This hotel lies on the beach in Rethymnon, offering guests the ideal setting in which to indulge in the ultimate relaxation. The hotel is situated just a short distance away from a number of attractions in the area, while guests can enjoy a wide range of activities nearby. This delightful hotel enjoys a bright exterior and tastefully-appointed interior. The guest rooms offer a cocoon of peace and serenity in which to enjoy restful slumber at the end of the day. Guests are invited to enjoy the extensive choice of facilities that this wonderful hotel has to offer.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We’ve adored our stay – an absolutely beautiful setting, great service, fantastic food, and lovely pools and beach. There’s a great choice of à la carte restaurants, and the most stunning sunsets to enjoy with a cocktail in hand in the evenings. Loved the varied food options around the pool too, as well as dinner at their Agreco Farm.
Visited from 26th June - 2nd July.
It's not a 5 star establishment, but there is room for improvement.
The first impressions of the hotel were good. The view was beautiful.
We arrived at 14.30 and our room was ready, so after a hot towel, drink and paying tourist tax of €15 per night we were then taken to our room. The lady who took us to the room spoke very fast.
The room was beautiful (we had the Prestige guest room). This room sits right next to swim up up rooms (you can use the swim up pool) and over looking the sea.
As we settled into the room, we realised there could be room for improvement. Very minor things like dressing area/chair, more hooks and a suitcase holder would have been very useful. The storage area was quite limited.
Housekeeping was great at changing towels. Mini bar was topped up daily.
The children's pool was lovely. Our 4 year old enjoyed using the pool with his inflatables. Food and drinks at the pool were good, although the service seems to be focused more on the main pool, so expect a little slower service. They could do with adding pizza on the menu for kids. We did just go to the restaurant to get a pizza to bring back to the pool.
The kids' club is right next to the kids' pool. The staff at the club seemed very pleasant, but there were hardly any children using the club, but it could have been because of the time of year. Our son did not use the facilities, but they were very friendly.
I had prebooked the restaurants via WhatsApp about 3 weeks before our stay (max 3 reservations), and was I glad as MANY guests in passing comments during our stay said they could not get any reservations for their stay. I can't imagine what will happen in the summer holidays.
Tavernaki presented the food with no menu for food or drinks. They did not explain how the food would arrive. We were not asked if there were any dietary requirements - my husband does not eat beef, and it was served on a shared platter. Overall, the food was okay and the wine chosen for us was good.
Agreco farm experience was quite awkward, with no real atmosphere. There were 2 groups attending dinner / tour. The gentleman who gave us the tour was very friendly and gave some humour to the evening, we tasted products and visited the animals.
Having a 4 year old proved to be difficult because he was very tired by the time dinner was served.
The same happened as the first night, no menu for food. It was all served with no question on allergies or dietary requirements.
We arrived at 6 - The starters came out at 8, there were extreme amount of plates that came out, but by the time mains came out(at 9) we were pretty tired and not interested in the mains - salty and the meat was very dry!
The atmosphere was very tense, and many of the group were tired, bored, and frustrated in waiting for the meal. Some resorted to getting their own transportation back to the hotel as the coach arrived quite late.
Expect your toddler to eat the adult menu as nothing was offered for children. If they serve children first, the night would have gone much smoother for us. They could do with some live music to make it so much fun.
Asia White - my absolute favourite. Finally, a menu! Delicious shared starters and the ability to pick own main and dessert. It was delicious, and the view did not disappoint. Still no wine menu - they don't have champagne - just sparkling wine.
We tried the afternoon tea, and sadly, it was not to my liking. They served the same desserts as the buffet. Buffet breakfast and dinner were acceptable.
The beach was beautiful, keep to the right side as it is clearer and less bumpy. My husband took the opportunity of jet skiing, which he loved. We never had issues finding a sun bed.
The only disappointing part of our stay was whilst trying to fix the bed sheets after night four, we found a heavy stained mattress. When reported, the guest services/management offered us an upgrade for the remainder of our stay. I went to view this room, but as I was walking out of the room, house keeping were changing the sheets on another stained mattress. I declined the room change as it didn't resolve the issue of stained mattress.
However, they changed the mattress in our room with protectors with a multitude of apologies.
I do think this is an ongoing issue that must not be ignored. It is not acceptable to have your guests sleep on a heavy stained mattress. Guest services mentioned that the mattresses get replaced every season - when I challenged this, all I got were apologies - they lied. Housekeeping informed me that stained mattresses at the hotel are normal.
Grecotel luxme White is a beautiful hotel, we did have a wonderful stay and left with amazing memories. The staff were all so pleasant and kind. They do try and make your stay comfortable.
There is much more they need to improve, like entertainment, and some sort of day activities that's exciting.
We had a wonderful stay at Grecotel LUXME White and thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. Everything went extremely well, and we left with many great memories.
We would especially like to compliment your entire team. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, professional, and attentive throughout our stay. Whether at the reception, in the various restaurants, at the Kids Club, or through the housekeeping service, every member of staff was charming and always willing to help.
We were also very impressed by the quality of the restaurants. The food, the variety, and the overall dining experience were truly exceptional and exceeded our expectations.
Great week with the family. The staff absolutely made it for us, really attentive, friendly, nothing was too much. Good selection of restaurants and options for both lunch and dinner. Brilliant views for dinner and the most gorgeous sunset
We had an amazing holiday at Grecotel LUXME White and would happily return.
The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and our bedroom was stunning. It was modern, spacious and felt really luxurious. The only area that let it down slightly was the bathroom, which felt a little dated and could do with a refresh to match the high standard of the bedrooms.
The cleaning service could have been a little better for a 5-star hotel, but it certainly didn’t spoil our stay.
One of the biggest highlights was how incredibly baby friendly the hotel is. We travelled with our 8-month-old son and were so impressed. There was a baby menu, cot, baby bath, steriliser, bouncer, play mat and plenty of other equipment available to hire. Some items were free of charge and others came at a small cost, but everything made travelling with a baby so much easier.
The staff were fantastic throughout our stay. They were genuinely warm, friendly and always happy to help. A special mention to Kiki at the Italian restaurant, who was absolutely wonderful. She always remembered our son’s name and even remembered his order, which was such a lovely personal touch.
The food was another standout. The à la carte restaurants were exceptional, especially considering they were included in the all-inclusive package. The quality genuinely felt like dining at a high-end restaurant. The buffet was good, although not quite at the same level as the speciality restaurants. We’d also like to mention the wine connoisseur, who was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us choose some fantastic wines to pair with dinner.
The crêpes deserve a mention too because they were honestly 10 out of 10.
The pool was spotless and the pool bar had a great atmosphere with an excellent selection of drinks and premium spirits.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay with our 8-month-old and left feeling relaxed and well looked after. Thank you to everyone at Grecotel LUXME White for making our family holiday so special. We hope to be back again in the future
