Our impressions....
This was our first visit to Crete. And based on friendly advice we chose to be in Rethymno. Our choice of hotel was the Atrium Ambience. This hotel is modern in aspect and includes a pool in a courtyard effect. We were warmly welcomed at reception and helped to our room....130 which is at a lower level but away from the main road so we were not affected by traffic noise. What did disturb us was the emptying of bins by contractors during the night!! The room was spacious though the shower room and toilet was a little small. The shower had an air vent though this should really have been an extractor fan. The shower cubicle doors did not close properly and so water leaked out onto the floor. We mentioned this to the cleaners but said it was receptions responsibility. At the start of our holiday there was also an unpleasant smell that came from the drains. Other occupiers of nearby rooms also complained and this was attended to. From past experience this smell is caused by irregular passing of water through the drains. Throughout our stay, our room was always clean. We were provided with a kettle and cups and a small selection of tea and coffee. These weren't replenished daily. Our breakfast and evening buffet meals were taken in the main restaurant. There were ample choices available and we were not disappointed with the quality or quantity of the food available. It was in the restaurent that we were welcomed daily by either the well dressed duty manager and her staff Eleni, Maria and male student whose name we forgot to take. All of these members of staff at varying mealtimes welcomed us and we and they got used to their and our welcomes. Outside in the pool we were a little concerned that the pool water had a hazy look to it. This deterred us from using the pool though other guests did use it from time to time. During our stay we noticed samples bring taken from the pool . Overall. we enjoyed our stay and we definitely received good value from the hotel in the cost of the holiday. We would recommend others to stay and we would think about booking again.

An excellent choice
Amazing hotel, friendly and helpful staff, great food and ideal location. Can’t fault it! Highly recommended.
A great time.
My third time to stay here and although there were a lot of new people, I felt really welcome, just about everyone had their part in that, started with one special wish. Maria, at the desk, was always willing to help choose an activity for me and made sure I also went haha. Eftixis, thanks for fixing the power in 400. I even needed a doctor and Evagelia took care of it right aways, just great!
Clean room, the cleaning ladies really know how to do their job.
Buffet restaurant had more choice than I could handle, every evening there was something different and the deserts were great. Maria, Petros, Niki, Xenia and all the others, you're all great!
Matenia arranged a table for me at Fuego, grill restaurant. Great setting outside behind the swimming pool and the food was outstanding. A Greek night afterwards, enjoyed it a lot.
Tasty cappucino's at the poolbar, lots of fresh orange juice and of course lunch there. Mainly Viki and Chrysa who were there during my stay. Also during evenings, thanks for the mocktails Nikos and Viki!
And the Sofia's were always on patrol and willing to have a talk too.
You made it a special time for me there, really nice. 🙏🏼

PERFECT holiday!
This was our 3rd stay at the Atrium Ambiance Hotel. Everything was perfect, we got the room we wanted, thanks to Eva, the girl who works at the reception. Eva took care of us all the time, she gave us everything we wanted during our stay, she helped us organize the excursions, and we were always glad to talk to her about everything. We are very grateful to Eva, she made every our holiday in Atrium Ambiance hotel perfect, interesting and enjoyable!
The hotel is perfect for us, in the Rethymno city, very close to the beach, and everything was great. The food is delicious, varied, and the bar has great cocktails. We also want to mention the wonderful people in the hotel restaurant, Mathenia, Maria, Eleni, Niki, Petros, and Pedro in the hotel bar.
Although the weather was sometimes windy, cloudy and with big waves, it was always interesting for us, because there is always somewhere to go and visit in Rethymno. We like Rethymno very much.

Disappointed
Hotel in good location, within easy access to beach and Rethymnon Town. Waiters and waitresses are very friendly and pleasant. We were half board, breakfast was what you would expect.The evening meal was a bit disappointing and in my opinion not 4 star as their rationing states. We ate out twice during our stay. Our room was clean and tidy with ample storage. The downside of our room was the Balcony which very narrow. The Hotel brochure says rooms have pool and land view. Our room view had a slight view of the pool. The main view we had was looking over restaurant roof which had pigeons and pigeon droppings.
