Excellent hotel! Delicious and varied food, friendly staff, clean rooms with daily towel changes. Great pool and the beach is very close. Highly recommended!
I visited in July xenios dolphin beach for our family vacations. The experience was great, the head chef always welcoming us on the area of the restaurant and the food was tasty with all of choices in every meal, the stuff was smillie and very kindly, specially the two guys on the bar were happily and helpful and give us cooling drinks. Last the lactation of the hotel is front of the sea in a peaceful place.
It was my second time for me and my family that we visited xenios dolphin beach. We spented a very nice week as my first time the food was tasteful and big variety in every meal, the head chef was always in the restaurant helping us on everything. The staff was very friendly and helpful and everyoone make us to feel the greek hospitality.
Just got back from 1 week's all inclusive trip to Xenios. The resort was lovely and staff especially the owner were very helpful and hospitable. Our return flight was later in the evening so we would have had to wait around 4/5 hours as check out was 12.00 as it normally is but we were allowed to have a lunch and vacate our room a little bit later, which was great seeing as we had 3 children with us.🙂 The area is very calm and safe and i would recommend it as a base into the busy parts of the 'Finger'. The food even if it's not my kind of taste was fresh and of a good variety , the staff were very helpful and allways had a smile on there faces.
Stayed at this hotel for a short break To start off with the positives of this hotel …
1 ….it’s right on the beach and set in a lovely quiet area …only a couple of restaurants around and 2 shops one tourist bits and one food bits
2… We walked to the Poseidon Cape which was about 45 minutes walk …beautiful sea colours …one side very very choppy wouldn’t advise swimming but lovely scenery
3…. Hotel itself leaves a lot to the imagination …very basic …yes I know some of Greece is basic but in our room the shower and toilet were so close on top of each other …when you used toilet your feet were practically in shower and your pushed up wall by toilet … the shower rail was held up with a piece of fishing wire screwed to ceiling and the shower curtain was about 10” into the shower unit …you couldn’t close /open shower curtain due to the wire holding up bar …there was no hook for shower hose to connect on to (shower connected to taps) So you had to hold shower up over your body to shower whilst getting stuck to the shower curtain …!!!
There are only 2 plug sockets in room so we were constantly swapping phones etc to be charged
The beds were not made …sheets and blankets were left folded up on bottom of bed …
Rooms feel very dark due to the fact there is 2 sets of doors /sliding doors and shutters and thick curtains over doors and no windows …frosted glass on small window at back of apartment
4…We stayed “All inclusive “ … we arrived at 2.45pm after travelling all day and night and thought we’d pop and have a snack …but no there’s no snacks in between meals
All inclusive consists of Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Drinks are very limited …choice of coffee Beer lemonade coke Brandy and 3 cocktails which never tasted the same depends on who makes them …coke and lemonade are just soda water with colouring no real taste to it ….
5… Food …now I am by no means fussy on food but I am a vegetarian…had to ask numerous times if foods had meat in it ( as not always visible what was in food) it was followed by I don’t know I’ll check but no one ever came out to advise …!!!
The food most of it I would say was very wet stewy/casserole type of foods with stewed vegetables onions and salads
There were lots of salads tomatoes cucumber cheeses etc but a lot of the mixed salads always seemed to be very wet drippy sloppy in texture either with dressings or liquids
The nicest thing I ate were the stuffed vine leaves olives and cheeses
The first morning there was English cooked brekkie after that it was scrambled eggs the consistency of cous cous then the next day the scrambled eggs would be dyed red with tomato sauce …
Puddings /desserts on a night time would run out quickly and the only fruits were apples etc
Considering the fruit vendors were outside the hotel constantly you’d think hotel would buy some of their fresh lovely local fruit …
6 …We were told that not a lot of English visit the hotel and we only spoke to one other couple who were travelling the Halkidiki coast and said that the majority of visitors to area were Eastern Europeans
7… We went out to a local fish restaurant not sure of name but it was the pretty blue and white tables etc one at far end of beach … the food was absolutely amazing … starters x 2 plus swordfish and calamari main meals fries and garlic bread and tzatziki which were all to die for 62€ which we thought was amazing value as we also had a breakfast out English brekkie and eggs Benedict minus ham and 2 smoothies…which came to 35€…!!!
On the whole the area is beautiful with lovely beach walks and sunsets …
8…I wouldn’t stay all inclusive at this hotel but your food options would be limited in the area if you stayed for 2 weeks as there’s not many restaurants around …I’m basing this on not having a car
The holiday was a nice break apart from the 3 hour return journey back to airport as you have to change buses there and back …it only took just over an hour in the way there … we left at 7.15am and flight was at 12.40pm
Nothing to do with hotel but getting into Thessaloniki Airport took nearly 2 hours queueing outside and dropping bags off and was so rushed through passport control and no time for duty free shopping as we had to go straight on plane …this was due to 4 Tui flights going out to different UK airports within an hour ….
