This charming beach hotel is situated at the end of an 11-kilometre long beach, which stretches to the historical town of Rethymnon. The area is rich in attractions and places of interest like the St.Nikolas Church, or the famous mountain caves nearby. Whether they have spent the day lazing at the beach or exploring the region, guests are sure to find peace and relaxation in the cool air-conditioned rooms, complete with large balconies with sea or garden views. The hotel is especially popular among those travelling with children as the outdoor area has a kids' swimming pool, a kids' club and a games room. In addition to delicious meals, the restaurant offers also Greek evenings, disco nights and various entertainment programmes.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The hotel was a lovely quiet family run hotel. The rooms were basic but lovely and clean with good air conditioning, fridge and hairdryer. The staff were amazing, helpful and friendly. The food and drink were both good and even though there was one night of entertainment which was Traditional music and dancing. Everyone was invited to join in, so brought all ages and nationalities together. It is a perfect place for a peaceful holiday good swimming pool , right on the sea front and beautiful sunset every night. There are tours available to see the island which we went on and it was lovely to return to a homely peaceful hotel with all the amenities you could need. Will definitely be visiting again.
It was really nice. Nice air con. Nice facilities. Great food. And lovely pool
This hotel is a hidden gem. It’s a fabulous small hotel with fantastic friendly staff who can’t do enough for you. They all work incredibly hard to make sure your holiday is special. Other stand outs are: No dawn rush for sun loungers or towel holding for hours…people actually just act responsibly Lovely fresh food - always tasty. Maybe not a huge choice but it’s a small hotel so catering reflects this. Enough variety from day to day to keep us happy No evening entertainment except for the Thursday Greek night which is spectacular- bonus for us as it meant lovely quiet evenings to enjoy a drink and good company and no hassling to join in or loud music. Sunsets to take your breath away. Views are unbelievable too. The whole hotel is spotless from top to bottom and staff are on point with clearing tables in the restaurant. The hotel shop isn’t stupidly expensive and has everything you need, including stamps, bus tickets and souvenirs. Range of drinks is great - we weren’t a fan of the house wines but other people liked them (although the hotel does need to invest in some wine glasses as it’s served in tumblers) but all their cocktails were lovely and definitely not watered down. Although there is work being done on the harbour nearby, it really didn’t impact on our enjoyment. In a nutshell, if you want a quiet relaxing holiday this hotel is for you! I went with my grown up daughter and we both loved it and are determined to return.
First of all I would like to say we booked this hotel mainly on the reviews from trip advisor which didn't reflect our experience in any way.
The Good, We do a lot of holidays and have to say the staff were the best we have ever met,a credit to the hotel, special thanks to Hunter and Martina in the bar.
The pool area is beautifully done, very high end sun loungers and umbrellas and kept reasonably clean.
The Bad, No designated smoking areas, people just smoked everywhere, not great when you don't smoke. We never ate our meals outside because there's like a sewage smell, very off putting.
We struggled with the food, definitely not 4 star, juice machine and coffee machine were very weak and felt watered down. The soup which was only at dinner was disappointing, again watered down to have zero taste. The meat dishes mostly had no labels and of a very low standard We were very disappointed with the food.
The Ugly, Room was basic but clean, the bathroom on the other hand was the worst we have ever experienced going on holiday, totally outdated, you had to hold the shower with one hand and try not to stand on the drain which filled up the bath if you did and then you had to call reception to fix, Stopper in sink also broken and a toilet seat that you have to hold up to use, totally different to what's advertised in their photos.
The surrounding areas of the hotel were filthy dirty, just rubbish everywhere, very off putting. The local beach also filthy, not sure what the €70 tourist tax went towards.
In summary Fantastic staff, nice modern hotel let down by outdated rooms and bad food. Very quiet area with little to do. Filthy beaches, Don't understand why so many great reviews, funny how most, it was their first review, very strange.
I could not fault the hotel! All staff were very helpful and accommodating. There is a shop on site that sells everything you could need. The buffet food is good quality and everything is well cooked, however there is not much variety and most dishes are meat or fish in a tomatoey sauce. On some nights we found it difficult to find things to suit our tastes (however we probably just have a boring english palette , and if you are more adventurous this may suit you better.) There is a variety of drinks available from 10:30am-10pm from the bar, bar staff lovely and drinks all very nice. Pool are is lovely and sunbeds were always available (no sunbed wars!). The only downside to this hotel is probably the location. There is only 1 restaurant and 1 small shop in close proximity, beach is okay. If you want to have a day out i would recommend Rhythmeno which is 20 ish minutes away (2.20 on the bus, or 25 in a taxi). If we came again we would probably hire a car to see more of the island. We really enjoyed our time here and did a boat trip and a bus tour, aswell as nice restaurants and shops. Rooms were all nice and clean and with lovely views.
