Akrathos Beach Hotel

We stayed at the hotel from 29 September to 9 October and were absolutely delighted with our choice. We had a wonderful stay and would like to thank the entire team for making our holiday so enjoyable.

First of all, the cleanliness deserves special mention. The whole hotel, from the rooms to the beach, was spotless and very well maintained. The windows were clean, the towels and bed linen were fresh, and there was not a trace of mould in the shower. We are quite particular about cleanliness, but not once did we feel uncomfortable touching or using anything. The same high standards applied to the entire hotel grounds and the beach.

Everything is beautifully maintained and tastefully designed, without unnecessary decoration or visual clutter. The layout is very well planned, with the restaurant, pool, beach and tennis court arranged so that each area feels separate and peaceful. You can relax without being disturbed by noise or activity from other parts of the hotel.

The staff are friendly, attentive and quick to help, always with a smile and without being intrusive. Even on the beach, empty glasses are cleared promptly. The service was simply excellent! And this was at the very end of the season, when there may be fewer staff than during the summer months — at least that is our assumption based on many years of staying at hotels.

The food was another highlight. The selection was varied, fresh and light, without the heavy or greasy feeling that hotel food can sometimes have. Many thanks to the chef for preparing such delicious dishes that feel homemade but are also refined. There was a great choice of meat, poultry, seafood, vegetables and desserts. As we prefer lighter food, we were especially happy with the quality and taste of everything. Of course, there were also familiar favourites such as French fries and pizza, as well as traditional Greek pies, so everyone could find something they liked.

We would also like to give special recognition to Eduardo, the hotel manager. Every day, he personally approaches guests to ask whether everything is going well and whether there is anything he can do to help. This was very useful to us on several occasions, both with practical matters and with more personal requests. His approach is warm and genuine, never intrusive, and you can really feel that he cares about his guests and wants to make their stay even better.

Another thing that truly impressed us was Eduardo’s ability to speak so many languages. Our family communicates in Russian, English and German, and my husband also speaks Serbian. Eduardo managed to have a conversation with each member of our family in their native language. We found this amazing, thoughtful and truly worthy of respect. It made us feel especially welcome and showed how much he values personal communication with his guests.

We also enjoyed playing tennis and billiards, and we rented a boat for the day and a paddleboard from the beach station. I imagine that the hotel offers even more sports and fitness activities during the high season, such as yoga and aerobics. Since we visited at the very end of the season, we only experienced the morning exercise sessions, which was still a lovely addition.

Overall, we are extremely happy with our stay and very glad we chose this hotel. A big thank-you to every member of the team who puts so much effort into doing their job well. It really shows in the little details and makes a big difference to the guest experience.

Arrived at the Hotel in late September for a 10 day stay. First impressions were very good, hotel reception was professional and helpful. We were escorted to our room via a buggy. Room was adequate for 2 adults and the walk shower was a god send after a horrendous airport transfer, ( 4hrs ) Note this is not the Hotels fault. The transfer was supposed to have taken 2hrs but we were left at a. carpark awaiting for the second coach. The travel agent never told us we had to change coaches. The Hotel sits in its own grounds which are well light at night, there is one incline which can be avoided if you take a slightly longer walks , we were stopping in room 429. The Hotel operates a buffet style food menu which can be exchanged for Al a Carte if booked. The buffet is what one would expect from any buffet, warm and plentiful, staff extremely helpful. The drinks on the all inclusive menu are reasonable but someone needs to explain to the staff how to make cocktails. Orange juice is not cordial squash, and you can only order drinks from the ALL INCLUSIVE COUNTER. The pool bar is small but adequate, once again you can only order drinks from the ALL INCLUSIVE SIDE of the bar, went to the wrong side once and was told in no uncertain terms that we had to walk to the other side to order.( Look for the neon sign hidden away under the bar. The beach bar operates on the same lines. When we woke the following morning we had a wonderful view of the Agean sea, which was beautiful and was not expected. Entertainment was limited (2 nights) I suppose this was because of the late season we were there..Then again if you want a relaxing break away form the hassle and noise of some of the larger Hotels this will suit you. The Hotel runs a shuttle bus to the nearby village (10 euros), leaves at 10am and returns at 13:00hrs. Worth a visit as there is nothing outside the Hotel apart from a coarse sand beach, which involves a steep climb if the Hotel buggy in not available. The one thing I must mention is that this a Hotel for relaxation and not going overboard. All in all I would recommend this Hotel for a good relaxing break, if you like to sit around the pool reading a book or just soaking up the sun.
