Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I chose this location based on access to the excursions I had planned and turned out to be an excellent spot for pickups and drop-offs.
I was really pleased with the Room (4-1) as it was on the top level and very BIG for two people. Location is excellence as café’s and shopping is right out in front. The staff was very warm and accommodating and checking in and out was a breeze.
For the location, value and overall cost; this is an excellent hotel to stay in as you will not be disappointed – They have a wonderful breakfast laid out in the morning, buffet style, and you can choose to eat in or out.
Stay here!
Located in the Ladadika district Diamond Suites offers a walking distance to many city attractions in Thessaloniki. Especially to many restaurants and bars. Room was excellent. Huge bathroom. But breakfast needs improvement considering the price. A bit overpriced for my opinion.
The Diamond Suites hotel in Thessaloniki stands out for its favorable qualities, including its central location, exceptional breakfast experience, and attentive staff.
Located in the heart of the city, the hotel offers convenient access to major attractions, making it an ideal choice for those looking to explore Thessaloniki effortlessly.
One notable aspect is the hotel's exceptional breakfast. Guests can enjoy a diverse and delectable selection that highlights the richness of Greek gastronomy, enhancing the overall enjoyment of their stay.
The staff plays a crucial role in creating a positive atmosphere. With their attentiveness and friendliness, they contribute to a welcoming and comfortable ambiance, ensuring a personalized and positive experience for guests.
In summary, the Diamond Suites hotel is recommended for its central location, outstanding breakfast experience, and the attentive service of its staff, providing a great option for those seeking a positive and memorable stay in Thessaloniki.
This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had, staying in a "luxury" place. By the way, the picture shown is not relevant to the building. There is no reception, you enter through an apartment building door and there are steps to the elevator making it necessary to haul suitcases one set of stairs to the elevator.
The reason I chose the place was because of the location, which is close to the bustling center of Salonika. I also liked the fact that the rooms appeared to be large in the descriptions. Finally, the promise of luxury.
Only two of these proved to be true. The location was good, however in a dingy part of the city next to the harbor. The room was large, however it was the pretend luxury and the low quality of the surroundings that made the experience not enjoyable. Dark industrial space, painted black to cover dirt and tired looking with jail-like windows that ahd to stay covered due to the tavern across the street. No plugs to recharge anything without unhooking appliances. Makeshift bench by putting a loose wood plank on top of cubes. Kitsch velvet wall above the bed, broken hardware in the bathroom ....
and THE worst: insects (not ants) crawling all over my towels and I suspect the bathroom sink! Good thing I discovered the morning after as I would have left running into the night.
OBSERVATIONS: The property does not have a dedicated Reception Desk on-site. Check-in (and breakfast, if purchased) is handled across the street at the Plaza Hotel. There are a few stairs to climb (approx. 5-8?) before you get to the small elevator As of August 2025, there is [still] an unfinished [unappealing] building across the street. However, no on-going construction was observed. The 'Sky View' windows are somewhat opaque or clotted with dirt (dusty, understandably). In addition, in the summer, you'll need to keep the Sky View shades (and all others) drawn/extended to avoid overheating the room, anyway.
PROS: Our Suite was just as pictured on the website, spacious, well-appointed, with a jet tub and lots of relaxing room. There are MANY restaurants within a 1–5-minute walk from the Hotel.
CONS: The biggest problem is the area NOISE! There are several Night Clubs in the area, but most notable (notoriously for its noise) is 'NAOMI' ... it, apparently, has a license for an OUTDOOR ROOFTOP DANCE/MUSIC AREA (one block away from the Diamond Suites/Plaza Hotels). The Club’s posted hours are 2200-0600+ [sic]... that means that just as you might be ready to sleep, the Club STARTS UP with OUTDOOR Trance/Disco/Euro/Throb music at 120+bpm ... ALL NIGHT LONG and INTO THE MORNING!
So, unfortunately, we got NO SOUND SLEEP for the 4-5 nights we were at the Diamond Suites. Our (Emerald) Suite has [effectively TWO floors of] floor-to-ceiling windows. They do NOTHING to stop the Clubs music (neither did our earplugs), the music penetrates and fills the room with its throbbing, thumping, heart-jolting rhythmic pulses ... ALL NIGHT LONG and INTO THE MORNING!
CONCLUSION: If the local establishments and/or property owners band together, perhaps they could get some LIMITATIONS on the Club's invasive behaviour. If not, it's likely more submitted reviews will discourage staying in the area. Despite the lovely accommodation, I cannot in any good conscience recommend a stay here (or at ANY hotel within a 0.5km radius of the aforementioned Night Club) ... UNLESS you're prepared to party all night long.
