This charming resort hotel is set right next to a gorgeous sandy beach in the tiny resort town of Kokkini Hani, halfway between Heraklion and the larger resort town of Chersonissos. The hotel features 441 air-conditioned guest rooms, family rooms and bungalows with warm, cheerful décor, en suite marble bathrooms, mini bar, and satellite television. Guests can wake up to a satisfying breakfast buffet in the main restaurant and dine in the Chinese restaurant, and can find tasty treats and refreshing drinks throughout the day at the café, traditional tavern, and five hotel bars. Mixed feelings
I’m sharing my review as I feel this could be a really good hotel if they changed a few things. This doesn’t feel like a 5 star hotel, more like 4 star.
It’s overall a very good all inclusive hotel and clean. Unlike some where they charge you for extra things. In the à la carte restaurants you can have anything to drink and order what you want so you don’t feel restricted by set menus. The Italian was really nice and Cristina made us feel at home. The Mexican is very nice, but you can only have this during lunchtime which is a shame as it’s more of an evening heavy meal. We decided to cancel the Greek and steakhouse even tho we had made reservations prior. We thought the buffet will give more choice being vegetarian. However,it was the same food everyday and not great. I ended up having spaghetti and jacket potato and if you are vegan you will really struggle, it just feels very basic, not 5 star by any means. The pan Asian had nice starters, but the mains not so much. Sha looked after us and organised a birthday cake for my husband after numerous attempts in emailing concierge. They wanted me to book a birthday package which was payable, but I didn’t want balloons for my husband, just a little gesture which in most hotels they will just do. Constantina in the wine bar is amazing and very knowledgeable. The service was good there. The pool is very nice, but you need to get there early and make sure you’re back before the hour. A lady does go round with a clip board making a note of this.
Now for the not so good…they couldn’t give us a late checkout which ok we accept, but the changing facilities are awful and the luggage room is so hot and stuffy so if you have a late flight be mindful of this. There are a lot of children and babies so it’s not a couples kind of hotel. The entertainment is mediocre and primarily for kids. It’s on a flight path but this didn’t bother us too much. They really need to cater for vegans as this is lacking. Furthermore my son has a nut allergy and in the buffet they didn’t have a key for this on the menus. When he was trying to explain some of the staff couldn’t understand. This is a big oversight which needs to be addressed as some allergies can be very serious.

Superb hotel
What a superb hotel this is, honestly ike of the best holidays i Ever had with my family. The start were incredibly helpful and friendly and the a la Carte restaurants were really good. The good on gjeneral was very good quality and the rooms we had were very comfortable and clean
Beautiful place in Crete
We found this wonderful hotel in Crete and we're absolutely thrilled! The first impression we got from this place was excellent, and the reception staff was very friendly and welcoming and the food was very good. The a la carte restaurants really added to the experience.
The best beach holiday we ever had in Greece
An amazing place to relax and enjoy the sea and the sunshine! The vibe here is fantastic with tastefully built facility and services designed thoughtfully for its guests. We really felt like home here . We enjoyed our pool as much as the sea and the food was truly outstanding in every restaurant. Ronda has some à la carte restaurants with really good menus and the service is fast and friendly. We will definitely book this hotel again !
Much needed treat
A short transfer from the airport, to be placed right on the beach with a wonderful view if the adjacent island. Chrystal clear ocean water lapping over soft golden sands. A family friendly quiet hotel with fantastic food and great variety of drinks available all day. The staff are extremely welcoming and very friendly. Always met by all staff with a smile and the willingness to help. Loads of amenities and a good selection of activities and things to keep you busy. The accommodation is kept immaculately clean and very well maintained and the public areas are modern and appealing. A must visit is the wine bar where Marlou and Konstantina will look after you royally with top class sushi, charcuterie board and a great list of wines. The ambience of the resort is relaxed and happy and the class of visitors would be welcome at your mother’s house. We’ve been privileged to visit four of the Mitsis hotels and this one is top notch. You get what you pay for and you deserve to treat yourself occasionally. Thank you to all the staff who make it happen.
