This hotel is okay as a base
Okay, let me start by saying this hotel is okay. It’s a good base, close enough to everything. We have had a lovely time but…
… it needs work. We booked the executive room with jacuzzi. Personal choice, we always have a jacuzzi. Now we do have reasonable expectations especially when at check in you are told this is their best room. Now on first impressions it’s lovley. Big bed that is really comfortable. Lots of storage, living room area that we didn’t really use, good shower and sinks, toilet is fine, but seat cracks when you sit in it, making it noisy in the night and a little worrying every time you go. There is also a very strong chemical/acetone smell when you run hot water, not sure what it is, but we have both struggled with dry, itchy skin.
In places the room is tired and needs attention, like damaged furniture and the fridge is small, I’ve had some exceptional practice at fridge Jenga!
Balcony is lovley and big, 2 loungers and a table, two chairs and table, big beanbag lounger, large parasol and of course the jacuzzi/hot tub. Sadly the jacuzzi is very old, quite a few of the jets don’t work, head rest missing and the others degraded. The biggest downfall is the birds… they see the hot tub as theirs, they visit to drink and bath… and poo… everywhere. The glass around the edge is covered in it. They perch on the pergola and poo in it, we had to have it emptied and cleaned numerous times and for the last 5 days haven’t used it. See pictures.
Internet is an issue, it’s terrible, so if you don’t have a deal look for an overseas eSIM because just loading a simple social media page is painful. I usually do my food shop for when we get home… haven’t managed it this time.
Talking about food… it’s terrible. In 12 days I have managed to find one thing I liked… a ham and mushroom pasta bake. Even at 6:15pm when dinner starts everything is cold… and if you decide to buy a drink with your meal, be prepared to be hassled to pay for it whilst you eat. we’ve given up and found some lovley restaurants on the front. And make sure you try the bakery out of the back door and turn right, on the opposite side of the road. Delicious xx
Can’t really comment on the bar nor pool. It’s small, we didn’t use it but looks to not have sun all day.
Some staff are lovley, especially the cleaning team. some clearly used to work in a prison.
Would we return… to beautiful Rethymno yes, we have already booked. Just not here

Perfect holidays!
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, everything was very clean and beautiful. We definitely recommend this hotel!
Highly Recommended
A beautiful hotel we enjoyed our stay immensely. Hotel is located in an excellent area close to the beach and old town also a supermarket a two minute walk away. We stayed in the stunning executive suite which completely blew us away. All members of staff are extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast selection is excellent and quality of food was the very best. The room cleaning team left our room spotless everyday without fail, fresh towels neatly folded and even went as far as to neatly fold any loose clothes of ours and organise our shoes. The pool area was very relaxing and the bar staff very attentive. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rethymno.

The hotel is located a short walk from the beach and main promenade. It’s a 20 minute walk to the old town, which is definitely worth a visit. With the hotel being slightly back from the main front it is a quiet and relaxing place to stay. The atmosphere is a friendly one, the staff are so attentive and cannot do enough for you, I cannot fault them. We were initially greeted by a lovely receptionist, who explained as it was nearly midnight at time of arrival they had put on a plate of cold meat, cheese and fruit, which I thought was a thoughtful touch. This hotel is couples only which is perfect for us as we came away to relax. We were always able to get a really nice sun bed, often the Bali bed type. The food overall was excellent, however at breakfast they do cater more for a continental crowd , I would have preferred a fresh omelette daily or British bacon and sausage. The room facilities were also excellent, with a very comfortable bed and really good shower, however there is no Netflix on the TV which I would of expected and only two English channels, this was not an issue for us as I had my IPad and didn’t watch much TV. The snack bar and bar staff were excellent. The town itself is so picturesque, with plenty to do, we will definitely be returning. I cannot fault this holiday and honestly can say this is one of the best holidays I have ever had.
