This is a lovely hotel, main areas kept clean and maintained. Fresh lemon juice and cold face cloth on arrival. Room: Nice big bed, luckily had a room with a sort of sea view if you leant over the side of balcony. Prosecco in room with dried fruits. Seperate shower and toilet. It had a daily clean but not thoroughly, the underside of our white slippers were black after only a few days and we only wore our slippers in the room, so I think the mop heads might need a change or water needs changing more often. Fresh bottled water left daily, Raiki left as a souvenir on our last day. Staff: Are very attentive, I'd like to give Argyro a special mention, she was great at her job. Staff removed plates straight away from tables, always helpful and attentive with every aspect. Food: we went HB so breakfast & evening meal or you had the option to swap to have lunch instead, but had to let them know. I unfortunately was not that impressed with the food hence the 4/5 rating, for me, the food let the hotel down. Breakfast was luke warm as the lids to warmers were always left open. Although a lot of choice on offer for evening buffet I ended up eating salad and fruit mainly as the options just weren't to my taste. There is an option of a' la carte which rotated after 7 days, after 2 weeks it got quite "samey" so we opted to swap our meal to lunch time and went out to eat, lunches were nicer as they were cooked fresh to order, so came out hot. Pool/ pool arwa: Well maintained (apart from the steps which are loose) area cleaned daily, water checked daily. Out only real bugbear was that Minos (sister hotel) could come and use the beds/ pool at the ambassador, most mornings beds were already taken by them and towels left out all day on the beds even when they left for hours on end, main hotel guests were unable to find a bed. Staff clearly unwilling to take towels or belongings away so main guests could use them. We unfortunately ended up having to get up earlyy just to ensure we could secure 2 beds ourselves. "You'll see them, they have the yellow towels" Minos ambassador ones are orange. It does get frustrating, as guests pay more for this hotel yet the sister "cheaper hotel can use all facilities" Inside pool: Freezing. Gym: Small Holistic therapists: One in particular was very annoying, came to poolside 3 times on one day to try to get people sign up for massages, of which you had to pay for there and then, which I think is also wrong, surely a deposit would suffice.
Just had a lovely holiday at Minos Ambassador in Rethynmo. Great location, great hotel, lovely spacious and clean rooms, superb food and wonderful staff. Highly recommend.
We had an amazing one-week stay at Minos Ambassadors. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, the staff provided impeccable service and made us feel genuinely welcome. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and always willing to help.
The hotel was spotless throughout our stay, with beautifully maintained rooms and common areas. The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety and excellent quality at every meal.
We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and would highly recommend Minos Ambassadors to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable holiday. We would be delighted to return in the future!
Wonderful pool, food and lovely staff
We had a wonderful week at the Minos Ambassador. If you arrive by coach, it drops you off at the sister Hotel next door because it cannot manoeuvre in the small steep, narrow road by the Minos Ambassador itself . There is a reception and main entrance but we struggled to find it, we were tired after out flight and transfer time. We were initially confused by this and ended up in reception at the sister hotel. Staff were very good in sorting this out and you can walk across a link footbridge to the correct hotel. A bit more direction would be good. Upon leaving , we met another couple arriving with the same issue so we were able to direct them.
We were made to feel so welcome, greeted politely from start to finish on this holiday. Given a tour of the hotel and a glass of cloudy lemonade upon arrival
We felt an immediate calmness, everywhere so clean and fresh smelling. Studio room was spacious, robes, slippers, toiletries , coffee pod machine and a bottle of prosecco upon arrival. We liked the fresh water bottles put in fridge for us each day. Nice touch. There is a separate toilet from the huge wet room rain shower.
Beds and pillows so comfortable, our room turned down in evenings and fresh towels offered. Boho chic furniture and fittings, sea grass wardrobe front doors. You will relax here . Staff are so attentive, polite and go about their business professionally but equally friendly. We engaged a lot with Argyro in the restaurant. It's obvious that she has so much hospitality and customer service experience, a lovely calm and engaging lady. The pool and restaurant terrace area is well laid out. Quality and comfortable loungers, beds, egg chairs ,sofas in sun or shade. We liked the addition of the camouflage netting which gave partial shade. Fine views across to beach and old town. The opening time of the pool is 10am and there are plenty of sunloungers .Despite this we witnessed a couple putting out their towels very very early on the same sunbeds each morning. Everyone else obeyed the rules. We also saw them returning back from somewhere and their towels had been left on the same beds. Breakfast and evening meals were plentiful with good choices. We liked the balance of buffet and food cooked to order by chef. Eggs are cooked to order at breakfast as is main element of evening meal. Music plays via by the pool but not loud, more like faint in background, we were able to read our books and concentrate. Most evenings offered live musicians piano , violin, soft vocals cello. The location of the hotel is one street back from the promenade which suited us as it was away from the loud traffic and tourists. Within 10-15 mins you can walk into the old town . It's a pleasant walk . Rethmmno has something for everyone We used the spa pool and had a back massage. Stella was a brilliant masseur who understood muscle anatomy and using her full bodyweight to give us the massage that we wanted and needed. The lovely beach is across the road with a range of sunbeds at different prices Echfaristo..thanks for our lovely week away
