Boasting an enviable situation directly on the Paleostafida Beach, this opulent hotel is an ideal choice for all those wishing to disconnect from daily routine and enjoy impressive natural landscapes. Visitors will have the opportunity to soak up the sun at the gorgeous sandy beach surrounded by turquoise sea and swaying palm trees. This splendid establishment boasts spacious and delightfully appointed rooms where visitors may completely unwind at the end of the day. Every morning guests may enjoy a varied and hearty breakfast consisting of local produce while gazing over the mesmerizing sea. Those who wish to keep in feet may tone up at the fitness centre or have a plunge in a sparkling pool and afterwards pamper themselves at the well-equipped spa. This family-friendly establishment also features free parking for convenience of travellers arriving by car.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Overall this hotel is great however my main call out is that the rooms (we had 2 during our stay) were not rooms shown in any photos that exist online, which was a disappointment as had we known what we were getting we would have asked to either pay more, or picked a different hotel.
We had a superior sea view, and then moved to a king garden room for our last night. Both were very basic, very dated and in poor condition. The first had a tiny shower cubicle, the doors of which h leaked water and flooded the bathroom, the second room was a wet room with a shower curtain. When showering the toilet would also get soaked as the curtained area included the loo. The rooms were cleaned well, and the aircon was good but the rooms did not match the rest of the hotel.
Onto the good - the pool and restaurant areas are lovely, really comfy sunbeds with pillows, 2 large pools, drinks served to your bed, food in the restaurant was nice and the staff were lovely (particularly the breakfast staff).
Breakfast was nice with lots of options and they’ll also make you a takeaway coffee as well. Reception staff were always helpful and friendly and there is a resident dog called Simba who was adorable.
The only other negative is that on our last day we didn’t fly till late so stayed by the pool but there is no designated space to get ready, you have to wash at the pool shower and get ready in the toilet which was annoying.
Overall we had a great time but the room quality was a let down and I certainly wouldn’t have been happy if I was on a special holiday with my partner. There do appear to be renovated rooms judging by all of the booking sites, so I guess they’re the expensive ones however the photo shown when we booked was not what we got. Photos of the actual rooms we had don’t exist anywhere online so I feel missold.
Amazing experience at Thalassa. Hotel couldn’t do enough, amazing location (10 min walk from shops/restaurants), 5 mins down to the beach.
Lovely pool area which even in August wasn’t too busy, always plenty of space to sit.
Great breakfast overlooking the sea, with a great pool bar/restaurant option for lunch and dinner.
Hotel staff couldn’t do enough, and really made our trip!
Overall we had a fantastic time at this hotel, there were so many positives: the room was extremely spacious, the bed was super comfy and fresh water and towels were supplied daily, the pool area was nice with plenty of very comfortable sunbeds, the restaurant served better food than any of the restaurants we visited in the week in the town, the staff (except one) were absolutely lovely (especially Lauretta who was so helpful and always smiling) and the location of the hotel was great (walking distance to bars and restaurants and less than 10€ in a taxi into town). There were a few negatives: there were not enough umbrellas around the pool and at 36° they were definitely required, the only steps into the pool were 'ladder' steps which weren't ideal and finally, one of the female staff on reception wasn't pleasant at all, on two occasions she was abrupt and totally unhelpful. That said I've still scored this hotel 5/5 because it was, despite minor issues, a fantastic hotel and we would 100% return.
We had an excellent stay here for 7 nights. The hotel is lovely, all the staff are really friendly, and help you with any queries you might have. The pool area is great and nice and quiet. We also heard no noise coming from the other hotel being built.
I was a bit concerned as we drove to the hotel as to how far we’d be from the main road but it’s only 6 minutes to the main ‘strip’. There is a large supermarket and plenty of bars and restaurants.
The room was nice and spacious (partial sea view) and it was a great choice as our room was directly opposite the pool. Although its ’partial’ view, it was still a very decent view!
More than enough sunbeds to go around, no matter what time of day.
Excellent breakfast choices and fantastic service.
Happy hour starts at 4 and they do ‘sunbed service’ which was great!
Lunch in the restaurant is excellent and we ate here most days. Nice choices and really reasonably priced. We also ate here on our first evening and it was one of the best meals we had! Highly recommend!
The local beach is small but really nice and only a few minutes walk away.
The only things I would say to be picky are the balconies could do with a bit of TLC, and maybe some more shaded areas around the pool as the beds and umbrellas are fixed it’s hard to get decent shade - you need to bed hop a bit.
Beautiful hotel in good position, about 10 mins walk to restaurants and bars and 5 mins to nearest beach which is small but nice beach bar and reasonably priced beds €20. Sun beds around pool so comfy, lots of lounging sofas and there’s swing chairs too, no rush for beds, always some available. Pool lovely but do wonder when it’s cleaned as never saw any evidence of this, having said that it seemed clean around pool area all the time. Towels provided on beds, no need to ask. Happy hour cocktails at pool bar/ restaurant €8 4-6pm. Food at restaurant amazing.
Rooms big and we had a terrace and great view of front garden and sea. They are building another hotel right in front of Thalassa on the beach, we were not bothered by noise (there wasnt any) and looks like it’s going to be a nice place next year. Shower great, always warm and powerful. Rooms cleaned well every day and new towels. Only feedback I would give is that there were 3 wardrobes but no hanging space long enough for my husband’s shirts or my skirts and dresses, so we had to hang everything on the doors and sides of the wardrobes. Also toiletries provided nice enough but all in little bottles, we were given 2 little bottles of water every day too. Again nice but I really think the hotel could do more sustainability wise to cut down on plastic and encourage reuse of towels. Provide water fountains maybe.
Breakfast lovely and staff everywhere so friendly and helpful, it was a total pleasure staying here. It was our wedding anniversary too and we got a surprise message and wine and fruit on arrival which was soooo appreciated and kind. Can’t really fault this hotel, fantastic stay!
