This charming beach hotel is situated at the end of an 11-kilometre long beach, which stretches to the historical town of Rethymnon. The area is rich in attractions and places of interest like the St.Nikolas Church, or the famous mountain caves nearby. Whether they have spent the day lazing at the beach or exploring the region, guests are sure to find peace and relaxation in the cool air-conditioned rooms, complete with large balconies with sea or garden views. The hotel is especially popular among those travelling with children as the outdoor area has a kids' swimming pool, a kids' club and a games room. In addition to delicious meals, the restaurant offers also Greek evenings, disco nights and various entertainment programmes.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We have just spent a lovely week here at Begeti Bay. Lovely clean room, spacious balcony with a beautiful view of all of the fruit trees and evening sun. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful and made us feel really welcome. We enjoyed the facilities including playing in the tennis court, swimming in the pool and sun bathing (we never struggled to get a sunbed at any point during the day). An amazing view of the sunset each night. Entertainment is on three nights a week, we particularly enjoyed the Greek night. Food was varied each day, something for everyone...the salads and roasted vegetables were a favourite of ours. The location is in at the end of a quiet beach in Skaleta. We had a nice stroll and had food in the local Taverna which we would also recommend. There is a shop in the hotel, includes drinks, snacks, cigarettes, souvenirs etc. You can also buy a bus ticket here and take the bus to Rethymno, we visited the old town and it was just beautiful, lots of little shops and bars. We also went to the beach in Rethymno and that is a lot bigger but there was a charge for a sun bed (25 euros for 2). During our stay we also did two excursions-an all day boat trip from the Rethymno port and a water park in Chania (definitely recommend). Overall we had a lovely stay, thank you for having us🩷
Had a nice relaxing holiday,
Plane was delay and arrived early morning, was welcomed, given some food and drink, told not to worry about checking in given key and said to sort out in morning when awake, which was nice and no hassle.
Pros - nice quiet location, no hassle, hotel was clean and staff very friendly, as with all inclusive the food was made for the masses, it was a very good standard and always plenty of choices available with nice seating area outside . No rush to claim a sun bed as plenty available. Its location is at the end of the beach, so a little remote, with one local restaurant and a little shop within walking distance. The views are amazing, you can watch the sun set over the sea every night with a glass in your hand. Buses into town cost 2.20€ one way and are frequent, so worth a visit, if you staying longer than a week a hire car would be a good option to see more.
Cons - due to the remoteness it may not be everyone’s choice. The beach opposite was the worst part, even though it looks beautiful. The sea is very rocky and is almost impossible to to walk out, even with shoes on, in the end it’s easier to walk half a mile down the road to a sandy section and hire out a sun bed there for 10€ a pair, To the right of the hotel there is some sort of working stone/rock harbour, this creates noise and dust during the day and is a little unsightly.. Entertainment wise there is a Greek night on Thursdays, other than that it’s just a little music in the background. Also as with most holidays abroad you do get the odd whiff of poo every now and then !
Everything was great, we have no complaints at all. We really enjoyed our experience and would definitely come back again!
Really nice hotel in a lovely setting, and the fact that it’s right on the beach is a big plus. The beach is lovely and you can watch some beautiful sunsets in the evening. Its quite a distance from the main bars and restaurants. However, there is a bus stop about a 5-minute walk from the hotel, which gets you into town for just €2.20. The journey takes around 20 minutes, so it’s a really easy and inexpensive option. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the hotel, especially if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful right by the beach.
Begeti bay is a lovely location with scenic views of the ocean and far off mountains providing a spectacular red sunset view. Food was amazing with dinner being different everyday with options for picky eaters. All the staff are wonderful and so friendly, while being so helpful at any opportunity. With options of relaxing at the Pool or walking down the coast to beaches where you can hire sun-beds. Staff also provided methods of reaching the nearest city full of shops and restaurants.
Would stay again
