Arina Beach Resort is one of the first built and most known hotels on Crete island, due to its characteristic architecture, its outstanding services and long history in the Cretan Hospitality industry. The sleek and fully renovated Arina Beach Resort on Crete's sun-drenched north coast focuses on total island relaxation. The resort is set in beautiful gardens, dotted with palm trees and colorful flowers, overlooking the stunning crystal clear waters of the Cretan sea. Consisting of its “trade mark” five-storey Main Building with all rooms offering marvelous sea views, and additional wings housing Rooms with Private pool or Sharing Pool, Double Rooms Sea Views, Beach Front Bungalows (some with Private Pool), & Family rooms either Maisonettes or simple Sea Views. There are large swimming pools (one heart shaped) meticulously lined with loungers backs onto the private beach with endless sea serenity beyond. In a specially designed area, supervised by trained personnel, kids will find exciting games by our Water Park to exhaust their energy, make new friends, laugh their hearts out and enjoy their vacation. Our main Restaurant serves up a wide range of buffet-style foods with vegetarian options, while Asian Buffer Restaurant' offers an enriched dinner buffet choice ‘Asian' style. Our guests may indulge their tastes in our A la Carte Restaurant as well. When the sun sets, the Daedalus Bar is the place to go, with cushioned sofas providing ample opportunity for wind down time. Everything was just fine!
I have nothing to criticise really. The hotel is about 15 minutes away from the airport. So the airplanes are flying over all the time but for it was nothing to complain about. It was fun for the kids to watch and guess the airlines. The beach was sandy with gradient entrance into the sea. The rooms were clean and in a very good state. We got a room upgrade which was fantastic and we are really thankful for that. Food was very good, lots of choices, drinks the same. We would definitely like to come back.

Lovely Hotel - Bit very noisy
I want to start with the negatives.
Hotel: the hotel is situated off a main road, and whilst the balconies mainly face towards the sea, you constantly hear road noise from the room.
Whilst the hotel is situated a very convenient 20mins from the airport, at no point were we informed that the approach to the airport is directly over the hotel, so from about 7am until midnight there is a stream of planes only a few hundred feet above all outside areas of the hotel. During our stay there were about 7 or 8 flights an hour. Yes you get used to the noise but it’s still very loud and does disturb you constantly.
The evening entertainment was average, there was a Greek night and we were looking forward to this, however, it was one man and 4 dancers who repeated the dancing and music for the hour they were on. There were a couple of nights with amazing singers (Drifters and a singer with a saxophone player were great)
Evening Bar Service - I have used the word service but it’s more the lack of that gets me. The main indoor bar in the evening has 2 people working, but the male spends more time doing shots with guests than serving causing very long queues for a drink. There is no rush either, even when there are 15 - 20 people queuing they just slow down and chat to each other. Management needs to monitor this and find a resolution.
The adults only pool is at the very end of the hotels complex and overlooked by a very busy road, not a relaxing place to spend the day.
There are lots of positives for this hotel:
A massive THANK YOU to Dimitris who works at the pool bar below the heart shaped pool. Constantly smiling and happy, all the time. This service should be replicated at the main bar in the evening, there would be no queues and happy customers. He is a credit to the hotel.
Food - There was always plenty of choice and you would be very unlucky if at any meal time there wasn’t something for you to eat. We found most of the foot was hot, occasionally a couple of dishes were warm.
Sun beds - At the time of our stay (outside school holidays) we found spare sun-beds everywhere meaning no 8am dash to put your towels out.
Rooms - These were always very clean and spacious our friends did have a mosquito issue on the first few nights but the hotel were quick to rectify this.
Swimming Pools - Late September the pools are cold, they use seawater and are not heated which could be an issue to some, although on our last couple of days they were in to process of installing a heating system for the heart shaped pool so next year this issue will be resolved.
Beautiful resort with excellent food.
This was our second stay and again we had a great time. It is a beatiful resort. The food is excellent, there are different nice swimming pools, clean modern rooms and very friendly personnel.

We had a great vacation
Great hotel, there are a lot of meal options. The children had a lot of fun in the pool, in the private beach and in the kids club. Me and my hudband had a wonderful massage in the spa.

That was a nice and relaxing Experience with Elena and John. Thanks them we were fully relaxed, and completely enjoyed our seance.
