Sani Dunes

My wife and I are long-time fans of Sani Dunes. This hotel, like the entire infrastructure of the Sani resort complex, is worth every euro spent here. Yes, it's not cheap, but it's fair: a gorgeous complex, an ideal location in a nature reserve, well-trained and friendly staff everywhere, perfect cleanliness, beautiful park design, atmosphere and quality cuisine in almost every restaurant. The Suny Dunes Hotel has even more advantages compared to the already ideal complex. Great rooms and perfect service wherever you go: restaurants, reception, spa complex, gym. Landscape design on the territory is particularly admired. It's scary to imagine how much and what it costs to maintain such a beautiful territory. And of course, the main diamonds of this place are its employees! The first is the main manager of the hotel, who magically knows each guest personally. This is our personal manager, Mariopi, who, in an incomprehensible way, easily and naturally solves all guest requests quickly and efficiently. She does it before you think you need to. This is the entire staff of the Market restaurant, who warns your every wish. These are the friendly and sincere smiles of every employee we encountered at the hotel. This is the massage master Anna at the hotel's spa, a towering professional in her field and a true hidden jewel in the crown of this luxury resort. We are sincerely grateful to every employee we have encountered. We have not had a single comment or negative impression about the quality of the services provided. This year's trip to Sani was a bit different for us, we stayed at Sani Dunes again (which was better than excellent as always) but joined the rest of the family who were based at Porto Sani, and I have to say, Porto Sani is spot on for anyone travelling with young children. Between the splash pool for the little ones, deeper pools for the older kids, and a beach with the clearest, warmest sea, there was something for every age group. Our granddaughter had an absolute ball cycling around the resort. The small touches make a big difference with kids in tow, afternoon ice creams, kids menus and when we needed emergency supplies (as you always do with young children), the supermarket had us covered. When our families luggage was delayed Sani contacted the airport and when it was located (on the next flight) had it delivered to the room without any fuss at all. Top service. The babysitters were lovely, which meant the grown-ups actually got to enjoy a few worry free evenings out. Over on the Dunes side, it was the usual very high standard we've come to expect after so many years of returning. Mr Nikos and his team looked after us good as ever, brilliant food in every restaurant we ate in and the sort of easy, unhurried atmosphere that makes you forget you ever need to leave. And in fact we didn't, we decided to stay an extra few days! If I had one small suggestion, it would be a shade sail over the playground, it gets seriously hot out there, and perhaps a water station nearby for the kids. Three generations, one holiday, and every single one of us had a brilliant time. We'll definitely be back.

We're now well into our second decade of Sani holidays and this trip reminded us exactly why we keep coming back. From the moment we arrived, it felt like coming home to somewhere that genuinely knows how to look after you. Mr Nikos remains the heart of Sani Dunes, nothing is ever too much trouble, and he has a way of making you feel like the most important guests in the hotel, even though he clearly does this for everyone. Andreea matches him step for step in her warmth and professionalism as does Panagiotis. It was also lovely to catch up with Mr Sakis again, always so efficient, always so charming, seeing him is like seeing an old friend. Down on the beach (always a bed) Klinsman, Sona and the team make every day by the sea effortless. In the gym, Alex the PT put us through a proper workout, while Anna in the spa continues to deliver wonderful treatments that are second to none. Our holiday days got off to the best possible start with a yoga sessions with Elena or an early run around the resort. The food, as ever, was a highlight throughout our stay. Dinners at Ergon (we went twice), Macoroni, Ouzerie and Asian restaurants were all superb, and we also had excellent meals at Lima, Market, Vosporos and Pines. Lunch at the Beach House is non-negotiable for us, Vagellis is always so hospitable, as are his colleagues. For a truly stunning setting, Bouslalous is the place to be for a lazy lunch. Our days often ended with a swim in the stunning Dunes pool and then sundowners and great conversation with Jergen at the poolside bar. Thank you Sani for once again giving us exactly what a holiday should be. We came home with full hearts and full batteries, already looking forward to next time.
