Best anniversary ever.
This was our first time in a 5 star hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife and I thought that the staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and everything was done in a calm and pleasant manner. The food was superb especially the buffet breakfast which was so comprehensive to suit all tastes. The guests were varied with couples, families with and without children and singles. The outside areas with the various pools and bars with catering were superb. Beach towels supplied each time and direct access to the sea. Wonderful is the only way I can describe our stay.
A very nice stay!
We had a wonderful week at Minoa Palace Resort. Even though the weather was not as friendly as we had hoped, the amazing staff made sure that our family had a truly enjoyable and memorable stay.
From breakfast in the morning until dinner in the evening, everyone at the restaurants and bars was incredibly friendly, welcoming and always smiling. What impressed us most was that their kindness felt genuine — they were sincerely happy to help us with anything we needed.
When the weather was not suitable for the beach, the staff even took the time to do some research for us and prepare a plan with suggestions of things we could do and places we could visit around Chania as a family. This level of care and attention really made a difference to our holiday.
We would especially like to mention Katerina from Guest Relations. She is such a warm, cheerful and friendly person, and at the same time extremely professional. She helped us throughout our entire stay, always with a smile, and made us feel genuinely looked after from beginning to end. Thank you, Katerina!
We can wholeheartedly recommend Minoa Palace Resort, not only for its beautiful facilities, but especially for the wonderful people who work there. The kindness and hospitality of the entire team are what made our stay truly special.

Very Nice Hotel
We had a room with a lovely oceanfront view. It was a two minute walk to both the beachfront and to the breakfast buffet area so it was very convenient. The rooms are extremely spacious. Lots of places to set things. All the staff are extremely welcoming and attentive. The bed was comfortable. Huge bathroom The shower head is not the most powerful shower head out there, which was kind of surprising for such an upscale hotel. (BTW, toilet paper does not go down the toilet in Crete.) Housekeeping was great. I can't speak for the experience of swimming at the beach because the temperatures were on the cool side and I had a cold so I didn't swim but it was nice to lie on the beach lounge chairs. The breakfast buffet was a big, standard buffet. It was a huge buffet where the food was decent but not amazing. Easy walk to town shops and restaurants. Not sure what Minoa's competition is, if there is any else like it in Minoa in terms of a big 5 star hotel. We split our stay between Minoa and then a boutique hotel in the Old City of Chania. Very different experiences so it really depends on what you want to do while in Crete. I would definitely consider staying at Minoa again.

Wonderful in All Aspects
Just returned from having a week at this beautiful hotel.Very well maintained with very friendly staff at all levels.Breakfast offerings to suit all tastes and very plentiful.Close to many restaurants for a visit for an Evening meal.Rooms a very good size and very quiet.Excellent value with the convience of pool bars for drinks and snack type meals.Plenty of space in the well maintained garden areasand plenty of sunbeds available around the pools and also on the private beach which are provided free of charge

Came back after 18 years
Came back to this hotel that I visited 18 years ago. Went back with my boyfriend and 3 year old girl. I remembered the beautiful area around on the hotel! Grass, flowers, nice corners and just coziness! It was exactly the same, and we all loved it. Also very quiet even though the hotel was 80% full. Always sun beds available. All the pools were very cold though.
The staff around the hotel was absolutely amazing! It’s not a proper children’s hotel, but yet every single person was just so kind and loving around our little girl. They just couldn’t do enough for you. Especially Despina (restaurant) George (bar) Pantelis (bar) and Lamia (cleaning), were absolute incredible! They really need a pay rise for their engagement!
Our room (129) was fine and spacious, but they really need to renovate and make the rooms and the inside of the hotel more modern. It’s dark wood everywhere, and it just seems old and out of style. The bathrooms were the same as 18 years ago.
The toilets around the hotel are also very old, and seems to want some kind of renovation too.
The lunch buffet in Thalassa (around the beach), isn’t something I’ll recommend. Not many choices and just didn’t really meet our expectations. We weren’t told, that we could also have our lunch at the Italian restaurant around the pool (but heard it from other guests and then asked the reception). I’ll 100% recommend other gusts to have their lunch at the Italian. The pool bar also serves nice snacks.
The dinner buffet was fine (but I remember it as better than it was now). But the highlights was the Greek evening and the Italian evening. Absolutely amazing food!!
Breakfast is just perfect!!!! Could eat there every day. Though, there is a woman working there who doesn’t seem to be working the right place as she acts angry and doesn’t talk or smile (the one making omelettes).
All in all I do recommend this place. But if it has to keep up with their 5 stars, they need to start renovating and make it fresh and new.
