlotte who was lovely and so helpful. We were allocated a ground floor room as my sister has breathing difficulties. The room was excellent. Had everything we needed. The breakfast was fine, good selection but what made it so nice were the staff. Everyone of them were so cheerful friendly and work so hard and so efficiently. We asked for a taxi from the staff most nights as although only a short walk my sister couldn’t manage the hill taxi is 7 euros bit expensive for such a short journey but worth it. We walked back each night. The beach was nice a bit stoned so you need shoes and getting out is a bit difficult as it’s very soft sand which your feet get stuck into but we managed it. I would highly recommend the hotel. The only negative was having to pay for air con and the safe which we have never paid anywhere we have stayed and for nine nights it was 52 euros then we had government tax of 45 euros so it adds nearly a 100 euros I believe at least they shouldn’t charge for safe or air con
