The beach hotel is located along the promenade in the eastern part of Rethymnon town. This city hotel is decorated in a modern style and offers a pleasant ambience, ideal for young people and couples. Guests are offered 77 rooms in total and welcomed in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services and a hotel safe. Further facilities include a restaurant, WLAN Internet access and a car park. All studios and apartments are spacious and decorated in a modern style with very bright colours. Most of the rooms have a private balcony or terrace with direct sea views. All rooms are equipped with satellite TV and a private bathroom with a shower. All these facilities are offered free of charge.

Overall ok
Thank you to Sophia in reception for her kindness and helpfulness. Staff members in the beach bar were so kind and hardworking, and the same applies to some of the staff members in the restaurant. Thank you all. The room was clean and comfortable. We booked a room with a pool view, but it was actually a church. If one stood at the balcony and looked to their left, they could see the pool. So I am not sure that "pool view" was a totally accurate description. There was also a small room with a TV and sofa with no natural light- not nice at all. Breakfast was ok, and the food in the beach bar was good. Dinner was very disappointing. The beach is ok, and it is easy to walk to the town (about 30-35 minutes).

Not worth the money
We stayed here on our first holiday together and when we arrived the staff were rude and unwilling to help us. Due to being a young couple and wanting to explore the area around where we were staying, we asked the hotel staff about the area and the transport in the area, when done so they weren’t willing to help us and were disgusted by the fact we wanted to leave the hotel and beach area. Until we arrived we were fully unaware of the fact you had to pay €7 per day per person to be on the beach by the hotel as the hotel wasn’t the cheapest we assumed some things would be include, they weren’t. We ended up using the free part of the beach as thought this would be a waste of money. Another thing that we weren’t aware of was that the pool area was tiny, with limited sun beds and a quiet zone so if you want to go have any fun don’t stay here.
Overall, an alright location but staff were unfriendly, when staying here you are paying for the room and nothing else. We won’t be staying here again.
What a beautiful hotel

We’ve just had a fabulous stay at Ikones Suites and honestly, what a lovely hotel. The staff and service across every area — the hotel, à la carte restaurant, spa and beach — were exceptional. Everyone was friendly, attentive and couldn’t do enough for us.
The hotel is out of town, and anyone who tells you it’s a “nice 30-minute walk” clearly hasn’t had, or doesn’t need, a knee or hip replacement! 😂 We never actually found the bus stop, but taxis were only €7 each way and were incredibly easy to get, both into town and back to the hotel.
The beach is lovely, with sunbeds costing €7 each, although any money you spend is offset against your bill, which is a nice touch.
The à la carte restaurant is fabulous — in fact, we went twice! As half-board guests, we received 20% off, and you can also swap your evening meal for lunch in the bar area, again with 20% off. The buffet restaurant was superb too, with plenty of choice and, once again, fabulous staff who really made the experience.
Breakfast was fresh, plentiful and had everything you could want. And the added bonus? Sparkling wine is available at breakfast! 🥂 What’s not to like?
The pool area is relatively small but very pleasant. It can get very hot as there isn’t much of a breeze, but the pool itself is lovely and getting in and out is easy peasy.
All in all, we’ve had a fantastic stay. A beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, great food and a lovely location with easy access to the town — just maybe don’t believe the 30-minute-walk brigade if your hips and knees aren’t what they used to be! 😂

A Wonderful Week at Ikones Suites
We had a truly wonderful week at Ikones Suites and enjoyed every moment of our stay. From the very beginning, we felt warmly welcomed and genuinely well taken care of.
All the staff were incredibly friendly, kind and helpful, and their warm and personal way of treating guests really made a difference. A special thank you to Tania and the lovely team at the reception.
The hotel itself is beautiful and the facilities are excellent. Our room was absolutely lovely, beautifully designed, very comfortable and, above all, spotlessly clean. We were also very happy to receive a room upgrade, which made our stay even more special.
I also had the opportunity to enjoy the spa, and it was a wonderful experience. A very special thank you to Nicol and Eleanna, who made my spa experience so relaxing and enjoyable.
The beach right in front of the hotel is beautiful and perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sea. One small thing worth mentioning is that the sun loungers on the beach come with an additional charge of €14 per day for two loungers. This amount is considered a minimum spend and can be used towards food and drinks. We also really enjoyed the food.
We left Ikones Suites with wonderful memories and would happily come back. A big thank you to the entire team for making our holiday so special. Highly recommended!
Some points that could be considered to make it a vip experience
The restaurant that is included in the half pension concept doesnt really take into account a family of 4 people. You cant reserve a table but if you go for dinner they dont have a table for you ready either and you are suppose to wait? I think they could do a better job here, if necessary with reservations so you are expected.
Another point of small criticism are the prices for wine and cocktails at the bar. I believe these are overprised for guests staying at your hotel. Lunch however is at a fair price at the bar and on the beach.
Overall nice hotel with nice rooms, good location, nice working staff!
