What a lovely hotel and wonderful location! It is set one road back from the main road so it is quiet but within less than five minutes walk you are amongst the many shops and bars and beautiful beach.
We were in room 505 which had a spacious lounge and bedroom, a small kitchenette with a kettle and fridge and a fair sized bathroom with toiletries. The bedroom had a balcony with sun loungers and a table and chairs - and a lovely view of the sea and the island opposite. There were air conditioning units in the lounge and bedroom and also a safe. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the towels and bed linen are changed regularly. Of course the bathroom bin needs to be emptied as you can't flush toilet paper down the toilet. I took scented nappy bags to put the paper in as recommended by someone else on this site!
The hotel food was good, I have only been all inclusive in larger hotels so there wasn't as much choice as I'm used to but what was there, was good. There were Greek and Cretan specialities every day which was fun to try. I think there was something for everyone to eat, salads, meat and vegetables etc. The all inclusive drinks were ok, I tried the beer, cocktails and the wine - Prosecco wasn't included, unfortunately!
The pool looked fine (I didn't go in), there are lots of sun loungers by the pool, but no parasols, however, most of the time the area had shade on one or the other side of the pool so you could always get out of the sun. The pool bar had snacks left over from lunch which was fine.
The staff were very friendly and helpful (as were everyone we met in the bars etc outside) and there seemed to be children's play areas and baby changing facilities in every bar we went to.
There is a bus to Chania but these can get extremely packed but it's only a 20 minute journey. It's definitely worth going there as it's very pretty. We also did a 7 Villages trip on The Little Fun Train which was actually really pleasant and took us into the hills where we saw lots of orange and olive trees and also a couple of stops where we weren't pressured into buying anything. You can book this at their place on the main road, they do lots of trips.
I would recommend this hotel and Crete is on my list of places to return to!
Nino the children’s entertainer has been amazing with our children throughout our stays not only through the day but through the evening, the children celebrated their birthday while we were out here and Nino ensured not only to wish them but also sing happy birthday with a cake and candle each… she is an absolute pleasure to have around, lovely lady inside and out.the excellent rating is purely based on Nino.
We returned home from Sunrise Village this past Sunday after spending a week there. My partner, our two children, and I had a wonderful stay. The hotel itself was excellent, but what truly made the experience special was the staff.
The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and conveniently located with everything we needed close by. Our children, Noel aged 1.5 and Noah 6.5 years, took part in the daily activities throughout the week. The activities coordinator, Nino, was exceptional with the children. She greeted us with a smile every day, was incredibly friendly and approachable, and quickly became someone our children looked forward to seeing. As soon as they spotted her arriving with drawing supplies and other activity materials, they would eagerly run over to join in.
Everyone working at the hotel was welcoming and helpful, and whenever we had questions, we were met with kindness and professionalism.
I would highly recommend this hotel to families with children, but also to couples and travelers without children. It offers a great experience for everyone.
I was there with my family. The hotel is a perfect choice for familys with kids. Because every day there was a nice animator named Nino. She is very good at her job. Kids were going everyday, and everytime they were coming back very happy. About the hotel: rooms were really clean and nice, food also, and bar.
We have just returned from a two week stay at Sunrise Village Hotel. This place is undersold as 3 star - the rooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful, we had some lovely conversations with several members of the team. The food is excellent, yes it repeats each week (with slight variations) but I've not found an all inclusive hotel yet that doesn't however, it was all of excellent quality, tasted delicious and was well presented. Entertainment mostly takes place during evening dinner service which we really enjoyed and didn't mind the calm and quiet after this - the town and beach are only a 5 minute walk away so there is plenty to do/see outside of the hotel, with the heart of Chania just a 20 minute bus ride away. We will definitely be visiting again, this place was fabulous!
