We booked a week and paid in advance. Due to a medical emergency we were forced to delay our trip by only two days. We acquired a letter from the Dr which we used to rebook our flight on KLM with no penalties, but the hotel refused to budge. I said I understand the non refundable policy and I’m happy to pay for the first two nights we missed, but there are five more nights we’ve already paid for! They said nope, the entire reservation is canceled, but, feel free to come see us when you arrive and we’ll book you another room! I politely told them it’d be a cold day in…before they saw or heard from me again. We got the last laugh by finding a stunning private Airbnb with panoramic views, a private infinity pool (see photos) and an amazing staff. Our trip was spectacular but the hotel guys were ridiculous.
Excellent location, right on the sea front, very helpful and polite staff. We had a sea view room which was certainly pleasant enough, nice and cool with air conditioning. Bed sheets and towels changed daily. Bathroom isn’t huge but perfectly serviceable and clean. Breakfast is a decent buffet with the usual suspects. Can order omlets, scrambled eggs, pancakes etc at no extra charge. Evening meals were lovely, dedicated staff and we tried most things on the menu and all were very tasty indeed!
Would recommend hotel for sure. Very central location.
We spent two nights here in early May- after picking up a hire car at the airport it took 20 minutes to drive to the hotel. There is no dedicated parking, but we easily found a space on the street opposite, and despite arriving early at 2pm were able to check into our room.
Our room was on the first floor, and can be reached by stairs or a lift. It was compact in size, but also had a balcony with two chairs and a table. There was a comfortable double bed, and a good amount of clothes storage space. The room also had a TV with a range of local channels, a good-size fridge, and a safe which we couldn't work how out to use so left empty during our stay. Disappointingly there were no tea and coffee making facilities provided, which in our experience is unusual in a Greek hotel.
The bathroom was again quite compact but offered adequate storage space. It had a good quality shower, and a nice range of branded shampoo, conditioner and shower gel was provided. As our room was located opposite the entrance to the lift we did hear quite a bit of noise during the night as other guest used it, and could also hear TVs from other rooms, making us think the walls were quite thin.
We had breakfast each morning in the hotel restaurant and were generally impressed. There was a buffet provided with a wide range of cereals, fruit, meats and cheese provided. Hot items such as omelette and scrambled egg can also be ordered from the waiting staff, though on our first morning this was not explained to us, and eventually worked out the system and asked for a menu. Coffee and orange juice was also provided to the table, though again we had to ask rather than be offered this.
The hotel is located in the centre of town, and overlooks the Gulf of Argostoli. Close by there are a good range of bakeries, bars and restaurants, as well as an AB supermarket. The Lithostroto pedestriansed area is a few minutes walk away, and this contains a good range of shops. There is also a good road network from Argostoli, and we easily visited a number of different parts of the island during our stay.
Overall we enjoyed our stay- there were a few niggles, but for a long weekend it was a useful base for our trip to Kefalonia.
I’m a lady sole traveller and decided to try this hotel after reading the reviews. I certainly wasn’t disappointed. Being on a budget, I stayed in a side room that had a little balcony but could see the harbour. What I really appreciated being on my own, was the genuine warmth and care of the staff. Georgia, on reception, was always there in the evening to make sure I’d had a good day and did I need anything. As were the day receptionists. The breakfast waiters were wonderful and the same at night. I ate at the hotel 4 times that week and the choice and food were excellent and reasonably priced. I felt safe and secure and would highly recommend it and look forward to returning. Perfectly situated for everything. The website photos are exactly how it is.
Absolutely wonderful. All the staff were amazing...
